She hadn't meant to be reborn, honestly she would have rather stayed dead. Now she has to go through life as a ninja, being a civilian would have been too boring after her years in the military. She was just lucky that someone else was in a similar boat as her, but his circumstances were much different. Now she has to train in a world where a ninja must act as a ninja.

1. Chapter 1

I thought of the people before me who had looked down at the river and gone to sleep beneath it. I wondered about them. I wondered how they had done it—it, the physical act. I simply wondered about the dead because their days had ended, and I did not know how I would get through mine.

James Baldwin had been brought into the forefront of her mind during her demise. Well, when she put it like that it sounded as though she had been some evil ruler that had to be put down for the greater good. She wasn't, she was just a simple navel officer in a long line of soldiers. It wasn't the fact that she was in the military that had been the cause of her death.

It had been the fact that she had a tumor in her brain right behind her eyes.

She had been ready for death when it happened, dying had been painful and she had gone blind weeks before her health had deteriorated to the point where she had needed help doing the simplest of tasks. What she wasn't ready for was a woman with lavender eyes looking down at her.

To say she was confused was an understatement.

Last thing she remembered was listening to her brother reading her a story that their mother had loved. Now she was being talked to in a language that she didn't understand. She would've sighed if she could but judging by the expression on the woman's face she was certainly letting her displeasure show.

All she could think was that this was going to be interesting.
