This is set on an alternative timeline right after the Spider-Man PS4 ending. Any content from the DLCs is not part of this universe. Thought I could bring some lightness to Peter's life.

I love Spider-Man.

That's it.

Each chapter is named after a song that may or may not be related to the plot. Today? Golden Slumber, by The Beatles.

Enjoy!

Like a punch, she first felt the impact. The burning sensation filled with pins and needles radiating from the hole came only later. She had never been shot before but she was no stranger to the technical definitions and descriptions of the wound. Yet she was rendered almost useless. Her eyes watered, her breath was cut short. She threw up in her own mouth. Her surroundings were only a blur of disconnected images and sounds. She felt her body floating while she was carried across the town in a speed she only found comfortable because she could not feel. He tightened his grip on her while making a turn in a old building he used to climb to have any kind of snack while traversing the city. The hospital was close and he knew.

She would be okay, wouldn't she? She wouldn't die. She couldn't die.

"Don't you die on me, Captain."

The nurse put his hand on the white spider growing from his chest, meaning that he could not pass that point. He did his part. There was nothing he could do besides to trust in the good doctors he trusted so many times in the few years he was doing that job. And God knows he was tired of the career.

He did his best to ignore the surprised and curious looks of other patients while he waited in line to get a cup of cold hospital coffee. Not long after the first sip sent shivers down his whole body, two police officers stormed the hospital asking enough questions to make his head spin. He vaguely answered all of them before leaving the building and using his web to make an improvised bed at the side of one of the hospital walls. The city was calm, a feeling his guts did not share with the city of New York.

Exhausted, he fell in a guilty slumber.
