I have almost arrived in Skyrim! After months on that blasted ship I finally arrived at the capital city, Solitude. I hope my parents fare well alone in High Rock but Skyrim is one of the few places where I can freely practice magic.
Upon entering Solitude, I was greeted with an execution. After questioning the locals I've collected one vague recollection of the events that led up to this execution:
Ulfric Stormcloak, Jarl of Windhelm, challenged High King Torygg, King of Skyrim, in traditional combat for the throne. Ulfric used an ancient power called The Voice to shout Torygg to pieces. Ulfric fled the city and was aided in his escape by the gate guard, Roggvir.
Some say Roggvir is a traitor to Solitude and Skyrim while others say that Torygg was bested in combat and Roggvir was just doing his job. I am not a native to Skyrim and do not know enough to form an opinion on the matter.Ulfric's actions caused an explosion across Skyrim that had been boiling since before the Great War. Skyrim is now the home to a violent Civil War. I must be careful in my future travels.

I met an Argonian today who went by the name Jaree-Ra. He offered me a business opportunity that would give me enough septims to live out my life peacefully. All I have to do is put out the light in the Solitude lighthouse so that an incoming merchant ship runs ashore. I was concerned at first but as he went into greater detail he explained the merchant was a small portion in Solitude's vast trading income. I'm sure they would hardly notice the loss.
I have arrived at the lighthouse and put out the bonfire. Jaree-Ra instructed me to meet him at the docks when I complete my task. I must get going now, further entries will follow.
That bastard! It was all a setup. Jaree-Ra and his sister, Deeja, are actually the leaders of a group of dangerous criminals called the Blackblood Marauders here in Skyrim. This may be my last entry. I have been gravely injured and fled into the wilderness. It seems I have lost them in the woods. Upon my escape I was able to injure a few mauraders with a series of firebolts. If I survive this I vow to take vengeance upon Jaree-Ra and Deeja and make sure that this never happens to anyone else ever again.

It's been a whole day since I've written an entry. I managed to survive Deeja and her band of criminals and fled to an old Nordic ruin east of the merchant ship, I do not think they followed. I met a female Nord by the name of Anska. Over the course of the next day she used her restoration skills to heal me. She told me about her journey to this ruin and why she was here. Anska believes that her family's bloodline is connected to a powerful warrior called Ysgramor and the proof of that lies within this ruin. She has asked me to help her with retrieving the evidence in exchange for a lesson in destruction magic. I gladly accepted. What could go wrong?

Anska is dead. We started the day by clearing the dungeon of Draugr, undead ancient Nord warriors.
It was an easy job until we got to the last room. Anska rushed in looking for evidence and a dragon priest sent a lightning storm at her. While the priest was distracted I grabbed a scroll from a table and ran out of the room barely escaping with my life.

It's been about 2 days since my last entry. I found a dreary town called Morthal set in the marshlands. Townsfolk have been talking about a riot in an imperial town called Helgen by the border of Cyrodiil. To make matters worse, a man's house burned down in town. The man, Hroggar lost his wife and child in the fire and immediately moved in with another lover a day after. Some say he set the fire and some say it was an accident. Jarl Idgrod Ravencrone has offered a reward if I can find any evidence that Hroggar was behind the fire or not. On the bright side, there is a wizard in town, Falion. Maybe he can give me lessons on Illusion magic. I must go now. It's getting late and I have not even had supper yet.

I do not know why I get myself into these predicaments. It seems I cannot help but interfere with other people's problems. I began my day searching through the rubble of Hroggar's old house when a ghost of his dead daughter appeared out of thin air. I questioned her about the fire and she seemed scared of someone or something. She said that if I could find her in a game of hide and seek at nightfall she would tell me who set the fire. After nightfall I went back to Hroggar's house to begin my search for the ghost. Eventually I found a child's coffin that had been dug up on a hill behind Hroggar's house. Unfortunately a woman attacked me with some type of blood magic. I believe her to be a vampire. To protect my life I had to slay her. I should have never gotten involved with this town. I'm in too deep and now I feel as if I'm being followed.

I must get to the bottom of this mystery as soon as possible. I don't know who but I know that someone is keeping tabs on me. I informed the Jarl of the vampire and she told me the identity of the woman. Her name was Laelette, wife to Thonnir. I must speak to Thonnir. He might know something
I spoke to Thonnir. He knew nothing about Laelette being a vampire. About a week before I arrived in Morthal she disappeared. He assumed she went to join the rebellion. After further questioning he reported that she began to spend an unusual time with another woman named Alva and that they were supposed to meet on the night she disappeared. I believe that this investigation may run deeper than I would like. I must get permission from the Jarl to search Alva's house.
4E 201, 30th of Mid-Year
That damned Jarl rejected my request to have a couple guards search Alva's house. How am I supposed to complete this investigation with no support from the town's Jarl? I will have to wait for night to fall to break into her house. I must find evidence.
I've done it! I broke into Alva's house. Unfortunately Hroggar attacked me when I entered and I had to put him down too. Alva was nowhere to be found. Anyway, I've recovered Alva's journal and with it the evidence I need. It turns out Alva was also a vampire. She works for a master Vampire called Movarth. Movarth wants to take over the town and ordered Alva to discreetly gain minions for this task. She turned Laelette into a vampire and seduced Hroggar. Laelette was ordered Alva to get rid of Hroggar's family and she burned down the house which Alva didn't like. I was right, Alva was getting suspicious of me from the first day of my investigation. I must get this evidence to the Jarl right away. I can't write to my parents about this. They'll be so proud!

I gave all my evidence to the Jarl and she has sent about 10 guards and a local mercenary to Movarth's lair to clear it out. For my service she has given me 150 septims. That will be enough to get me set up for a month. I'm beginning to feel ill and I think Laelette's blood magic had something something to do with it. I just hope I'm wrong and if I'm not then my days are numbered.
I approached Falion with my request for him to teach me some Illusion magic and he refused. My sickness is getting worse and people in town are beginning to talk about my dealing with the vampire's. I've denied the claims and began hiding in my room at the tavern.
I feel my life slipping away. Falion came to visit me today and offered me a cure. I am still utterly confused. A cure for what? Ataxia, Rockjoint? I greatly accepted and he explained for me to meet him at dusk in the marsh lands for the cure.
Fuck! I'm writing this in the shade of a tree. The sunlight burns my skin raw. What has happened to me? I must have contracted vampirism from that damn Laelette. I must get to Falion but I will have to wait until the sun goes down completely.
4E 201, 2nd of Sun's Height
I'm cured! I do not know exactly what Falion because when the ritual started I passed out from exhaustion but when I woke up I felt reborn! I've been hearing talk about a so called Dragonborn residing in a city called Whiterun. I do not know much about what a Dragonborn is but the townsfolk told me that the Dragonborn carries the blood and soul of a dragon. They also said that the dragon from the legends of old have returned as well. I do not know what is going on but it seems to me that Skyrim has gone mad. Vampires, Civil War, criminals, and now dragons!?! I'm having conflicting thoughts. I came here for the Mage's College in Winterhold but the meeting the Dragonborn is a once and a lifetime opportunity. I know what I must do.
