Hi there! I haven't actually sat down to write anything for a bit. Now I'm gonna take a break from my other story to start this one cuz I can't really find energy for anything else~ Hope you enjoy!
My mommy used to tell me...
That a long long looooong time ago, people lived side by side with magical beings from another world!
She said that since the beginning of time, humans and the magic people fought monsters from the magic place together to protect Earth!
She said the magic people came from the Seireitei, a mystical kingdom of spirits that looked after humans until they became one of them!
And the monsters...they didn't like humans or the soul people. So they ate them...
Then, one day, the magic people and the monsters disappeared from Earth, and haven't been seen since. I think that's sad, and I always cry when she gets to that part.
But, she always says sometimes, if you're brave enough and strong enough and if you hope enough, you can meet the spirit people as they fight the monsters on Earth, hidden from human sight!
I wanted to be so brave and strong that I got to meet one too! Real life superheroes that only I could see!
She never said in her stories that sometimes, it isn't the magic soul people you meet first...
That sometimes, if you're not lucky enough, you run into a monster on your way to school...
That sometimes, the superheroes don't show up to save you before the monster finds you...
I hoped I would be brave and strong enough for mommy!
That at the very last second, a superhero would come and save me and beat the monster!
And I'd tell mommy everything that happened and make her so proud of me!
I didn't know that sometimes that isn't what happens at all...
I wasn't brave. When I first saw it, like a gigantic orange snake with a bony white face and looming over the alleyway shortcut I always took, I peed myself and made scared noises.
I wasn't strong. It's burning red eyes saw me, and I couldn't break free of its tentacle when it shot out to wrap around my waist and snatch me up.
I didn't hope anymore. I screamed and screamed the whole time as it opened its mouth and swallowed me whole, and no one came.
My mommy never said that superheroes never existed.
I would never be able to tell her now. That it isn't heroes that humans lived with on Earth, that it wasn't heroes that protected us.
Only the monsters...

"RHOOOOOOOOOOAAAAA"
Karakura Town continued to rest in silence as a bestial roar rocked the world, ignorant of any tragedy in the hidden alleyway.
In an unknown place, many eyes flicked across the skyscraper horizon as a noticeable life force was snuffed out for the briefest of moments, before exploding into a blazing inferno of spiritual energy.
In the next instant, it vanished without a trace.
Moonlit figures would arrive to find the alley empty, except for a single, small body.
————-
Hueco Mundo desert
Lavender eyes flicked open to the endless expanse of night. Underneath, the soft cushion of oceanic sand.
A large body lumbered upright to stare out over a desert canvas.
It didn't understand this place. The black above it. Itself.
It only knew the hunger in its belly.
Instinct drove a single limb toward, lithe and covered in midnight fur, culminating in bone covered paws tipped with razor points.
Then another paw, and then two back legs came to its attention.
Craning it's heard, it identified a striped tail adorned with bony ridges, eyes raking its back to find similar joints encasing it like armor. The same rich purple fur beneath, rippling in the dry wind.
Claws, tail...teeth?
A quick flex of its mouth revealed a maw of deadly fangs.
'Good. Hungry. Prey.' Scenting the air, It's eyes dilated. 'Nearby.'
With a few clumsy steps, the feline creature swiftly acclimated, leaving a trail of dust as it began to track down its prey.
'Must hunt. Must kill. Must DEVOUR'
The silent sands of Hueco Mundo echoed the same powerful roar from another place, far away in a different world, and all its occupants shivered at the arrival of a new hunter.
A new monster.
A new Hollow.
Hope you enjoyed! I'm gonna be working on this until I run out of inspiration! Or I may actually be consistent for once. Either way, leave a review if you want more!
