Peter hugged his kids for the last time in who knows how long. He has to go on a mission with the avengers, not excatly how he would like to spend his fiancés birthday but it had to be done. It had to be done to ensure his family's safety as well as everyone else's. If he was being honest with himself, Peter would say that he's scared, scared to see Mr. Stark again after so many years.
After the billionaire took his suit away, Peter moved to Miami with his aunt and met Amelia. The first time he saw her was in school where they had to do a project together for science. He had of course embarrassed himself by staring at her, but he couldn't help it. In his mind, Amelia was the prettiest girl he had ever seen and she still is. She had curly blonde hair that reached her waist and chocolate brown eyes that Peter couldn't help but stare into. He only stopped when the girl told him he was being creepy. Peter thought that he had no chance with her but was proved wrong when she asked him out. Now 10 years later, they have 3 children together and another 1 on the way.
"When will you be back daddy?" A little voice spoke, knocking Peter out of his thoughts. The man in question looked down and smiled sadly at his eldest child, May. The 25 year old squatted down in front of his daughter and brought her into another hug. When he pulled away, he brushed the curls that reminded him of his soon-to-be wife out of her face and behind her ear.
"I'll be back before mummy has little brother or sister." Peter told all of the curious kids around him and watched as their mouths curled into smiles, happy that their dad would be coming back home soon. Well in the next four months as Amelia was already 5 months pregnant with their last child. The woman had said to Peter that after this one, she wasn't having any more. She didn't like feeling like she was a beach ball and definitely didn't like labor but she reminded her self that after labor she would have their baby in her arms and everything would be okay.
"Promise?" The twins, Luke and Leia, asked their father with their pinkies out, ready for a pinky promise. To the 4 year olds, if you made a pinky promise you would always do what you said you would do. Pinky promises to them were the most important thing in the world.
"Promise." Peter comfirmed, wrapping his pinky around Luke's and then Leia's. The two kids then ran off to play with their older sister. Peter stood up and kissed his fiancé goodbye.
"I love you." Peter spoke with a tears in his eyes, this was going to be the longest time Peter had ever been away from his family. He was also painfully aware that Mia was worried for his safety, it made the man feel guilty. His wife shouldn't have to worry about him but he couldn't back out of this mission, it could safe everyone he loves. So he has to leave for a few months, for his family.
"Love you too." The woman spoke with tears in her eyes before walking away, she knew that she couldn't stand there and say goodbye to Peter without bursting out in tears. Mia didn't want her kids to see that she was upset because they would get scared for their father if she was and then they wouldn't stop asking if he's okay until he got home. Mia couldn't handle 5 months of that.
Time skip
Peter walked into S.H.I.E.L.D with his head held high, he wouldn't let anyone see how panicked he was about seeing the avengers again after all this time. He would walk in, do this mission and go home to be with his family. In the end, he would forget all about this mission and things would go back to normal. As normal as they can be being spider-man anyway.
Peter took a deep breath in before pulling open the door and walking into the meeting. He sat down and looked around at who was there and it shouldn't have surprised Peter as much as it did when he saw that nearly everyone was there. Nick Fury, Maria Hill, Rhodey, Sam, Clint, Bucky, Scott, Bruce, Natasha, Thor, Wanda, Steve and Tony. 12 out of the 13 people were looking at him in obvious shock, Fury being the only one not shocked as he had pulled him into S.H.I.E.L.D before for help. Peter couldn't say he blamed them though, he'd changed a lot through the 10 years they hadn't seen eachother. He had really grown up, he had gotten a bit more muscle on his once skinny body and was quite a bit taller.
"Peter?"
