When Aerys II Targaryen, (the "Mad King",) is overthrown, a Great Council is called and Eddard Stark is chosen as Lord of the Seven Kingdoms and Protector of the Realm. Thirteen years later, this new dynasty will be tested to its limit following the suspicious death of the Hand of the King.

EDDARD STARK, First of His Name, King of the Andals and the Rhoynar and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms and Protector of the Realm. Formerly Lord of Winterfell. Overthrew the Targaryen dynasty after the murder of his father and brother in what became known as Eddard's Rebellion. This is the first of the glossary pages for A Crown for Wolves.

At the bottom of each chapter I will leave a section, like this, where I will point out important deviations from the original A Song of Ice and Fire series. For example, whilst this story takes place concurrently with the events of A Game of Thrones (and such there will be no Prologue chapter, as it would just be identical to the one seen in A Game of Thrones,) it follows an alternate timeline wherein after Robert's Rebellion, a Great Council is called to decide who should sit the Iron Throne. In the end, it is Eddard Stark who is picked by his fellow lords, and in turn the rebellion against the Targaryen dynasty is remembered as Eddard's Rebellion.

This will also be the section where I will respond to reader feedback, if I should get any. I am happy to answer questions and provide clarity, in situations where I feel doing so would not hinder the story going forward.

I will be releasing glossary pages daily, after which the main story will begin. Like in ASOIAF, there will be multiple POV characters. The first chapter will be from the perspective of Tyrion Lannister.
