Requested on Tumblr! Anonymous said: May I request prompt 1 "I'm sorry I scared you, I didn't mean to." for Sam Wilson? If you write for him? Thank you very much!
Scuttling around the counter the woman wiped her hair off her forehead with the back of her hand. She slid the bowl over to her, throwing the dough onto the counter and rolling it with a quickness she didn't know she possessed. She kneaded and rolled as gently as she could while still trying to maintain the speed she needed to have it all finished up by the time Sam got home.
She glanced at clock on the oven flinching when she saw the time and muttered a quiet damn.
The preheated oven beeped and she immediately started to separate the dough, twisting each piece into a pretzel before she placed them all onto the baking sheet. She brushed them with butter and gave them a nice covering of salt before she slid the baking tray into the oven and shut the door. A relieved sigh left her as she leaned onto the counter beside her, a sense of pride filling her chest.
Sam had taken a liking to homemade foods - ever since he tried her homemade pizza and never looked back - and she knew he'd appreciate the thought behind the pretzels. It was the first thing she'd ever bought him. She began to zone out, thinking back on how she met him in that coffee shop so long ago. She smiled as she remembered how quickly he took to flirting with her, bold and so very confident - something that hadn't changed at all in the time they'd been together.
"What's cookin', good lookin'," a sudden voice questioned, deep and teasing.
The woman screamed, her heart almost giving out, and she turned to throw the closest thing - the bottle of dish soap at the sink - toward the offending man. It hit him with a muted thud, bouncing off his chest and landing unceremoniously on the ground. The cap popped open and its contents spilled, pooling out onto the floor.
"Sam," she gasped, her eyes narrowed at him. "Why? Why can't you use the door like a normal person?"
The man climbed through the open window, a big smile on his lips. "And risk not putting these babies to use?" He questioned, motioning to the wings on his back. "C'mon, you know me better."
The woman tried to fight the grin that threatened to split her face in two. "Yeah, well... You scared me."
"I'm sorry I scared you, I didn't mean to," he apologized, puling out his best attempt at the puppy dog eyes that he swears he doesn't practice in the mirror. He stepped closer to her, wrapping her tightly in his arms as he lowered and gave her a sweet kiss.
She melted against him, eagerly returning his affection. She pulled back and smiled up at him. "I missed you."
"I'm all yours, baby" he told her earnestly. "Right after I get my hands on whatever's in that oven."
