This story begins in the era of the Republic during the Clone Wars,of jedi padawan showed great potential but has a seed of darkness waiting to bloom inside him.

"Niall you must learn to let go of your emotions" a jedi spoke revealing the Jedi Master Obi-wan Kenobi "I'm sorry Master I still havent gotten over the murder of my parents" Obi-wan looked at him with a feeling of sadness and understanding as he remembered his loss of qui-gon and Satine to Maul, "Niall if you dont learn to your pain will eventually turn into hate and with that hate you could turn to the Dark Side and destroy everyone around you" he places a hand on Nialls shoulder.

Niall looks at the ground and bavk at his master "I'll try" he smiles at Obi-Wan who stands up "Well we better hurry we have to go to the debriefing for the misson" he turns around and Niall follows quickly behind him looking forward to his first misson.

On the Bridge of The Negotiator

"General Grievous has a supply depot on the planet below and we must capture it to weaken the Seperatists Alliance significantly in this sector" Admiral Yularen gives the debrief to Obi-wan and Anakin Skywalker as well as their padawans. Obi-wan looks at the map and notices something seems wrong "the defences are much weaker than normal so it's safe to assume that it's a trap" Obi-Wan strokes his beard in thought.

"My padawan and I as well with Anakin with his will drop down to to planet to investigate and if it's the case that this isnt a trap we call in troops to capture the depot" he then points to a ridge overhanging the supply depot on the holotable "that's where we will conduct our reconnaissance" they all proceed after the debriefing to the hanger to prep for the misson.

Niall had been nervous due to this being first misson due to what the Jedi Council feared and distrusted him does to his inherent connection to the Darkside and had not wanted him to be a Jedi had it not have been Master Yoda's intervention a large reason the Council had not wished for him to be a Jedi was due to his lightsaber choice and the color of his kyber crystal

Flashback

"Master Yoda is this where we are going to get our kyber crystal" Niall asked shivering from the cold wind of Ilum "yes here shall find your kyber crystal" he answers. They proceeded to enter the temple and to the younglings amazement Yoda used a large crystal to focus the light to melt the ice covering the door and they continued on their trek. They stopped at an area covered in kyber crystals and Master Yoda finally spoke again "let the force guide you to your crystal" he then stood by the entrance while the younglings went looking for their crystal's. Niall was drawn deeper and farther into the caves than any others and what he found he couldnt believe.

What he saw was a red kyber crystal floating in between the gap of a stalactite and stalagmite "these Crystal's arent suppossed to exist naturally" he says out loud in amazement and fear knowing of who used them but he was drawn to it. He stepped towards it and wrapped his hand around it and what he felt was a warmth that filled a void he never knew that existed within him "I have found my crystal" he smiles and heads back the way he came but realises due to the nature of this crystal he would be taken into custody for fear of the Dark Side but while he returned he believed that Master Yoda would not do what he feared.

Time skip

"Master Yoda where is Niall he's been missing for a while" the padawan Kate Maf asked while looking around seeing the other padawans Mat Ivis, Kasandra Nem and Leon boz " come in time he shall" he answered Kate and moments later Niall turned a corner with the crystal tightly held in his hand.

"Have your crystals you do now back to Corusant to create your lightsaber" he announces and while they are walking back to the ship "troubling you something is padawan ?" Yoda asks Niall "Yes Master Yoda my kyber crystal is scaring me because of this" Niall opens his fist to reveal the red kyber crystal to which Yoda's eye widen in amazement to to furrowing "deliberate with the council I will see why is this" the young padawan nods and nothing more is siad about it

In the Meditation room

"Focus on your crystal padawans connect to it and be one through the force and then your lightsaber will be complete" Master Yoda instructed the padawans and Niall felt his pain from his pain but his happiness of his parents and felt the crystal's energy and focused on it and when he opened his eyes his double-bladed lightsabre was complete he had gone for a design similar to the ancient Jedi Bastila Shan but exchanged the colours for black and red while adding an extended emitter similiar to Master Tapal and he smiled at what he achieved while Master Yoda looked on in intrest and then left for the council room.

Niall admires his lightsaber but doesnt ignite it and the rest of the padawans have "come Niall turn it on let's see it" Kassandra told him with a hand on her hip and after that the others were intrested and Mat Ivis put his hand on Niall's shoulder "what's the worst that could happen" and with that and a smile Niall ignited both ends of his saber and everybody froze and looked at Niall with a mix of surprise and fear "Niall are you a Dark Side user" Kate Maf asked while her hand gripped her saber firmly "no I'm not I dont know why my crystal is red Master Yoda is speaking with the council to see what it could mean" the rest were content with Nialls answer and they all headed to the cafeteria.

In the Cafeteria

"You'll be fine fine Niall trust me" Leon reassured him "hopefully" Niall mumbles with a feeling of dread eating away at him and he sees Master Yoda come up to him "Young Niall, the knowledge of your kyber crystal has the council deeming you to be put under Obi-wan's guidance as his apprentice" and with Yoda's words the dread that had been festering disappeared "Yes Master Yoda" he smiles and with that it brings us to the present"

Back to the present

Obi-wan looks at his padawan and see him deep in thought "something on your mind Niall" Niall shakes his head and and answers him "no I was just remembering of when I built my lightsaber" Obi-wan smiled remembering of when he built his.

"In that case we must prepare for our reconnaissance" Niall smiles "yes master" and follows quickly behind him.
