People would never have guessed that Gabrielle and Colin would hit it off so well, and when they turned sixteen and their soulmate's name was revealed on their wrist, Colin was thrilled. He had never thought he would have the honour of being the one that ended up with Gabrielle, and it seemed like she was just as happy to discover that he was her soulmate. Their friendship had caught on fire after that, and the passion just added another dimension to their already playful relationship. He always thought it was just a fantasy, but Gabrielle Delcour became his girlfriend, and soon enough the two of them had their own little cottage to call home. After a few months of courtship, they had gotten married, and life had settled into a blissful routine.
"Mrs Creevey," Collin said with a grin.
"Yes, Mr Creevey?" Gabrielle said, her eyes glinting with mischief.
"I think it must be movie night tonight," he suggested with a smile. She smiled back at him. It had become a tradition with them, but it was always a question of what to watch.
"I don't mind what we watch," Gabby said and paused, watching her husband frown at her curiously. "That is, as long as it's How To Train Your Dragon."
"Gabby, no, not again," Colin groaned. It was always an animated movie with her, and the most recent craze had been the How To Train Your Dragon series. It wasn't just the first one either, but all of them.
"Please," she asked, her eyes twinkling.
"Gabby, baby," Colin tried to reason, but then he stopped when he noticed she was holding the television remote above her head. His good humour vanished, it had always been a sore spot for him that he had ended up being a good deal shorter than his wife. She spotted the change in him immediately, their soulmate bond had picked up on his mood. She dropped the remote to the floor with a clatter.
"Colin, I didn't mean to, you know I—" she paused. Colin knew his wife realised that her being taller was a problem, but most of the time he could ignore it. He tried to tell himself it was stupid. It wasn't something she could do anything about, even without heels, she still was a head taller than him.
"It's not your fault, Gabby," he said wistfully.
"I should be a little bit more considerate though." She frowned.
"Come on, where is that beautiful smile?" Colin asked, trying to forget about the insecurity that just overcame him, trying to cheer his wife. "I'm sorry, I should just forget about it, and hope our children end up with your genes," he tried to joke.
"This isn't a joke," Gabby said slowly, still frowning at him.
"Okay then," he said slowly, and he started to advance on her.
"No, you wouldn't," she said, her eyes suddenly wide in mock terror, and she ran to duck behind the lounge suite. Colin still managed to sneak up on her, and when he caught her, she let out a shrill shriek.
"Colin, no," she insisted, but he ignored her, and started to tickle her without mercy.
"Mon Amour," she attempted between chuckles, only half attempting to escape his tickling. As much as she tried to argue that she hated being tickled, both of them could sense the endorphins being released through their soulmate bond that managed to cheer them both up.
The thing she probably loved most about their bond- no miscommunication problems there. She was laughing hysterically, with tears running down her cheeks by the time he released her from his merciless fingers.
"Now it's enough," he said with a grin. "So, How To Train Your Dragon?" He said, pretending to sigh at being subjected to it again and Gabby just giggled and nodded.
"Alright then love," he smiled, and picked her up in his arms, spinning her around and kissing her affectionately before dropping her on the couch. She grinned, using her wand to summon their favourite saffron coloured blanket from the bed, and lay down on her side near the front, so he could squeeze in behind her. He grabbed a bottle of butterbeer, taking a swig before placing it within reach of the coffee table, and snuggling up behind her, and Gabby scooted herself back, and confidently placed one of his arms over her. Then she waited patiently for him to press the play button, and soon the two were absorbed in the movie Colin pretended to hate.
"The things I do for love," he muttered teasingly, and Gabby laughed softly. Colin looked at his wife, her features were like porcelain, and he often thought of how much her features looked like a doll. she was so beautiful it was almost like she wasn't fully human. He knew she had a Veela grandmother, she hadn't taken after her. She was simply beautiful, more beautiful than anyone he had ever seen before.
