Hikari was out riding her horse when she spotted an unfamiliar black car in the driveway. She guided Aiko back to the stable and got off. What was going on? Perhaps her uncle had a meeting with another villain? The girl put her horse up and made her way to the house. Hikari removed her shoes and set them aside. As she slid the door open she could hear her Uncle, Eiji speaking to another man.
"-Of course Eiji, I'll take very good care of Hikari. I'll take her on a walk when she returns and propose to her," The unfamiliar voice spoke.
"I believe she's just returned, Hikari!" Eiji called for her.
Hikari shut the door and walked into the meeting room, where her uncle was seated in front of a dark-suited man. The girl bowed and took a seat beside Eiji.
"This is Father," He spoke to her in Japanese, "He came here with an offer to marry you. Since you are 19 now and of marriage age."
"But dear uncle, I hardly know this man, please reconsider this," Hikari replied, stunned.
"Go walk with him and get to know him. I've already struck a deal for you," Eiji said and waved the pair out. Hikari stood up and guided Father out of the house, she slipped her boots back on and walked out.
"So, What happened to your parents?" The man asked her.
"Passed away when I was little," Hikari said quietly.
When the pair got to the lake, he stopped her and looked out.
"I'd like to ask you something," Father said and looked down to her
With a breath, he took one of her hands and got to one knee.
"Hikari Ren, will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?" He asked
Hikari stood stunned for a moment before nodding she had no other response to give. She couldn't bear to embarrass her uncle and lose him a business partner. Father slid the engagement ring onto her small ring finger and stood up.
"Good, we'll take this to your uncle. I'd like the wedding to be done as soon as possible," Father stated and took the girl back home.
Hikari followed him quietly and obediently. She reminded him to take his shoes off as she did and told Eiji of the proposal.
"Very good, we'll have it planned in two weeks' time. I'll have to bring out your mother's old wedding kimono," Eiji spoke to her. "I'd like for you two to stay at Hikari's home until further notice."
"My car is the Red Nissan if you'd like to drive with me," Hikari said and smiled at him.
"Of course," Father said as he watched her collect her things.
Hikari and Father went out to the red SUV and got in, Hikari taking the driver's side. The vehicle came to life as the headlights came on.
"Tell me more about yourself, Father," Hikari said. She wanted to make small talk at a bare minimum.
"Well, I started my own business at the age of twenty, and I became a multimillionaire at the age of twenty-two. I saw you on advertising for an album, one of my employees got your uncle's contact information," Father said with a smile.
"I'm honored to become your wife, though I'm unsure if I'm fit to fill that role," Hikari replied as she started on the drive home.
