Twilight Sparkle was currently inside of her niece Flurry Heart's bedroom and She was singing her a lullaby that her mom sang to her at night as a filly and once the alicorn filly fell asleep Twilight layed her down on her bed for nice long sleep. She then walked out of the room smiling to herself as wandered through the crystal halls.
"Flurry is so cute when she sleeping! Shining and Cadence are so lucky to have her for daughter." She said to herself while feeling little down that she didn't have a child of her own to care for and raise but she knew that one day that she have a family of her own one day. While she thinking about this however she accidentally bumped into somepony and falling to the ground from the impact. The pony was a guard since she felt their armor.
"Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry, I should watched where I w-w-was..." She said but trailed off and blushed when she saw exactly who she bumped into. He was an orange pegasus with a bright blue mane tail, his cutie mark was a blue shield with a lightning bolt on it and his eyes were brilliant blue. This was Flash Sentry the same stallion she literally bumped into after her mission through the mirror.
"Oh don't worry your highness but we got stop bumping into each other like this." Flash said while he helped her to her hooves. They held each other's hooves while looking into their eyes but when they realized what they doing that longer than they intended to they let go immediately, looked away and blushed. Twilight then cleared her throat and turned back to pegasus while still blushing but it was hardly noticeable.
"Uh yeah definitely need to stop making such a bumpy entrance," She said while both started chuckling nervously. she then cleared her throat and looked at him, "Well, um it's good to see again Flash Sentry."
"You know my name your majesty?" Flash asked surprised that the Princess of friendship knew who he was.
"Princess Cadence told me who you were the last time we met," Twilight answered while fidgeted her hooves and started blushing some more, "and please just call Twilight, Flash. You and I are like friends now if like?"
Flash blushed a little from this and spoke, "Ok Twilight. So if we're friends now do you mind if I take off my helmet? I don't like really like wearing this thing." He asked her and she nodded in response. Flash then took off his helmet as blue blow back mane came out and he ran his hoof threw it as Twilight started to blush even more as she felt her heart beat very hard as she saw this and legs started to feel a little wobbly.
"Thanks, that old helmet always did number on mane plus it takes forever to get to that hairy situation." he said and Twilight after composing herself enough, laughed from his hair joke. She continued to look at the orange pegasus, sure he wasn't the Flash Sentry she meet at Canterlot High but the two of their were similar, in kind voices, funny personalities and noble charm. Plus she had to admit he was a bit handsome and when she looked into his eyes she thought she saw them sparkle a bit, like a pair beautiful sapphires and she smile at this thought.
Flash meanwhile couldn't deny that Twilight looked beautiful but she was already beautiful before she was a princess since he had a crush on her when they were growing up in canterlot, he admire her intelligent, confident and scholar personality. He really wanted ask her out back then but he grew out of the crush when she left for Ponyville and her ascension to an alicorn. Not to mention she was his captain's little sister so asking to date her would practically a death wish so he kept a secret from everyone but his family, But now that Twilight was here right infront of her those feelings for her began to return as he looked at her gorgeous eyes, he noticed how they shimmered like two flawless amethysts jewels.
The two the continued to stare at each other but the sound of hoofsteps approaching caused them to break eye contact as Flash hastily put his Helmet back on as Shining Armor approached, "Hey Twily what's up? Sentry, What are you two doing here?" He asked.
Flash started sweating but before he could talk Twilight be him to it, "Oh nothing BBBFF! I just left Flurry in her room for some sleep and I ran into Flash but uh, nothing is going on!" Twilight said hastily as Flash nodded rapidly, "Yes sir! We just bumped into eachother nothing more!"
Shining look at the two and nodded, "Ok if you say so, but for a second there I thought that something was going on between you two." He laughed as Flash and Twilight started laughing too but more nervously.
"It wasn't that funny." Shining said as the two of them stopped laughing and shifted their eyes.
"Well I suppose I'll see you boys later Bye!"
And with that Twilight left as Flash saluted to Shining Armor and left with him actually wondering what his sister and one of his guards. Meanwhile Twilight was blushing while thoughts in her head were spiraling 'That was close. I don't know WHAT could have happen if Shining saw me with Flash, but why am so worried and why did my heart feel like it was going to jump out of chest when I thought I saw Flash's eyes sparkle?' she wondered while still trotting to her guest room.
At the same time Flash was marching through the crystal halls while in his head he was thinking about what just happened with Twilight 'Too close if Captain Armor found out what we were doing, but still it's hard not to attracted to Twilight beauty and smart mare personality. I just wish I could tell her how I feel for her.' he thought sadly knowing he didn't have a chance with a princess as continue to patrol the castle.
When nightfall came Twilight was currently on her bed trying to fall asleep but she couldn't, she was tossing, turning and grunting because every time she closed her eyes images of the orange pegasus kept appearing in her dreams. Eventually she gave up trying to sleep and sat up groaning, feeling very confused about this thoughts and feelings running through her until she heard somepony open her door. She turned to see Princess Cadence entering her room.
"Cadence? what are you doing here?" she asked as she got off her bed.
Cadence smiled as she approached her sister-in-law, "I was about to turn in for the night when I heard you trying to fall asleep so I decided to investigate, are you ok?" she asked softy.
Twilight looked at little uncomfortable before responding, "It's nothing, I'm fine." But Cadence was persistent and she wrapped a wing around Twilight and gave her a gentle smile.
"Twilight, we're sisters. If something's bothering you, you can just tell me."
Twilight looked at her sister for moment before sighing and then nodded. As she felt Cadence remove her wing, she took a deep breath in and out then spoke, "Well early today when I left Flurry Heart I ran into that Flash Sentry stallion again." she said.
"And?" Cadence asked having idea where this was going.
"And we started talking and start feel a little weak around my knee when he took off his helmet. Then when I looked into his eyes I thought I saw them sparkle a bit." Twilight finished while her cheeks turned pink a bit.
"So you DO have a thing for him!~" Cadence concluded while grinning and Twilight blushed furiously from this statement.
"WHAT?! No! I-I don't have a crush on Flash! I just enjoy his company that's all!" Twilight denied as she turned from her sister-in-law.
Cadence giggled knowing Twilight was lying even to herself and walked up next her, "Twilight, I'm the Princess of Love and I've seen this scenario over a hundred times. So try as you might you can't deny what I say is true." she said.
Twilight looked at her annoyed but she knew that Cadence knew more about love than she did, so she must know when and how much somepony loves another. Then she couldn't believe what was happening, she was in love with a guard's pony and one of her brother's Guard's pony and he didn't know about and she panicked from this thought.
"Please don't tell Shining Armor Cadence!" Twilight pleaded, "If he finds I love Flash, he'll take out on him and-"
She was cut-off when Cadence put a feather to her mouth. "Don't worry Twilight what happens in this room will be kept between you and me, Shining Armor won't know anything about this," Cadence assured her as she moved her wing away from Twilight muzzle and she smiled as soon as it did, "but you should let Flash know how you truly feel about him." Twilight frowned and looked at the floor sadly.
"But...I don't know if I can. I'm the Princess of Friendship, love is completely new to me. I'm scared." She admitted then she felt Cadence tilt her head up so she could look at her smiling.
"Oh Twilight, feeling scared about loving somepony is perfectly normal, believe me it was pretty nerve-racking for me to confess my feelings to Shining, but love and friendship aren't so different from eachother," Cadence explained while found it surprising that 'Cadence' of all pony was scared to tell her big brother she loved him, "you can start out as friends then you can move on to be couple once you feel comfortable. I'm not asking you to tell him now, just tell him once you feel more prepared."
Twilight thought about this, while she worried about having a relationship with Flash or with how Shining Armor would react from discovering it, she would like to feel the joy of dating a coltfriend, being married to him months later and then later raise a family with him. She then hugged Cadence and spoke to her gratefully. "Thank you Cadence. I should Flash how I feel but I just want the time to be right." Cadence nodded in understanding.
"Ok Twilight, I gotta go, Shining's probably missing right now." Cadence said and the two mares laugh at her joke. While Twilight back into her bed now feeling more at ease to sleep now, Cadence than left the room and walk to her's and Shining Armor's room while feeling happy that Twilight was in love now, 'I'm so glad Twilight has finally found somepony to love I hope it works out for her.' she thought as she continue to walk to her bedroom.
Twilight was wandering through a field at night she watched as the stars twinkles and fireflies flew around shining their lights. Despite how dark it was Twilight felt very at peace especially with the handsome orange pegasus stallion next her, then the two of them gave each other a loving nuzzle. While Flash was distracted Twilight sneaked a peck on his cheek while he had his shock Twilight made a sly grin and ran off then Flash grinned knowing and chased after the alicorn. The chased each other and laughed through the large grassland before Flash pounced on Twilight sending them tumbling to the ground with both at each other's side smiling. Twilight rested her head on Flash's shoulder and Flash wrapped a wing around her and rested his chin on her head both feeling very at peace. Twilight felt more happy than she ever had in her life even though she knew this was only dream she knew that one it would be reality.
What she didn't that she and the dream version Flash weren't alone, from above hiding on a cloud watch was a dark blue Alicorn with bellowing of stars with regalia, and a white crescent moon on top of black splodge who smiling. "Well this is very interesting," she said before standing up, "Tia might want to her about this and to you Twilight Sparkle I can assure you as long follow your heart this dream will come true.
With that she took off a disappeared into the dreamscape.
