Writing used to be an escape for me, as the time has gone by its something that I lost a passion f or. Hoping I can get back on the writing track and give you guys a great story. Rated M for mature content. Without further ado here is Blood Moon. Disclaimer: I do not own Sailor Moon

Chapter 1 Blood and Moonlight

The woman ran through the woods. Leaves crunched beneath her bare feet and twigs scraped painfully across her nude figure. She clung to the bundle in her arms even closer to her body trying to shield it from any harm. Her head was pounding, she focused on the sound of her heavy breathing as she ran, and she dared not look back. Running from the gruesome scene of her pack ripped to shreds, running from the lifeless form of her mate, running from those that pursued her.

She had fled the mansion where hours before friends and family had gathered to welcome a new pup into the world. All of the Lunar pack had assembled to welcome the princess on the full moon. This child was a blessing, there had not been a child of the moon born into the lunar pack in years. There were other pups born yes but to be born on the night of a full moon only happened once every century. This child was destined to unite the packs and put an end to the war.

The attack came out of nowhere. Selene had just left the banquet hall to feed the pup, walking into the nursery she heard the screams of terror as her pack was ambushed. The wolves had descended without so much as a warning. Her pack had no time to react and in their human form they did not stand a chance. Selene grabbed the pure white pup from the crib. The child must have shifted in her sleep to her wolf form. Selene felt the transition shoot through her body. Fur began to sprout from her skin as her spine cracked and curved. Her wolf senses took over, the smell of blood hit her like a ton of bricks. Scooping the white pup into her mouth she ran from the nursery and down the stairs. Her body froze in horror at the site that lay before her. Appendages sprawled across the floor and blood splatters covered the walls. Her eyes fell on the lifeless form of her mate, his golden locks matted with blood his blue eyes vacant. There was a flash of movement she barely had time to dodge the wolf that lunged at her jugular. The Brown wolf tore into Selenes silver coat ripping a chunk of flesh. A whimper escaped her muzzle. She did not have time to register the pain. The silver wolf sprinted for the busted down front entrance and was racing towards the woods the invading packs assassins at her heels.

Selene was flying through the woods, she was known for her speed and agility. These were her woods. She had traveled them as a child and with her mate many times. These woods were a second home to her. The sounds of the pack of wolves chasing her grew distant as she headed for the border to the neighboring packs territory. Selenes vision was wavering, she could feel her warm blood matting into her fur. Her silver coat was now stained Crimson, still she ran with all the life she had in her. A glowing warm light began to take form not too far ahead. The change back to her human form was swift as she hopped a fence. Selene found herself in the back yard of a home she did not know. She did not have much time, the wolves that pursued her were surely tracking her scent and closing in. The pup stirred opening her blue eyes and staring up at her mother bathed in moonlight. The pup shifted back to her human form. The babe out reached her hand to her mothers face cooing. Selene placed the babes fingers against her lips. Selene cradled her daughter taking in as much of her scent as possible. The babe smelled of summer, crisp clean air that you get after a thunder storm with a hint of rose. Selene placed one last kiss to her daughters head and gently laid her at the back door before shifting back into her wolf. She hopped the fence and ran in the opposite direction of the house. She did not know whom lived there but hoped with all her being they would be able to care for her child.

Selene ran a few miles out and came to a clearing and knew she had to get invading pack on her scent to distract them from her child. She stilled her breathing and perked her ears up. They were closing in drawing nearer to the house and not her. Selene had to act fast. She lifted her muzzle towards the night sky and let out a long howl. She sniffed the air and listened. The pack had changed direction and were heading straight towards her. Glowing eyes appeared from the brush, she was surrounded. Selene shifted into her human form. Her porcelain skin and silver locks glowed in the moonlight. "Show yourselves." She demanded. The brown wolf from the estate shifted before her. She tried to hold back a small gasp as she took the man that now stood before her. The Alpha of the Dark moon pack stood before her. Selene could not hide the shock that came across her face. The Dark Moon pack had made a truce with the Lunar pack not even three days ago. There were plans of combining the packs to raise their numbers and begin talks of reaching out to surrounding packs to form peace and eventually unite all.

The Alphas mouth curved into a smirk. "You and Apollo were fools to think we would submit and follow you to unite the packs. I have one plan, to become the strongest Alpha and lay claim to all territories and be the one true Alpha. To keep the bloodlines pure and rid of us of the humans. Join us stand by my side. Be my queen and together we can rise to our true nature. Come out of hiding and be the apex predators we are born to be." The Dark Moon Alpha extended his hand toward Selene. "You killed my friends….my family….my mate. I will never stand by your side. I would rather die a thousand deaths." Selene hissed. The alpha narrowed his eyes and raised his hand in one quick movement and brought it across Selenes throat. "So be it." The Alpha left his hand in the air in front of his face. His hand half shifted. Long claws extended from his fingertips. Selenes crystal blue eyes grew wide as blood poured from the wounds now across her neck. Her body crumpled to the ground, choking on her own blood. Selene took her last breath bathed in blood and moonlight.
