Deku's dream had just been crushed before his eyes, in more ways than one. Above everything else he had heard and seen that day however, All Might's words had the most effect on him. " I cannot simply say you can become a hero even without power." All might was his inspiration, the physical embodiment of everything that had made Deku want to be a hero. For his own role model to tell him it was hopeless, to put it simply, had completely crushed him. It was at this point that Deku had completely given up on becoming a hero. At least now, he could look at things realistically without wasting his life on something that would always just be a figment of his imagination. A dream.

As Deku arrived at his house, he would quickly rush to his room as his mom asked how his day went. He knew that his mom had always blamed herself for him not having a Quirk, so he had decided that perhaps it would be easier for everyone if he held himself back from crying. At least, just this once. He had already caused enough trouble for others that day. As he went in his room, he closed the door and laid down in his bed. He needed to sort through everything that had just happened that day.

He thought about just how possible becoming a hero without a Quirk actually was. Nobody had ever done it before, nor had even come close pulling it off. He could have focused his energy on something like becoming a police officer, something that most likely would have made hima much happier person. Yet the only thing he wanted to do was become a hero, and he had gone through so much because of it. He looked up at the All Might posters on the wall and all the merchandise he had collected over the years. The very person who had kept him from giving up on his dream had told him that it was impossible. Deku had always known that he could never become a hero, but was just too stubborn to admit it. In the end, he was thankful to All Might for helping him look at things realistically.

Just as Deku came to terms with never being a hero, he remembered the book Bakugo had destroyed. That book had contained data on many different kinds of heroes who had even more diverse kinds of quirks. Some had Quirks that were physical like All Might, while others had Quirks that didn't physically do much such as Eraser Head. Just as he remembered that detail, it hit him. Many heroes have Quirks that don't boost their strength or speed, but made up for their lack of a physical Quirk with superhuman strength training. This was the first time Midoriya had ever thought of anything that could reasonably allow for him to become a hero, and it was so ridiculously simple that he felt he had failed himself. He had wasted so much of his life hoping that some miracle would happen, but all this time the answer was right in front of him.

From there, Midoriya jumped out of bed and hopped on his computer. He looked into the strength training methods heroes had used in the past to obtain superhuman strength. Hours had passed, and he was still sitting in front of his computer trying to decide what hero's method he should follow. Eventually, he decided to take a few different hero's strength training methods and fuse them together based on what would be the most possible but also the most difficult. As he looked over his routine one last time, he smiled and turned to one of his All Might posters.

"Thank you." He muttered in a tired doggedness. Deku was now more determined than ever, and was eager to prove everyone that had doubted him wrong. Especially all the pro heroes that had almost crushed his dream.

In a moment of resolution, he had passed out in his chair. He was up until 4 finishing his fitness plan.

Author's Note: I don't really like fanfiction, but this concept has always intrigued me and I felt I should write about it. So, this is the first one i've ever written. While this first chapter is pretty small, it's more of an experiment before I make the rest. Please feel free to give as much criticism as you can since i've never actually written a story before and would very much like to improve.
