—August 5, 10:15 AM—
In the city of Los Angeles, the streets were brimming with activity. In the mid city was a tall office building, holding a space that bore special significance. This office space was known as the Wright Anything Agency, a law firm/talent agency that has been involved in some of the biggest legal cases in recent memory. The office itself was a mangled mess of magic props and case files.
Inside of the office bathroom with a toilet brush in hand was a young woman who looked to be twenty. She had sky blue eyes and light brown hair. Her hair consisted of large bangs that swayed to her right while the left had a long side ponytail held together by a light blue ribbon. Her attire consisted of a white button shirt underneath a small long sleeved yellow jacket, complete with a light blue tie. She also wore a short yellow skirt paired with black leggings and white boots. Completing the ensemble was an earring in the shape of a crescent moon, a black glove on her right hand, and a curious necklace with a strange device attached.
"My name is Athena Cykes. I'm a defense attorney who specializes in analytical psychology. I'm not the most experienced lawyer out there, but I'm a proud member of the Wright Anything Agency. Though sometimes I feel like I'm the resident toilet cleaner."
After putting the brush back in it's designated spot, and washing her hands thoroughly, Athena exited the restroom and sat down on the couch in the middle of the room. There hadn't been much to do around the office lately, other than look at the messy state of the space and think, 'Maybe I'll clean that tomorrow.'
"Athena, any luck getting new clients?" Came a man's voice. Athena turned her head to find a middle aged man standing next to her. He was dressed in a fairly basic blue suit with the coat unbuttoned. He also wore a pink tie underneath his white button vest, complimenting his white collar shirt. The most striking feature about this man was his black hair, which was combed backward in a way that made it spiked. He did have one tuft of spiked hair drape over his forehead.
"This is my boss, the legendary Phoenix Wright, a defense attorney known throughout the legal world as the Turnabout Terror, a man capable of turning the most hopeless of cases on their heads. I've been working under his employ for almost two years now, and it's been one crazy ride."
"Sorry, Boss," Athena replied, "Business is slow, as usual."
That's how it was for the Wright Anything Agency, there would be long stretches of time before any clients arrived.
"Yeah, I figured as much," Phoenix responded despondently, "You'd think that toppling a corrupt regime would bring in more business."
Another voice spoke out, this one being female, "Maybe we can ask Polly to send some of his clients our way!"
She was a teenage girl, sporting sky blue eyes and neatly trimmed brunette hair. She was wearing a simple sleeveless black dress paired with a red ascot, a blue heart shaped knapsack, a blue cape with patterned pink diamonds on the end, a blue top hat, and white gloves and boots.
"The girl in the magician costume is Trucy, head of the agency's magic division and Mr. Wright's adopted daughter. She has a tendency to boss me around even though I'm older than her."
"I don't know if Apollo would let us," Phoenix commented, "He said he needed to rebuild Khura'in's legal system on his own terms. He have to respect his wishes."
("Ever since Apollo stayed behind in Khura'in all those months ago, the office has never felt the same.")
"You know, I thought becoming a lawyer would bring excitement on a regular basis," Athena commented.
"Yeah, the calm before the storm is really long around here," Phoenix added, before his eyes widened all of a sudden, "Oh, yeah! I forgot to mention, I need to be heading off soon."
Athena put her hands to her hips in confusion, "Huh? Where are you going?"
"You didn't hear, Athena," Trucy had a wide smile on her face as she lightly bounced in place, "Daddy's gonna be in the movies!"
"WHHHAAAAATTTT?!" Athena jolted upwards, throwing her hands on her cheeks.
"Well, not exactly," Phoenix clarified, "I've been invited to make a cameo appearance in an upcoming court film."
"Still, that's awesome!" Athena displayed her excitement by throwing her superior a peace sign, "You're so famous that you're starting to be in movies! Say, do you know who's in it?"
"Some woman named Lindsey Thorndyke if I'm not mistaken," Phoenix answered. Athena brought both her hands to her face in shock.
"Lindsey Thorndyke?!" Athena gasped, "No way, I love her films!"
"You know about her?" Phoenix inquired.
"Lindsey Thorndyke is only the biggest movie star in the world!" Trucy informed with her hands on her hips, "Really, daddy, you're too out of the loop sometimes."
"Hehe, what can I say?" Phoenix rubbed the back of his head in embarrassment.
"Ooh, can I come with you?!" Athena requested, clasping her hands together, "I've always wanted to see a movie set!"
"I don't see why not," Phoenix agreed to Athena's request.
"Aww," Trucy looked downcast, "I have a magic show to do later on. I wanna see the set too."
"Sorry, Trucy," Phoenix apologized to his daughter, "We need someone to rake in the income."
"That's because you two keep lazing about!" Trucy countered, her hands still on her hips, "You two barely do any lawyering!"
("I can't exactly argue with that.")
"Regardless, we should get going now Athena," Phoenix informed, "We have to find transportation to the courthouse."
The mention of the courthouse threw Athena for a loop, "The courthouse? I thought we were going to a movie set."
"We are, but the film is being filmed in the courthouse," Phoenix clarified.
"Oh, I see."
("How in the world did the filmmakers get to do that?")
"Anyway, we should get going," Phoenix said.
"Alright!" Athena flashed a toothy smile. This was going to be amazing!
—August 5, 12:30 P.M—
District Courthouse, Lobby
("Why did I even come here again?")
Athena came along with Phoenix to the film set, only for her to be denied entry, thus meaning she had to wait outside while the crew were filming. She sat down on a bench with her chin on her hands, her expression pure grumpiness.
("I still can't believe they got to film a movie at the courthouse of all places. And the boss gets to make an appearance in the film. It must feel really good to be that recognized in your profession.")
In her boredom, Athena looked up to find a strange sight. It was a fox. However, it was not any kind of fox she was familiar with. He was walking on two feet just like a regular person. In fact, his general body shape matched that of a little boy. He even wore red sneakers with white toes paired with white socks. He also wore white gloves. His fur was yellow with white on his chest and muzzle. Atop his head were three tufts of fur sticking out, almost resembling bangs. His eyes were enormous, showing his large ocean blue isis's. It wasn't enough that he was an anthropomorphic fox, for this creature had one more strange characteristic. This fox had two bushy tails, two perfectly symmetrical tails that connected to the end of his spine rather than one. The creature walked through the lobby towards the exit. Before he left, he took notice of Athena all by her lonesome.
"Hey there," The fox greeted with a smile. Athena jumped out of her bench, a giddy expression on her features.
"Oh my gosh, you are so cute!" Athena gushed, grasping her hands together, "You're like a giant stuffed animal!"
The fox reeled back from her reaction, his eyes growing wide, "Please don't call me a stuffed animal. I get enough people trying to hug my tails as is."
"Sorry, I just can't help myself sometimes," Athena said, "Your name's Tails, right?"
"Oh, you know who I am," The creature known as Tails stated matter of factly, not out of surprise. His reaction indicated that he was used to being recognized.
"Yeah, I see you on the news alot," Athena commented, "You fight alongside the heroic Sonic the Hedgehog against the evil Dr. Eggman!"
"Heh, yeah, that's right," Tails replied with a nod.
"You're not usually in Los Angeles, though," Athena noted, "You're usually in a place called Station Square, right?"
"Yeah, but my friends and I were invited to a behind the scenes look at Lindsey Thorndyke's newest film," Tails explained.
Athena jolted in shock, "Really?! How in the world did you get that kind of honor?"
"My friends and I are friends with Lindsey's son," Tails answered with a shrug, "Say, I didn't get your name."
"Oh, right," Athena adopted a more formal attitude, "My name's Athena Cykes. It's great to meet you, Tails."
"Likewise, Athena," Tails courteously responded. The fox then took special notice of the device around her neck, "Hey, Athena, is that necklace you're wearing some kind of super computer?"
Athena had trouble holding back her shock, "What, how did know it was a super computer?"
"Uh, lucky guess..." Tails rubbed the back of his head.
"Still, that's an impressive guess," Athena complimented, "This here is Widget. He's an artificial intelligence that's linked to my emotions. Sometimes he'll even say what I'm thinking," As if on comand, widget began speaking in his robotic voice.
["He's so cute! I just wanna hug him forever!"]
Tails reeled back in surprise, now looking at Athena with wider eyes than before. The yellow clad girl could only remain in awkward silence. She just had to test her luck.
("Great, now he thinks I'm weird. Thanks alot, Widget...")
"So, uh... how's the filming going?" Athena asked, desperate to change the subject. Thankfully for her, Tails seemed to recover from his shock quickly.
"I can't really say," Tails said truthfully, "The whole thing kinda bored me."
"Wait... really?" Athena could in no way comprehend how a courtroom movie could be boring.
"Yeah, all they characters did was talk about boring stuff," Tails shrugged, "I'd rather watch something more exciting."
"Courtroom dramas are all kinds of exciting!" Athena protested, clenching her fists. Tails reeled back, not expecting Athena to be this passionate, "You just had to sit through the boring parts. Imagine this: The Judge has haded down the guilty verdict. Just then, when all seems lost, a surprise witness appears! Through his testimony, the dashing lawyer is able to make her glorious turnabout with a piece of evidence she had been holding onto for so long. The gallery gasps in shock, the Judge recoils, the Prosecution admits defeat! The whole case is turned on it's head! Lies become truths! Truths become lies!" As soon as she finished her tangent, Athena had to catch her breath.
"Wow, you're really into courtroom stuff, aren't you, Athena," Tails noted, taken aback by Athena's enthusiasm.
"Well, I guess it comes with my profession," Athena said, "I am a defense attorney after all."
"Wait," Tails' eyes widened yet again, "You're a lawyer?"
"Sure am!" Athena replied, a prideful smile etching on her face. She then removed the badge on her coat and presented it to the little fox—well, more like she shoved it in his face, "See, this badge is proof of my profession."
Tails reeled back from having Athena's badge so close to his face, "Huh, I never would have taken you for a lawyer," He commented.
"What, why's that?" Athena inquired incredulously, pulling her arm back. The little fox backpedaled in fear, worried he might have said something to offend her.
"Well, uh, you don't exactly dress like any lawyer I've heard of," He rubbed the back of his head nervously. Athena stared at Tails with raised eyebrows.
("What's he talking about?! My clothes are very lawyer-y. Awww, he's too cute to get mad at.")
"Well, I am a lawyer," Athena reaffirmed, "My boss is one of the most famous attorneys in the world. He's actually making a guest appearance in the new Lindsay Thorndyke film."
"Wait—Is he the guy with the spiky hair and the blue suit?" Tails asked.
"Yup, that's him!" Athena replied, "Phoenix Wright himself!"
("Figures the boss' hair would be what Tails remembers.")
"He kinda looks like Sonic, doncha think?" Tails remarked, "He's got the spiky hair, and he wears blue."
Athena chuckled at Tails' comparisons, "Yeah, I guess you got a point there!"
"The two of us talked for a long while. I told Tails about the crazy adventures I've had, convicting the Phantom on the witness stand, traveling to Khura'in, and all the other experiences I've had with Phoenix and Apollo. Tails told me about the various adventures he's had with his friends, even the ones not reported on T.V. Tails is an inventor, a mechanic, and a pilot. And he's only eight years old. EIGHT! I thought me being a lawyer and a psychologist at eighteen was impressive. It was strange, I felt some sort of weird kinship with Tails. His two tails could be used as propeller blades, making him achieve flight. I couldn't help but be reminded of my special ability. You see, I was born with enhanced hearing. As a result, I can hear the feelings deep inside another's heart. When I was a little girl, I thought it was a curse. Now that I'm older, I understand that my special hearing is a gift."
"You know, Tails, you should check out one of my boss' trials," Athena suggested with a grin, "If anything will get you to like courtroom proceedings, its watching Phoenix Wright in action!"
"Is he really that good?" Tails had listened to Athena's story about Phoenix and his accomplishments as a lawyer. All of it seemed exaggerated.
"Absoluto!" Athena responded, peppering her language with Spanish, "He inspired an entire generation of defense attorneys with his famous bluffing tactic!"
"Man, you guys must be super rich with how famous you are!" Tails commented.
Athena's cheerfully demeanor evaporated after he said that, "Yeah, I wish..." She said sadly, reminding herself just how low on money she really was.
("With my income, I feel like I'll have to live off Instant Noodles soon. Hmmm... Maybe I could earn more money by helping Trucy with her magic show.")
Tails found himself gazing at the clock on the wall. His and Athena's conversation went on longer than he thought. It was now 2:30 P.M.
"Waaahhhhh!" Tails panicked, "I completely lost track of time!"
"Wait is it?" Athena asked with concern, "Do you need to be somewhere?"
"I need to make preparations for tomorrow!" Tails explained frantically, "I'm gonna be in The Great Inventor's Showcase! I have to make sire everything's perfect!"
Athena reeled back upon hearing this news, "Really? Your in The Great Inventor's Showcase?! The largest gathering of scientific minds in the world?"
"Sure am!" The little fox stood proudly, "I've got something that's going to blow everyone's socks off!"
Athena smiled, hands on hips, "In that case, I will lend you my support!"
"Huh?"
"I'll be right there in the audience cheering you on!" Athena gave Tails a peace sign to show her support.
Tails smiled in appreciation, "Thanks, Athena."
"By the way, what is it? Your invention?" Athena pleaded to know.
"Heh," Tails rubbed the bottom of his nose mockingly, his eyes closed and his chin held high, "I can't tell you, you'll learn what it is later."
Athena lowered her head, looking away while she gripped her arm, "Aww, but I want to know now..." Tails laughed at Athena's childishness.
"Just like that, a new friendship was born. Little did I know that this chance meeting would lead to a sequence of events that would greatly test the both of us."
—August 6, 11:30 A.M—
Sunshine Coliseum
Athena walked inside the lobby, taking in the large crowds and banners advertising the event. Yesterday, she wouldn't have thought to come here. But now, she had a new friend to lend support.
"Athena!" Called out a woman's voice. Athen turned around to find a familiar face running towards her. She was a woman in her mid twenties with gray eyes and brown hair that went past her shoulders. There was a bit of her hair that was tied up in a short ponytail. Her attire consisted of a white lab coat over a green buttoned vest and a light red ascot. She also wore brown khakis, black slippers, and a pair of white rimmed glasses with rose tinted lenses. Slung across her shoulder was a strap holding a brown satchel carrying various chemicals. On her arm was a red band that read, 'Forensics.'
"Oh, hi Ema!" Athena waved as the woman named Ema ran up to the yellow clad lawyer.
"That's Ema Skye, a Forensics Detective who works for the local precinct. She's helped out on a few cases in the past."
"What are you doing here?" Athena questioned.
"'What am I doing here?'" Ema repeated, "The question is 'why wouldn't I be here?!'" She clenched her fists in excitement, "The Great Inventor's Showcase: The greatest scientific minds around the world presenting recent scientific advancements in front of a live audience! I wouldn't miss this for the world! I made sure to save up my day off for this, and nothing is going to stop me from enjoying this day!"
Athena wasn't expecting such a passionate response from Ema.
("I shouldn't really be surprised. Ema always has a twinkle in her eye when she gets to show off her forensics skills.")
"So why are you here, Athena?" Ema ask with a finger on her chin, "You don't strike me as someone who goes out of her way to learn the latest scientific advancements."
Athena puffed up her cheeks in offense, "I'll have you know that I grew up with robots."
"You did!" Ema gasped in shock.
"But really," Athena interjected before Ema would ask a million questions, "I'm here to cheer on my new friend."
"Your new friend?" Ema was stricken with curiosity. Was it someone she knew about?
"Yeah, he's going to be presenting in the Showcase," Athena elaborated with a smile.
"Who is it?"
"Well," Athena paused for a moment. How could she explain her meeting with Tails? "It's kind of a strange story."
"Go ahead," Ema encouraged, "We still have time before the event begins."
"Alright," Athena nodded, " It all happened yesterday—"
The conversation was interrupted by a piercing scream. The entire entry hall was stunned into silence. The scream was high pitched and very loud. From the sound, it seemed to originate from outside.
"Did you hear that?" Ema inquired with clear concern in her voice.
"That sounded like a little girl!" Athena exclaimed.
"C'mon!" Ema commanded, running outside with Athena close by. Outside, far off from the entrance, there was a group of people coalescing on a single point, with many more running off in a panic.
("What in the world is going on?!")
Ema ran towards the condensed crowd, pushing bystanders out of the way so she could see what the fuss was about. Once she got a clear picture of what the fuss was about, the forensics detective covered her mouth in shock.
Athena made her way over, shoving bystanders away much more forcefully. That's when she saw it. A man face down on the concrete, his limbs contorted in unnatural ways. A large blood splatter was around the body, the copper-scented substance secreting into the cracks that formed recently.
This man was dead.
"OH MY GOSH!" Athena screamed.
"Somebody call the police!" A woman screamed.
"The police arrived shortly after. They ordered the attendees to stay inside while they investigated the body. Ema stayed outside to aid in the investigation. I should feel familiar with death after the experiences I've had, but seeing a dead body always gives me chills. No one ever expects to see a dead person."
Athena paced in place for what seemed like an eternity. What a time for tragedy to hit.
("I really hope Tails is okay.")
The staff wasn't allowing anyone not involved with the presentation near the show room. And with a possible murderer on the loose, Athena was deathly concerned.
"Tails, where are you?!" Yelled a boy's voice. Athena snapped out of her trance.
("Who was that?")
She looked over at the source of the voice. There were two individuals. One was a twelve year old boy with spiky ginger hair and blue eyes. He wore a red t-shirt with white sleeves over a black long-sleeved shirt, blue jeans, and blue and yellow shoes over white socks. The other was far stranger. She was a three foot tall female hedgehog with pink fur, green eyes, peach colored arms and muzzle, and quills that were styled to resemble a bob cut. She wore white gloves with gold wristbands, a red backless dress with a short skirt that flared out, and red and white high heeled boots.
"Tails!" The hedgehog called out. Seeing that they had the same goal in mind as her, Athena walked over to them.
"Excuse me," Athena approached, catching the two's attention, "You two are looking for Tails, right?"
"Huh?" The boy tilted his head, "Who're you? And how do you know Tails?"
"My name's Athena," She introduced with a bow of her head, "I'm a friend of Tails," the young lawyer casted a glance at the pink hedgehog. Athena's seen the news reports of the creatures from another world, so she was familiar with them all, "You're Amy, correct?"
The girl known as Amy put her hands on her hips as she put a smug face on. Clearly, she appreciated being recognized.
"Now that I think about it, Tails did mention someone named Athena yesterday," The boy thought out loud. If this strangely dressed woman was a friend of Tails, then she probably could be trusted, "I'm Chris. I don't suppose you know where Tails is?"
"Sorry, but I'm in the dark as much as you are," Athena admitted.
Chris' face fell, "Oh..."
("This isn't good, the alert's been in place for a while now, and Tails hasn't been seen anywhere. I really hope nothing bad happened to him.")
"Hey, guys!" Yelled a familiar voice. The three of them turned their heads to see Tails flying towards them. Just as Athena's seen on T.V before, Tails was spinning his namesakes so fast that they appeared as a spinning blur. The little fox landed in front of the group, where Amy stomped forward.
"There you are, Tails!" Amy confronted, making the fox cub uneasy, "We were worried sick about you!"
Tails crossed his arms, "Jeez, sorry," As soon as he saw Athena, his face brightened, "Oh, Athena! I see you met Chris and Amy."
Athena knelt down so that she was eye level with the fox, "I'm glad you're okay, Tails."
Tails looked puzzled, but he was appreciative nonetheless, "Guys, what's going on," He questioned, "Why is everything so crazy?"
The other three looked at Tails as if he had grown a third tail, "Tails, do you have any idea what's going on?" Amy said in annoyance, "There's a dead guy outside!"
"WHAT?!" Tails screamed, his fur standing on end, "Someone died?!"
The others look at the little fox in confusion, "Tails, how in the world do you not know what's happening?" Athena inquired.
Tails looked down at the ground, fiddling with his namesakes, "Well, ya see—"
Tails stopped when the sound of numerous boots stomping all at once assaulted everyone's ears. A swarm of men in police uniforms stormed inside the venue. Whoever they were, they moved with purpose and vigor. Using their bodies as an obstacle and standing at attention, they all formed a walkway between Athena's group and the main entrance.
From the entry way walked in a man dressed differently than the officers. He was a man with dirty blonde hair that was combed upwards, the way it was styled gave the impression that he had wolf ears. Moreover, his toothy smile revealed that he had some prominent fangs. His brow was furrowed, further adding to his intimidating appearance. His attire consisted of x-rimmed sunglasses, a high collar black shirt outlined with gold, a black jacket with a golden dragon emblazoned on the back and white fur trimmings, a belt with a golden belt buckle, black pants, and dark gray boots with straps on their sides. He walked over to the group with his hands held in his pockets.
"Well, well, well," He said, stylishly taking off his sunglasses, "The wolf finds his prey."
"I beg your pardon," Athena said, her nerves starting to go out.
("Just looking at this guy gives me the willies.")
["Scary man!"]
"Widget!" Athena shouted, worried that that outburst might have aggravated this newcomer in some way.
"Oh relax, I ain't the big bad wolf," He assured, although that did little to alleviate Athena's worry.
"Who do you think you are?!" Amy questioned, throwing an accusatory finger at him, "You have your cronies seal the place off and stroll in here like you own the place!"
The man was not phased in the slightest. He simply put his hands together in a prayer like fashion and adopted a humble disposition, "Lang Zi says: A cub who disrespects others soon feels the disciplinary bite of an elder," He stated with a smirk.
("What's he talking about? Who the heck is Lang Zi?")
"Who are you calling a cub?!" The pink hedgehog grew even more agitated.
"Don't go interfering with police business now, pinkie," The man fired back, still unfazed by Amy's threats. The pink hedgehog was fuming at his dismissive attitude.
"Hang on, you're a cop?" Chris asked.
"You stand before the mighty Agent Shi Long Lang!" One of the officers introduced him, "Interpol's finest investigator!"
"Don't throw me on the stand like that!" Lang shouted, causing the officer who spoke to flinch back, "You're acting as if I'm the one doing all the work. Every single one of you contributes to the success of this pack! Don't ever think you're not important, that's an order!"
"You honor us with your kind words, Shifu!" The same officer saluted.
("Wow, this guy really values his men.")
"What's an Interpol agent doing in a place like this?" Chris questioned.
"I'm sure you've all noticed the dead body outside," Agent Lang explained, "And I've set my eyes on the culprit," He dramatically raised his arm, accusingly pointing his finger at someone, "And that someone is you!"
The group all gasped in shock, none more so than who agent Lang pointed at.
"WHAT?! ME?!" Tails hysterically screamed.
"Wait, you think he murdered someone?" Athena relayed to Lang. The Interpol agent did not respond, instead he lifted his arm in the air and snapped his fingers. In an instant, two officers approached and grabbed Tails by both of his arms. The little fox began panicking as the officers started to take him away.
"What are you doing?!" Athena screamed, unable to comprehend why Tails was being arrested.
"Bringing him in for questioning," Lang answered, putting his glasses back on. He turned around to make his leave.
"Wait! I didn't do anything!" Tails pleaded as he was being carried to the front door.
"Tails!" Athena yelled. Just then, Amy charged towards Agent Lang with a large and comical looking red hammer.
"Get back here you big bully!" She yelled. Athena reeled back in shock from Amy's aggressiveness. Chris on the other hand grew fearful, indicating that he's seen Amy like this before.
Before anyone could comprehend it, Lang had Amy in a chokehold. Her hammer clattered on the ground. Everyone froze, even the officers who were hauling Tails away, completely stuck in awe at the reaction timing and strength of Agent Lang. Amy struggled against Lang's hold, but to no avail.
"Interfering with police work and attempting assault on an officer?" Lang questioned Amy incredulously, "Those are some serious crimes!" He snapped his fingers. In an instant, two of his men ran forward and grabbed Amy's arms.
"This is a violation of my rights! Put me down this instant! This is outrageous!" Amy ranted as she was carted away. Her continued protests grew quieter.
Agent Lang turned his attention to the officers holding Tails, "Well, what are you two waiting for? Let's bring him in!" He ordered. The officers nodded, leading Tails outside as he pleaded his innocence. His cries fell on death ears.
Athena watched as all of this unfolded before her. Her eyes narrowed, her teeth gritted, her fists clenched. She felt so helpless watching Tails get carted off like some criminal. She knew what she had to do.
"Tails! Don't worry! I'll defend you in court!"
Tails looked back at Athena. He heard her loud and clear. Just soon after, he was hauled away out the front entrance. Athena let out a breath she didn't know she was holding. There was nothing else for it, she needed to prove Tails' innocence.
"Just like that, I had a new client."
To be continued...
What? My next story isn't Kingdom Harmony Volume 2? Well, I have other projects I want to write, and this is something I wanted to do for a while now. Don't worry, I'm in the process of writing Volume 2.
Now for this story, I know that Sonic X and Ace Attorney don't share the same cannon, but for this story the two are blended together. If you're wondering about timeline stuff, I set this before the Chaos saga in Sonic X time and before Turnabout Time Traveler in Ace Attorney time. I hope you enjoy any future updates to this story.
