A/N: Hey. So I've written True Blood fanfiction before. But, I took it down. The reason being is that I'm possibly making those real publishable fiction stories. This one I'm posting now is for fun. I've already completed it so no need to think I'm going to take this down. I hope you all enjoy it. Things you should know:

Niall is a loving, good grandfather who loves Sookie.

Warlow is a good guy.

Bill is bad. (LOL)

This is my world. Don't like it, don't read it.

Full Synopsis: Three years ago Sookie left her small town of Bon Temps. She found some shocking news, and instead of sticking around to be the butt of everyone's joke she left. Plus with her brother dying she really didn't have anything left for her. All of her bad memories were of that place. Now as a nurse at the first human and vampire hospital she was glad to be able to help people and doing something she loved. She never thought she would have made it to New York, but she was glad she did. Then Eric comes along.

All mistakes are my own.

Let me know what you think! Should this continue or not?

"Is it true?" Sookie asked tears in her eyes. She glanced between Eric and Pam who looked ashamed for the first time in her existence. Or at least since she met her. Eric stood and walked over to Sookie. Thankfully they were in a private room and it was only the three of them present. The only person she wished wasn't present was Bill. His smirking face was enough to make her want to commit murder.

"Eric. I asked you a question. Is what Bill said true?" She couldn't believe the last four hours of her life. She thought today would be the best day of her life. She had finally made love with Eric. After her short dating experience with Bill, she was glad that she never slept with the man. Now however after finding out this new information, she wondered if she even made the right choice with either man, to begin with.

"Sookie. It's not what you think."

Placing her hands on her dress. The form-fitting red dress she bought on a whim because she felt beautiful. Because Eric made her feel that way. Now she only felt like a laughing-stock. She even brought red lipstick and heels to match to attend this vampire elite event as his plus one.

"It's not? So when Bill came to me and told me that you were only with me because of a bet, that was wrong? Since he was unable to have sex with me, you let him know that you could get me in your bed? That was wrong?"

Looking dashing in his all-black suit with the red tie she chose, and long hair slick back from his face he quickly invaded her personal space.

"It may have started off that way, but once I got to know you things changed."

"Yeah, they did Eric!" She screamed before placing her hand over her chest. She glanced around the room suddenly feeling claustrophobic. She could feel the sparks coming from her hands. Everyone in the room looked on it both fear and fascination.

"Sookie. You know me. I wouldn't-"

"Eric. You told me that she was the best thing you ever tasted," Bill said a smirk in his voice. Sookie's eyes shot up to his face, and she could see the guilt in his eyes. The guilt that showed he did say those words.

"Silence Bill!"

"Eric," she said quietly voice breaking. Tears ran down her cheeks, and Eric looked as if he was in pain as well. Her eyes said it all. She told the man things about her she never told another person. Not even Bill. She thought she was safe.

"Sookie. Please," he started but was interrupted by Tara bursting into the room.

"Sookie, why haven't you been picking up your phone? It's Jason. He's been shot. A robbery went wrong. He was leaving the grocery store."

Shaking her head as if to clear it, she glanced at Tara helplessly. Her best friend quickly took note of the tension in the room and stepped forward grabbing her hand.

"Come on Sookie. We have to head to the hospital. Lafayette is waiting in the car." Tara said softly. Nodding, Sookie slipped off her heels and left them on the floor before hitching up her dress and following Tara out of the room. Once the door slammed shut Pam glanced at Eric before grabbing the car keys.

"I'll follow."

"I'm coming with you, Pam."

Turning to Bill he glared at him.

"You and I will have our day soon, William."

"I'm the king. As such you will-"

"You being the king of Louisiana will not save you from my wrath!"

..

Sookie ignored Eric and Pam in the waiting room. Tara and Lafayette were sitting opposite of her each holding her hand. When sitting became too much she would stand and pace. Her shimmering red dress and long hair that fell in waves down her back only sent admiring glances her way even though she looked tired. Eric couldn't keep his eyes off of her. He could hear her heart racing, but more importantly, he knew that Sookie was, in fact, a fae princess by the way her eyes would often flit between her original blue and bright gold. She confessed to him the night before that she loved him, and the truth about her lineage. Plus the two guards stationed outside of their waiting room. They were dressed as "officials," so to the outside eye, it would look as if some dignitary was in danger. But the supernatural world knew what the crests meant on the men's jackets.

Fae.

Bill was investigating her, but he could never get her to admit it. She also told Eric that she was a virgin, and when a fae chose a person to love, they could walk in the day as well. By proxy, Pam would be privy to that as well. Eric knew she probably felt betrayed and used but it wasn't like that to him. He just needed to clear this entire situation up before it became messier. The fact that it was daytime and Pam nor Eric felt the pull of sleep, or that they weren't burning only made Lafayette, and Tara's eyes widen in amazement. But they were the only two people who knew about Sookie's true lineage, so they easily put two and two together.

"Sookie! You're needed back in the ER."

"Alright. I'm on my way!" Grabbing her clipboard she jogged to the elevator pressing the button that would take her down to the first floor. She never thought she would get the chance to work in a hospital, especially one such as fancy as the one she was currently employed here in New York, but she wouldn't trade it for anything. Yeah her life wasn't what she thought it would be, but she was content. She was closer to her fairy family and Warlow was wearing her down enough to consider going on a date. She knew her grandfather heard, and his more than pleased attitude could be heard through the phone. He was after all one of his trusted warriors, and the fact that they would hang out sometimes thrilled him to no end. The fact that he was a doctor at this hospital as well was the icing on the cake for Niall.

She even liked the home she had. With Jason dead, she sold both houses and brought a lovely townhome in manhattan. It cost a pretty penny, but with the sale of two houses and her grandfather's influence, she was more than capable to purchase it.

So yeah, she was pretty content. Since that night a lot had changed with her. On the outside, she may have gotten a bit hippier. Her breasts fuller, and her hair longer. Her cousin explained that when a fairy reached the age of twenty-four she became a full woman. Since she just turned twenty-five, Sookie had to say she was an all-out woman. She thought having a real shape would make her feel self-conscious. But she no longer cared. She liked how her clothes fit, and most of the other nurses would tell her jokingly that they wanted her shape. She laughed it off because nothing mattered anymore. Especially what other people thought. On the inside what changed was her trust for other people. She only trusted Tara, Lafayette, and her immediate family. Everyone else could be an enemy. Working with other supernatural beings at the hospital let her know really fast what to expect.

She switched out her clipboard not paying attention to the name on the front. You still think about what I said yesterday?" a deep voice asked from behind. Turning, Sookie smiled before rolling her eyes.

"Warlow, I've already said I'd think about it." Knocking her shoulder with his own he smiled down at her. His smile always made her blush. It was flattering, and although she didn't feel that rush she felt whenever she was with him, she was glad to feel something again. Even if she knew she couldn't fully commit to anything.

"You have to think faster. I have tickets this weekend for the opera. It's Carmen."

That was another thing she did. As soon as she left she enrolled in a university she immersed herself in things about different cultures. Broadway, operas, and books. She felt absolutely thrilled to learn more. The only thing she hadn't done was travel abroad. She hoped to do that within the next several years.

"Warlow. No amount of peer pressure is going to speed up my decision-making." He laughed before kissing her cheek.

"It's okay. I'll ask again tomorrow. You should be worn down by then." Laughing she walked over to the door. He was being called to the room across from her own.

"Let the patient know I'll be in shortly."

"Yes, doctor."

Opening the door, she closed it behind her. Walking over to the sink she grabbed a pair of gloves and slapped them on.

"Hi, I'm Nurse Stackhouse. I'll be-" Sookie stopped eyes wide, and heart-racing at who was in front of her.

Eric Northman. And Pam. She swallowed before taking a step back.

"Ahem. What are you two doing here?" Pam's eyes roved appreciatively over Sookie before she spoke.

"We were in the area. Actually Eric got ahold of some bad blood. Since he's the new king of the entire eastern seaboard it's imperative that he is treated quickly." Sookie filed that information away for later before nodding.

"Hmm. Alright. Well, I'm going to have to take your blood and get it tested."

"Why?" Pam asked, Suspicious. Ignoring Eric's gaze Sookie spoke confidently.

"Since this hospital now treats supernatural as well as humans, we now have the technology to determine what exactly gets in your blood, and how to fix it. But, we need your blood, or his blood to do that." Glancing at Eric, Pam spoke quickly while Sookie looked away. She wanted this to be done quickly so she could leave the room. It serves her right for not reading her clipboard. After a moment, Eric spoke.

"Leave us." Pam opened her mouth, but then closed it before walking up to Sookie. She stopped by the door before speaking quietly.

"I know you never wanted to see us again, but you look great Sookie. And I want to thank you for giving us the gift of sunlight." Pam left before Sookie could say anything. Sighing, Sookie grabbed a stool before rolling it to where Eric was sitting. She wouldn't make eye contact. Grabbing the needle and items for blood withdrawal she spoke.

"Hold your arm out." Easily, Eric did as requested. Sookie never once made direct contact with him, but Eric drank in everything about her. Her scent, her hair, the womanly curves she had. Once she finished she sat back and placed his blood in a bag before snapping off her gloves.

"Someone will be back with the results, and let you know what exactly is in your system and how to flush it out." Standing, Sookie stuck her hands under the sink and began washing them. Eric allowed her to finish before speaking.

"Sookie." Sookie tried to fight it. She tried to not look at the man. But the way he said her name made her glance up. And she had to hold back a gasp. Those ice-blue eyes were focused on her. And they were focused on her in the same way they'd been that night. She saw that he looked to have a bit of color. His hair was cut shorter, but it didn't take away from his handsome features. His body was still hard like granite. She could clearly see the outline of his thighs in his form-fitting pants and muscles in his long-sleeved shirt.

"Sookie. I'll never be able to say it enough. But I am sorry. You left so quickly after the funeral, and I tried to get in touch with you, but your grandfather let it be known that you were not to be contacted."

Sookie wasn't surprised. She asked her grandfather to give her time while she finished school. But she said nothing to Eric. She had grown and got to know herself better. And because she was a mature woman, she was going to start acting like it. Closing her eyes she took a deep breath. She counted to five before opening her eyes again. Eric could see the guard in her eyes, but that was it. He was mad because he used to be able to read her so well. That was his fault.

"It's okay Eric. I forgive you. Look, I was young, and I believed everything the man I used to love."

"But you should. You should trust the person you love." Smiling sadly she inhaled before continuing.

"There is no reason to beat yourself up. I was young. I was impressionable. But it's fine. I'm where I'm supposed to be in life. I'm sure you are as well. Now when we see each other outside of this hospital, I no longer have to run and hide."

Standing, Eric walked closer, but Sookie took a step back.

"Sookie. I want you back. I've been searching for you for the last three years. Even when Niall said to stop. It wasn't until last year that his hold eased up a bit."

Looking away Sookie tucked a stray hair behind her ear.

"Eric. Let's not do this. I forgive you, but I'm not doing this thing between us. I'm not into playing games or made out to be someone's trophy because I am fae."

"Sookie, I love you."

"You don't play with people you love!" She shouted, unable to keep the venom from her voice. Breathing quickly, she shook her head before pasting on a smile.

"No. It doesn't matter. Not anymore." Turning quickly, she opened the door only for it to be closed by Eric. His arm was over her head and leaning against the door. Turning she glanced up at the tall man.

"Eric. Open the door."

"Not until we talk."

"We just did." He leaned closer until she could feel his breath on her face.

"Sookie. We only scratched the surface. I want you back. I've desired no one but you. I'm sorry for the pain I put you through. But I love you too much to let you go. I'm selfish." Sookie held back a sob as she shook her head.

"No. I can't do this. Not again. I can't-" Sookie stopped herself.

"You can't what? Sookie, I don't want to hurt you. I-" Thinking fast Sookie pushed him back which caught him off-guard and gave her time to open the door. She quickly stepped out. She didn't want to hear any more of what the man had to say.

Maybe three years wasn't enough time to get over someone, she thought sadly.

Well. What's the verdict? Let me know.
