It was silent. The only thing in the room that made any noise was the grandfather clock in the corner, with it's steady ticking. The two people in the room didn't want to talk- or rather didn't know what to say. They didn't want this. They didn't want any of this to happen. All they wanted was to be together forever, like they thought it would be just two months ago. But a lot of things can change in two months, as they now knew. And change wasn't always for the best.

The personifications for Norway and Denmark were sitting across the room from each other, not making eye contact. They didn't really want to see the pain and sadness in the other's eyes, so they just avoided them completely, staring at the swirly patterns on the wood floor.

"So.." Matthias said, breaking the silence. "How much longer do we have?"

"I'm guessing maybe an hour. Then I have to.." Lukas trailed off, not wanting to finish his sentence.

"Then you have to leave. Forever," Matthias finished for him. Slowly, Lukas nodded.

"It won't be forever. We'll be together again. We'll see each other at meetings and I'm sure my boss will let me visit you soon enough," Lukas insisted. Matthias shook his head with a sad smile.

"You know what I mean. We won't be together like this again. This is it." He said quietly. Lukas looked up from the floor to see that Matthias was silently crying. He sighed and got up from his chair to sit closer to the Dane, cupping his cheek.

"Hey, it'll be okay. We'll see each other soon, once things have cooled down. Jeg elskar deg, don't ever forget that." Matthias smiled through his tears and held Lukas close.

"But I don't want this to end! I want to wake up every morning with you by my side, and the smell of coffee absolutely everywhere because you can't live without it! I want to hear your sarcastic comments and the quiet sounds of you reading! I want to see you with Emil clinging to your leg everywhere you go because I may or may not have told him a scary story accidentally and now he's too scared to go in the basement! I just want to be with you longer! Why do you have to go?!" He cried out, his grip becoming tighter as he spoke. Lukas couldn't help it; he let a few tears fall himself, clinging to Matthias.

"I don't know.. I want to stay with you, too. I want to help you get back on your feet when Berwald beats you up. I want to see your smiling face every day. I want to hear your useless fun facts and your fairy tales. I want to get tackled by your 'surprise hugs' whenever I try turning a corner in the house. All I want is to keep living with you. Why do I have to leave? Why can't they just let us stay together?" They both went silent after that, clutching onto each other and crying into each other's shoulders.

When their bosses came to tell them their time together was up, they were quite surprised at the scene they saw. They eventually had to pull the two apart anyway, which was quite a hard feat when you were trying to contain two nations who were desprately trying to get back together.

"Norge! Don't go away! Please don't! I still need you!" Matthias cried out. Lukas eventually managed to push his boss away and went back to Matthias for one last hug, pulling Matthias down to his level so their foreheads could touch.

"I need you too, but I have to go. Promise me you'll wait for me until I can come visit?" Matthias hesitated.

"I.. I promise.." Lukas gave Matthias a sad smile and reluctantly pulled back when his boss tapped his shoulder again.

"Until we meet again, Kohler." Matthias returned the smile, but his was sadder and smaller, somehow.

"Until we meet again."

I wanted to make a story on this, since I'm pretty sure it's canon that Den and Nor were separated by force and Norway did not 'escape' because Denmark was an 'abusive bitch', so ye
I'm assuming after they split up, Norway's boss wouldn't be too keen on letting him and Denmark hang out together, so that's the thing they're talking about.

I also probably made Nor a bit OOC and gave him more emotion than normal, but it's a freaking emotional moment gdi how could I not
