Chapter 1
"Asriel… Asriel… wakey-wakey."
Asriel woke up with a snort as he found himself back in his old house. He looked around to try to find out where he was.
"...Where am I?" he asked as he looked back at his hands. "...Why am I a goat monster again?"
"It was me, Asriel!" Chara, Asriel's long dead brother, shouted as he suddenly leapt into the room. "It was me, Asriel! It was me all along, Asriel!"
"Oh, hey. Chara." Asriel said. "What's up?"
"Oh, nothing much. I'm just about to start up my overly elaborate and nonsensical plan to kill all of humanity. You wanna join? Finish what we started?"
"Uhhhh... no thanks, Chara. I kind of don't want to kill all of humanity anymore. I'm not a prick anymore."
To this, Chara's face suddenly turned demonic, his eyes widening much more than should have been possible, and gaining a wicked, terrifying smile on top of that as he spoke in a loud, demonic voice. "NOBODY CARES WHAT YOU THINK, ASRIEL! YOU ARE GOING TO COME WITH ME, AND YOU ARE GOING TO LIKE IT!"
"...Oh. Ok." Asriel said, shockingly submissive to his fate. Chara's face returned to normal, and the two of them left the house together.
Chapter 2
Frisk was laying on her bed, facing upwards as she slept, snoring a little bit as she did.
Chara sneaked into her room, covering himself in darkness as he made his way towards Frisk. It was counterproductive if stealth was the name of the game, because it would only make him stick out more in the daylight anyway, but it was a cool effect, so he did it anyway.
He walked up to Frisk and saw that she was sleeping. He looked straight forward and gave a little wink to seemingly no one as he took out a trumpet. He took a deep breath in and began to play the Flintstones theme as loud as he could on it.
Frisk gave a shout as she woke up, Chara stopping shortly after and looking at her with a smile. "...Who are you?! How did you get in my room?!" Frisk shouted, trying to calm down from the sudden waking up.
"I'm Chara." Chara responded with casually. "I'm the guy you sold your soul to. Remember?"
"...No...?" Frisk said with a scratch of your head.
"...Well, anyway, I'm here to collect on our deal. So... can I have your soul now?"
"...No way. Why would I give you that?"
"Because you owe it to me."
"No, I don't."
"Yes, you do."
"No."
"Yes."
"No."
"Yes."
"Why?"
"Why what?"
"Why did I sell you my soul, and why don't I remember it?"
"I don't want to tell you, yet. It'll add drama once I drop the bomb near the end."
"Well, if you don't give me a reason, then I won't give it to you."
"Fine. If you're not going to cooperate, I'm just gonna have to beat you over the head with this trumpet until you finally give it to me."
Before Chara could start ruining the perfectly good instrument, Asgore suddenly burst in through the door, holding a cup of very hot tea. "Frisk! I heard Grand Dad music! What's going on?!" he exclaimed before he saw Chara.
"...Oh... hey, Dad." Chara said. "I'm gonna take Frisk's soul now."
"I can't let you do that, son." Asgore said as he took out his trident.
"Ok, but consider the following." Chara began to say. Rather than continue speaking, however, he drew a picture of a fish in his notebook and threw it at Asgore, hitting him in the groin. Asgore groaned in pain from the force of the notebook hitting him and fell on his knees.
"Ha! Even the mightiest of the Monsters can't stand up to the awesome might of Neptune's Hound!" Chara said proudly.
Frisk looked at the notebook while still staying on the bed. "...That's just a picture of a fish."
"What? Nonsense. That's clearly a super-powerful monster of the seas."
"...No, it's just a lousy drawing of a fish."
"...Well, anyway, I could kill both of you here and now and take your soul to finally start with my plans..." Chara started. "...But if I were to leave now, do you think you could come try to stop me, and get a compelling story going?"
Frisk gave a shrug. "I mean, I'm not sure of the compelling part, but I can come after you if you want."
"Perfect!" Chara said as he picked his notebook up. "See you then." He ran towards the window and threw himself through it, shattering the window in the process.
Chapter 3
Chara walked into the room that he had Asriel in, walking in with a tray of food in his hands. "Hey there, bro. How you feeling?"
"Like I'm going to have to watch my own brother and best friend commit genocide." Asriel grumbled.
"Heheh. Nice one, bro. 'Genocide'. I see what you did there."
"...What?" Asriel scratched his head, not really sure about what Chara was talking about.
"Look. The humans are all pieces of shit. I'll do my thing, then we'll get to live peacefully together here on the surface like we always planned. Remember? Kill everyone now, all hugs and kisses and sunshine later."
"But I don't want all of the humans dead..." Asriel said as he looked down. "...We don't have to kill everyone... do we... can we not just live peacefully together? No more death... no more revenge... just being a family together?"
"I dunno. I don't think so." Chara said before holding up the tray towards Asriel. "Here. Check it out. I brought you breakfast in bed."
"Is that supposed to make me feel better about the fact that I'm with a psychotic killer right now?"
"Well... is it working?"
"No, not really."
"...Alright, Asriel. You've forced my hand." He put the tray down, taking a very large book and smacking Asriel on the back of his head.
"Ow!" Asriel shouted as he held where Chara had just hit him. "What was that for?!"
"I was trying to knock you out." Chara explained. "...Are you unconscious yet?"
"Do I look or sound unconscious to you?"
"Good point." Chara brought the book up into the air and smacked Asriel again. "And now?"
"...No."
With a displeased grunt, Chara hit him one more time. "How about now?"
"...If I say yes, will you stop hitting me?"
"...Yeah, sure. Why not?"
"In that case, yes." After saying this, Asriel laid down in the bed, acting like he was knocked out. With a satisfied nod, Chara put the book down and left to get to work.
Chapter 4
Frisk walked to the door of Papyrus and Sans' house and knocked on the door. It took a few seconds for Papyrus to get there, but he opened the door. "Oh! Greetings, Frisk!" Papyrus said. "What can we do for..." He noticed that Frisk looked all sweaty and kind of dirty, with a serious look on her face. "...Everything ok, friend?"
"Hey, bro. Who's at the door?" Sans asked as he walked over, seeing Frisk. "Woah... holy crap. You look like you just got done running a mile, kid. What happened?"
"Some freaky boy broke into my room and wanted me to give him his soul." Frisk explained.
Papyrus and Sans looked at each other before looking back to the human girl. "...Uhhh... ok?" Papyrus responded.
"...And now I need us to call all of our friends together, because I want for all of us to be there, even though this is my problem."
Papyrus and Sans looked at each other again before looking back to the human girl. "...Sure. Whatever you say." Sans answered with a shrug.
"...But before we do that, do you think I can eat lunch with you guys today? I just got done walking my way all the way here, and I'm really tired."
"Oh, yeah. Sure. Come on in." Papyrus said as he opened the door wider, he and Sans stepping out of the way to let Frisk in. "I'll make us spaghetti."
Chapter 5
Frisk, Papyrus and Sans were all sitting at the table, eating spaghetti, and conversing from time to time about trivial things.
Suddenly, the door was kicked in, with Chara standing at it, being the culprit. "Ha! Boom, baby!" Chara said as he held his arms out in a very showoffy pose.
"Ah. Hello, Frisk number two." Papyrus greeted. "Would you like some spaghetti too?"
"What? Frisk number t- no. No no no. I'm Chara. I'm here to take Frisk's soul, as was part of our arrangement."
Frisk gave a nod. "Yeah. That guy that I told you about who was trying to take my soul... that's him." she explained.
"Yep. I'm here to take her soul. As was our agreement that we had."
"Yeah. What agreement are you even talking about? I'm pretty sure this is the first time we've ever met. What deal could I have made with you that I don't remember?"
"I told you, I don't want to tell you, yet. It'll be more suspenseful for everyone if I reveal it further down... I mean, everyone else kind of already knows it, but... still. Suspense and drama regardless."
"Yeah, well I'm not going to let you do that." Sans said as he got up from his chair, standing in front of Chara and taking out a big laser in the shape of a dragon's skull, holding it at the ready in his arms. "If you want to get to Frisk, you're going to have to get through me first."
"It'll be my pleasure." Chara said as he drew a knife. "Hail Hydra!" He charged at Sans, swinging his knife around like crazy, but Sans was able to swiftly dodge all of his attacks, despite carrying the big laser. After dodging a number of attacks, he finally fired his laser, the skull-shaped weapon giving a very loud shout as a blue and white laser came out and consumed Chara.
When it faded, Chara laid on the ground, both of his legs, one of his arms, and half of his face missing and bleeding out a black, ink-like blood. "Owww... oh, the pain... it hurts so much." Chara groaned.
"Didn't you ever hear, kid?" Sans asked as he put his laser down and hit the sides of his pelvis with his hands. "Naughty children who bring knives to gun fights get dunked on."
"Oh, yeah...? Well... you know what assholes like you get?" Chara asked weakly as he took out his notebook with his remaining arm and threw it at a conveniently placed nearby fan.
He managed to hit the fan at just the right place, and it turned on, beginning to spin at its highest setting. "Oh no!" Sans exclaimed before the wind coming from the fan blew him off the ground and into the wall.
"Hahahahahaha!" Chara laughed as he stood up, suddenly fully healed from his injuries. "I knew it. Your Defense was so low, that a slight breeze would have been enough to knock you over!"
"...I think we're taking that setting a bit too literally here." Frisk commented.
"It doesn't matter. Now I have you right where I want you." Chara said. "Now that you're completely at my mercy... can you please tell me where the other Human Souls are?"
"...What?" Sans asked. "...Why would you want to know where the other souls are...? I thought you just wanted Frisk's."
"Don't you question my methods or my plans!" Chara shouted defensively. "You know what? Just for that, I'm going to kill you and your brother right now!"
Both Chara and Sans stared at each other silently, Chara just standing there and Sans remaining in the wall. "...Well?" Sans questioned.
"Eh... I kind of wanted to, but now I don't really feel like it anymore." Chara answered with a shrug.
"...So then what was even the point of this chapter?"
"To... play me up as this powerful, untouchable force that can't be stopped so easily?"
"Ok... but I literally kicked the shit out of you, and the fact that you apparently need the other souls points to you not being all that strong on your own."
"Oh yeah?"
"Yeah."
"Well... you know... one thing I should..." Chara eventually threw his hands up in the air. "Shut up!" He stormed out of the house, slamming the door shut behind him.
"...Can someone please shut that damn fan off?" Sans asked. "I can't feel my back up here."
Chapter 6
Chara walked into the building that he and Asriel were staying in and walked in. "Hey, Asriel. I'm back." he called out.
"Hey, Chara." Asriel greeted with a big smile. "Hey. Look what I got for you." He reached into his pocket and pulled out a golden, heart shaped locket.
Chara gasped in shock, putting his hands over his mouth. "Oh... oh my God..." he said in disbelief, tears starting to run down his rose colored cheeks. "A-Asriel... I thought you would never ask... yes! The answer is yes!"
"Wait. 'The answer is yes'? What the heck is that supposed to-"
Before Asriel could finish his question, Chara hugged Asriel close, their faces mere inches from each other as Chara gently caressed Asriel's cheek. "Asriel, I'm ready to take this next step in our lives. I'm ready to dedicate the rest of my life for you."
"Uhhhhh..." Asriel gave a nervous gulp. "...Chara, I think you're misinterpreting the meaning of that locket..."
Before the situation could become anymore awkward for poor Asriel, the door opened, and a humanoid being completely covered in purple clothing came in. "Hey there, Chara. Look what I got for you." he said as he held his hand out, a little yellow heart floating over it.
"Oh... uhhh... sorry, Darkeol. But I'm afraid Asriel has already beat you to it... you had your chance, but I'm afraid-"
"What? No. This is one of the Human Souls. The one you need to make sure you don't get your ass kicked again?" Darkeol clarified. "Oh, by the way, the girl you're trying to get to give you her soul is gathering her friends up to start looking for you to put a stop to your plans."
"...Oh. Ok." Chara said with a nod. "Let them come then."
"...What?" Darkeol asked. "...But... if they find you before you get the Souls... you could potentially be in deep shit... you don't want to stop them or anything?"
"Nah. I'm sure your unspecified students will be able to find the other Souls before they get here regardless. Besides, I want Frisk to come to me anyway."
"But... you know, you made me to be this all powerful being that... could potentially undo creation... I could just... wave my staff if I wanted to, and I could-"
"Darkeol. Could you please? Asriel and I are having our honeymoon here, and you're really distracting us."
Darkeol just stood there at the doorway for a few seconds before leaving and grumbling, "Why do I feel like I'm going to serve little to no purpose in this narrative..."
Chapter 7
Frisk had been looking for Chara with her friends throughout the day. They eventually made their way to Mt. Ebott, but still couldn't find him.
Frisk had eventually gotten so bored that she ended up falling asleep. The next thing she knew, she was in a dream where she was standing at the peak of the mountain, looking down the hole that led straight into the Underground.
"Oh, yeah... I remember this." Frisk said. "Yeah, I've seen this a long time before... I came up on this mountain to get away and end my life because my parents were-"
"Woah, woah woah woah woah!" Chara suddenly interjected as he walked up to her. "What are you doing?! You can't just go off and list what this dream means to you like that!"
"Why not? This is my dream."
"Why no- do you have any idea how hard I'm working to build the suspense and the mystery of what happened, and why both you and I went up the mountain that day? Like... have you no respect for all that I'm trying to do here?"
"You mean like the fact you're not killing me or trying to take my soul right now."
"Nah, I can't really do that in just a dream. That's just a superstition." Chara sat down with a sigh. "Look. You may not believe me when I say this, but there's a lot more connecting us than you may think."
"Oh yeah?" Frisk asked as she reluctantly sat next to him. "...Example?"
"Example...? Uhhhh... you know, I could give you one, but..."
"Yeah, yeah. I know. It'll ruin the suspense and the drama."
"Exactly... here. How about you just come over to me peacefully? Just you. No fighting, no friends. Come quietly, I'll take your soul, and we can discuss the whole thing out."
"Feel like those last two should be switched around..."
"Listen. I'll give you some time to think about it." Chara stood up and said, "Just don't be trying to sneak a fast one on us." With that, he left Frisk be.
Chapter 8
The next day, the group began to look in the city for Chara, because they had heard of some guy walking around with a fish drawing yesterday around there. But they still had no luck.
"No matter where we look, we can't seem to find him." Undyne said as she scratched her head. "Where could he be now?"
"Oh, hey. By the way, I-I can make a m-machine that could possibly track him down." Alphys suddenly piped up.
"You do?" Toriel asked. "...Why did you not tell us about that before we left?"
"W-well, I k-kind of liked hanging out with you guys again... I thought that if I built the machine right away... the adventure would b-be over to soon."
"Alright... so... we just go to your lab to find him then?" Sans asked with a shrug.
"...You know, guys, on second thought... maybe I should handle this myself." Frisk suddenly said. "It's me he wants, after all... I wouldn't want to drag you guys into something you have no part of."
"...I mean... didn't you already kind of do that, when you called all of us together?" Sans asked.
"Well... yeah, but... you guys are all my friends, but... I wouldn't want to get you guys hurt for my problems... I shouldn't."
Before anyone could say anything else, a completely white face suddenly appeared out of nowhere, looking at Frisk. "Do it." the face said, quickly yet strongly.
Everyone stared at the face, eyes wide and mouths almost agape. "...You know what? On second thought, let's all go to Alphys' lab... as quickly as possible." Frisk suggested. Everyone immediately began to book it, running away from the spooky face.
"...Well, that sucked... oh, well. Time to haunt the other kid."
Chapter 9
Chara was having a very nice dream as he slept in that day, imagining that he was back in the Underground, living with Toriel, Asgard and Asriel, just like old times. He had never felt so happy in all his life.
All of a sudden, all three of his family members suddenly died in gruesome, horrific manners, all of them disappearing and leaving Chara in shock.
"Hahahahahaha! Now do you see what your actions have caused? You see how many people truly suffer for your sins?" the face from the earlier chapter spoke, laughing manically, his voice sounding like some kind of strange, electronic speech.
After a few seconds of laughter, however, he suddenly gradually stopped as he saw Chara wasn't screaming or crying or anything. "...Uhhh... why aren't you reacting?"
"...I mean... this is all nothing I haven't seen before." Chara answered with a shrug. "I mean... I kind of killed all of them in the one reality... granted, I never wanted to, but..."
"Well... ok, but this is supposed to be a big shock to you... you're supposed to be all happy and feel like you've got everything you want again, only to realize you took it away from yourself, and can never have it back."
"Well, I'm trying to get it back. That's the whole point of why I'm doing this... I think... I don't know. I think I'm a bit inconsistent on that sometimes."
"...Well... alright... but what about... if you were to see, say..." The face suddenly appeared right at Chara's and spoke very loudly. "THIS?! BOO! SPOOKY HOUSE, MOTHER FUCKER! OOOOOH! I'M A SCARY GHOST! OOOOOOH!"
Chara stared at the face for a while before shaking his head. "Can I get back to dreaming, now? You're kind of bugging me."
"...Alright... you leave me with no other choice... I'm going to have to show you something so terrifying... so unspeakably horrible... you'll have no choice but to wake up screaming..."
"Yeah? What are you gonna show me? Monsters? Skeletons? Spiders?"
"No... something far worse... I'm going to show you... the future of modern cinema."
"...Wait, what?"
All of a sudden, Chara began to see visions. Pictures and clips of terrible movies to come. "Wh... what is this...? The Last Jedi...? Battle of the Five Armies... no. You can't do this...! This isn't possible! None of this can be... what's that...? Oh God... Disney live action remakes?! No! NO! NOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
Chara bolted up from his bed, screaming and breathing hard, his entire body covered in sweat.
"Everything ok in there, Chara?" Asriel called from outside of the room.
"Asriel! I need you to tell me something! Did a new Lion King movie come out recently?"
"Uhhhh... well... I think they did a couple HD and 3D reshowings of it, if that's what you mean."
"The animated version, or the live action remake?"
"...What the Hell is a live action remake?"
Chara gave a relieved sigh and laid back on the bed. "Thank goodness... I'm still safe yet."
Chapter 10
"Alright, here it is." Alphys said as she held a small radar, appearing to be in the shape of a remote control, up in her hand. "With this, we'll be able to find out where Chara is."
"Alright... so... how does it work?" Papyrus asked. "How does this machine track Frisk number two?"
"His name is Chara, Papyrus." Asgore corrected. "I doubt he would appreciate being called... Frisk number two."
"Well, you see, all we have to do is find some kind of remnant of Chara or one of his creations, something as simple as a bit of their DNA, something like that, and this machine will use that to track the largest gathering of said material."
"Ok... so how are you going to get something to be able to track?" Frisk asked.
"I'm... not quite sure..." Alphys answered hesitantly.
"Well, that's just great." Undyne grumbled as she crossed her arms. "...It'd be really nice if one of his creations could conveniently come along, so we could get a chance to-"
"Hey, everyone. How's it going?" came a man's voice. Everyone turned around and saw one with orange, fiery hair standing with a fish in one hand and his other in a cloaked puppet. "Name's Hothead. This is Neptune's Hound and Illusionare. Illusionare...? Illusionaire... Ill... fuck it. His name's Illusionist. How's that?"
"...Well, that's about as convenient as you can get." Sans said.
"Yeah... I'm here because I heard you had a little device that could track us down... and I see you have a little device that could track us down. You mind if I take it?"
"I don't think so." Undyne said as she had a spear appear in her hands. "If you want to get your hands on that device, you're going to have to get through me to-"
"How about we trade?" Alphys suddenly said.
"I... what...? Alphys, we need that to-"
"H-how about I trade you this device for... uhhh... one of your f-fish's scales...? Not the whole thing, mind you. J-just a little bit of its scales..."
"Yeah? You want the scales?" Hothead asked. "You're not trying to pull a fast one on me, are you?"
"Uhhhh... n-no...?"
"Alright, I'm convinced. Let's trade."
Alphys handed Hothead the device, and Hothead handed Alphys the fish, which she took just a couple of scales off of before she gave the fish back to Hothead. "Alright... nice meeting you guys." He walked out of the lab, whistling on the way out.
"...Alphys! What the fuck?!" Undyne yelled. "How are we supposed to track down Chara if we don't have the device?!"
"Relax. It was a fake." Alphys said as she held up another device. "I made a replica of the device and gave that to him instead."
"...But... you literally just made the device a few seconds ago." Sans pointed out. "...When did you have time to make the replica?"
"When Hothead and Undyne were fighting, of course."
"...But... we weren't-"
"Don't question it. Just roll with it."
Chapter 11
"Hey, boss. How's it going?" Hothead asked as soon as he walked back into Chara and Asriel's hideout.
"Well... Asriel is currently talking to a spider... for some reason." Chara answered as he crossed his arms. "Did you get the device?"
"Oh yeah. You better believe that I got the device." He gave the device to Chara. "There you are, boss. Completely legit, not fake in any sort of way."
Chara gave a little nod before dropping it on the floor and stomping on the device, completely shattering it and revealing it to be hollow. "...It's fake, man."
"...Oh... well, don't I look like an idiot right now...? So... should I just go back and... try to get the real deal?"
"No, no. That won't be necessary. They'll come to me, and I'll simply get Frisk's soul in a one on one fight here."
"Oh... well... in that case, why bother sending me to get the device in the first place if you want her to come here?"
"Well, she had to have some way of finding me, now didn't she? Now she has something that she could track us down with."
"...So you're literally giving her the means to foil your plans... that doesn't sound very smart, sir."
"I'm a villain. What did you expect? It's part of the contract. Alright. I'm gonna go talk to my brother. Ciao."
Chapter 12
"Hey, Asriel. You done talking to that spider yet?" Chara asked as he walked back into the bedroom.
"Yeah... I've been done for minutes now, when you tried to make me kill it." Asriel said. "...I'm not gonna tell you whether or not I actually killed it, though. Use your imagination on that one."
"Alright fair enough. Hey. Did I ever tell you about the emergency exits that are around here?"
"You... just told me that if there's any real danger, to just jump out the window."
"Alright. I did. Good." Chara looked down and began to think of what to talk about. "Uhhhh... well, in that case... hmmmm... oh! You wanna know why Frisk owes me her soul, and why she and I are more alike than you thought?"
"Oh, finally, you're going to answer that." Asriel said as he threw his hands up in the air and sat down on the bed. "Alright. I'm ready. Hit me with it."
"Alright... but I warn you, my dear brother. What you're going to hear is going to be very disturbing. It'll warp your sense of reality forever. Be ready... here we... go..."
Asriel waited for Chara to say something, but he just sat there, not saying a word. "...Well...? Are you going to tell me, or what?"
"Hold on. We gotta wait until the chapter ends."
"What?"
"Yeah. We gotta do it off stage. It'll add more ambiguity to your reaction and leave it up to the imagination."
"...You really should have been a drama class instructor." Asriel sighed as he crossed his arms. "Alright... fine... so when does this chapter end, so I can
Chapter 13
Frisk opened her eyes and saw that she was in a familiar room, one that she had dreamt of many times in the past, and one she dreamt of yet again, it seemed. Knowing what all to expect, she went downstairs, braving her way through the kitchen as she listened to her biological parents yell at each other. She was surprised to find that Asriel and Chara were standing in another room, waiting for her.
"...You didn't even let me finish my question." Asriel grumbled under his breath.
"Hey. I don't control what happens in this story. I only try to keep it moving." Chara answered before looking at Frisk. "Oh... there you are."
"...Alright, so let me guess... your family were drunks too?" Frisk questioned.
"Drug addicts, actually, but close enough, I guess." Chara responded with a shrug. "So I went up to the mountain to throw myself down and commit suicide, just like you did. Yes."
"Right... so... what part of that translates to me owing you my soul, exactly?"
"Well, you were terrified when you woke up alive in the Underground, so I kind of coerced you to working with me to kill all the Monsters to get my grand plan rolling. We killed them all, got our asses kicked a couple times in the process, and you wanted to go back, so we made a deal."
"...Right... so... uhhh... why don't I remember any of that, if what you say is true?"
"Look. I tried to keep some of your memories in tact, alright? Restarting an entire world that you had just destroyed is a lot more draining than you may think. A couple of things are bound to slip through the cracks, alright?"
"...Uh-huh... look, I don't really believe you. You're going to have to present some kind of proof."
"...Yeah. I figured that would come up." Chara grumbled as he took out a smartphone from his pocket and looked up "Undertale Genocide Run" in the Chrome tab before tossing the phone to Frisk. "Here. Is that proof enough for you?"
Frisk looked at the phone for a few seconds, scrolling through a couple of articles and videos that showed her killing of different Monsters. "...Well, shit." she said.
"Yeah... so... now that you know the truth... are you going to come peacefully and let me take your soul?"
"...I mean... I could... but... would you object if we scrapped instead?"
"...Hmmm... let me get back to you on that." Chara turned to Asriel and asked, "Is a fight good for drama?"
"...Well... I'm pretty sure, yeah." Asriel said. "If it's done right-"
"Good enough for me." Chara interrupted. "Alright. We'll fight instead. I'll see you there."
Chapter 14
Frisk gathered all of her friends up the next day. "...Alright... everyone... what I'm about to tell you may be a bit shocking to hear... you may think differently of me when I say this... but-"
"Let me guess. You killed all of us in another time, but then you wanted to go back, so you sold your soul to Chara to make it happen, right?" Sans asked.
"Wha...?! Well... yes... but, how did you-"
"Let's just say you're not the only one who has someone talking to you in your dreams, kiddo."
"...What?"
"Oh, nothing. Just foreshadowing."
"Well, alright. Great meeting, team." Undyne said. "Let's go beat that other guy up."
"Wait... that's it?" Frisk asked. "...I literally just told you that I killed you all in another time... and... you're just going to... ignore that...? You're still going to go with me, despite what I did to you?"
"W-well, we're here now... aren't we?" Alphys questioned.
"It matters not what has happened in the past, my child." Toriel said. "All that matters is that we are here together now."
Frisk was silent for a minute before she began to tear up a bit. "C... can we all bring it in for a group hug?" she asked.
Everyone complied, and they all got together in a group hug. It was a very heart warming moment for Frisk, to find forgiveness in those she loved, even after the worst sin against them was committed by her.
"Alright... time for us to get moving." Asgore said after the hug was broken up. "...It is time to finally meet my son... Chara."
"Sons, actually." Frisk corrected. "...Apparently Asriel is with him too."
"Ah... what?"
Chapter 15
They arrived at their destination; a tall, worn out building that appeared to be quite old.
Frisk turned to the right and looked at a sign that would have displayed what the building was called, but it was so worn out that it was impossible for her to tell. "...Eh. I'm sure it's supposed to be a reference to something that'll never be brought up or explained." she reasoned with a shrug. "So then... guess it's time we go in?"
"Not yet." came Hothead's voice as he now stood by the door. "Hey there. How's it going? Name's Hothead. You remember that? I don't think you remembered that."
"Yes, we know who you are." Papyrus said. "Now, if you would please move away from the door, so that I, the Great Papyrus and his best friends, can talk to your creator?"
"Alright. Yeah. That sounds pretty good... but first, how about a fight? You all wanna fight me, and the other two creations?"
"...No, not really." Undyne said, as all the others muttered in agreement with her.
"...Well... now I just feel pointless now too." Hothead said, deflated before stepping to the side. "Alright. Go on in. If you need anything, just call."
"Alright. Thanks, Hothead." Frisk said as she and her friends entered the building.
Chapter 16
They entered the room, and Chara was standing there, waiting for them, with Asriel standing right next to him, just as Frisk had said. Chara smiled and nodded in greetings to his guests. "Well now... I was waiting for you all to show up." he said. "...Because a certain someone didn't want to come here alone."
"Well, you know what they say about misery loving company." Frisk answered. "Isn't that why you brought Asriel back in the first place?"
"I brought Asriel back to life because I cared for him. Because I loved him. A sentiment that he shared with me. Isn't that right, honey?"
"...Wait. Honey?" Asgore asked. "...Are... are you two..."
Chara gave a smile and showed them the heart locket he had. "Asriel presented me with this just a couple of days ago. A symbol of his love for me."
Asriel finally spoke, his arms crossed and him looking to the side. "It's a friendship locket, for God's sake. It was your old one. It wasn't meant to be a-"
"And now, the two of us are here, intent on wiping out all of humanity, and rule the world together, as husband and wife." Chara interrupted, putting his arm around Asriel's shoulders. "Now, we are closer than anyone could ever imagine."
"I want a divorce..." Asriel grumbled.
"Alright. Well... congratulations to both of you... but... we've kind of been building up that I gotta fight you, so... let's just get on with it, alright?" Frisk asked.
"Yeah, yeah. Alright. We'll fight. But first, I got something cool I gotta show you."
"...Alright. What is it?"
"You see these six Human Souls floating around me?"
"...Yeah?"
"It looks pretty sick, right?"
"...I guess."
"Cool... alright. Transformation time."
The Human Souls all went inside Chara, and a bright light filled the room as he transformed, taking on a taller, more demonic, yet also somewhat feminine appearance.
"So, Frisk? What do you think of my new look?"
"...I think Mettaton is gonna sue somebody?"
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"Well... Mettaton's transformation is also more-"
Before Frisk could finish speaking, Chara suddenly appeared right beside her, kicking her hard in the face and knocking her to the ground, seemingly unconscious.
After a few seconds of silence, seeing that his sneak attack worked, Chara looked at Asriel and gave a nod. Reluctantly, Asriel took out a stereo system, and pressed a button, playing the Victory them from Final Fantasy. Chara stood there smiling widely, both of his middle fingers raised and raising one hand up while the other lowered alternately.
This was suddenly interrupted, however, as he was hit in the back of the head by a green frying pan, which also flew to Frisk and woke her up.
"...Well... that didn't go as quickly as I would have liked." Chara grumbled. "...Guess I gotta start giving you turns now, huh?"
Chapter 17
Chara remained silent as he stood there, waiting for Frisk to make a move. "...So... you going to attack me, or what?"
Frisk gave a little hum and shrugged before choosing Mercy. "Nah. Not yet."
"...Ok, but what if I attack you first?" he attempted to attack her, not doing anything too grand, but just trying to egg her on. "...And now?"
"...Nah, I've got time."
"Hmmmm... what if I do this?" Chara attacked again with a wave of mystical fire, which Frisk was hit by. "How about now?"
"...No."
"...Alright. Then in that case, I'm just going to kill you right now." Chara threw a dark ball of energy at Frisk that was too big for her to dodge. However, a yellow blast of energy fired out from his fingertips at the ball, blowing it up before it could reach Frisk, and only barely shaking her up a bit with the resulting explosion.
"...Nice shot there, Chara, but it seems like you let your ball explode a bit too early."
"That wasn't me... I think one of the souls just..." He shook his head. "Uhhh... never mind. You didn't hear that. Now I'm just going to-"
"Nope. My turn." Frisk suddenly said. Before Chara had time to react, Frisk slammed her stick into one of Chara's toes. Chara gave a yell of pain as he held his foot in his hands, jumping up and down.
"Why you little!" Chara growled as he slapped Frisk to the ground. "I'll show you how to take a turn. Do me a favor here. DON'T! MOVE!"
Chara raised his hand up in a fist to slam it into Frisk's face, but when he threw his punch, it was covered in a light blue aura, and it completely went through Frisk, like she was a ghost. Chara gave a little yelp as he felt his fist collide with the solid floor, immediately getting up and looking at his fist, feeling how it ached.
"...Alright. How did you do that?" Chara asked.
"I didn't move. Just like you told me to."
"...Right... well... I guess it's your turn now."
"Alright. Here. Let me make some instant noodles." Frisk pulled out a stove and turned it on to start boiling some water.
"...You serious?" Chara asked. "...You really think that I'm just going to stand around and not kick your ass while you're trying to cook? Well, sorry Frisk. It ain't going down like-"
Chara didn't bother to finish the rest of his sentence as he suddenly sat on the floor and fell asleep, giving a very long, very obnoxious snore as he started to sleep. Frisk simply glared at Chara and blinked a couple of times, not appreciating the snoring.
Chapter 18
Frisk had finished her little snack and woke Chara up so they can continue their fight.
"Alright, Frisk. Now it's my turn!" Chara attacked by picking up some large stones and throwing them at Frisk, Frisk able to dodge most of them, but getting hit in the head by one. "Ha!" Chara laughed after he hit his mark.
"Alright, my turn." Frisk responded as she hit Chara in the stomach with her stick.
"You're somehow getting stronger, I see." Chara said as he noticed his attack didn't do that much damage, and he was feeling Frisk's hits more. "Looks like I'm just gonna have to beat you to submission with an attack you can't dodge!" He shouted as he charged forward.
He began to throw a flurry of punches and kicks at Frisk, many of them hitting their mark, but eventually she noticed that they started to glow with an orange aura. Knowing what this meant, she started moving around a whole lot, the fists and kicks going right through her as she did before she responded by hitting Chara in the face, leaving a visible red mark.
"Ow...! Why are you doing so much more damage now?! How are you getting stronger all of a sudden?!"
"Oh, on the contrary. I'm not getting stronger. You're getting weaker. The souls are turning against you, and taking from you your power."
"That's not true... that's impossible!" Chara shouted. He wanted to move forward to attack Frisk again, but this time, he began to glow with a purple aura that completely held him in place, preventing him from moving.
"Now that you're unable to move... you wanna see what the power of pure determination is like?"
"Noooooooo!" Frisk gave a yell and began to mercilessly attack Chara with her stick, Chara eventually being covered in a blue aura that began to throw him around after every attack. Eventually, Frisk had hit Chara so hard so many times that her stick had broken, and Chara laid on the floor, seemingly unconscious.
"Heh... well, Chara... looks like your defeat has just been..." Frisk started to say before she put on a pair of shades. "...DETERMINED." She looked at her friends with a smile. "...Eh? What did you guys think? Was that a good one liner? I just came up with it myself-"
Frisk was suddenly interrupted by the sound of a small explosion as Chara stood straight up, laughing manically as he was covered in a black smog "Hahahahaha! You defeated me even when I had all of the souls. Nice job, Frisk, but my hatred gives me strength! Now, let's see if you are able to take on a black man!"
To this, Frisk simply stared at Chara, unable to believe he would say something like that. "...Wow... you... wanna take a moment to rephrase that?"
"Nope." Chara said before he swiftly kicked her again, kicking her so hard that she seemingly passed out.
Chapter 19
Frisk woke up in yet another dream, looking around and seeing the scene she was in completely frozen in time. "...Well... I lost." she said as she put her hands over her face.
"Y'all can't give up now!" came a young boy's voice as the Soul of Justice stood there. "You can still whoop this big mean mother hubber!"
"No, I can't."
All the other Souls appeared and said in unison, "Yes, you can!"
"...Oh. Ok." Frisk agreed with a nod as she woke up again, just in time to see Chara standing over her, a sword in hand.
"You finally see you cannot stand against my power." Chara said as he held his sword up in the air. "I... am ALL of the Hatred!" He yelled as he brought his sword down, ready to stab Frisk.
Instead, Frisk grabbed the sword, able to hold it back as she began to glow a rainbow of colors, the other Human Souls starting to give her strength. "And I... am ALL of the Human Souls!" She yelled as she pushed back, trying to get the sword away from her, and maybe throwing it away from Chara.
Instead, both of their powers were too great, and the sword completely shattered with an explosion, sending both of them flying backwards, doing a lot of damage to both, and both being unable to move.
"...Ow... that... didn't work out... nearly as well... as it did... for that other chick." Frisk grumbled as her friends helped her up.
Just then, the entire building began to shake, and the sound of cracking and breaking was heard. "Oh dear. It seems like that explosion was enough to start tearing the building down." Chara said. "Whoever would have thought having a final, epic battle in some worn down building would have been a really bad idea?"
"We have to get out of here!" Asgore exclaimed. "Asriel! How do we get out of here!"
"Uhhhh... Chara just told me to jump out the window in case anything like this happened." he said.
"...Works for us." all of the friends said as they all jumped out of the window. It was a bit of a fall, but all of them weren't too injured from the jump.
"Come on, Chara! We gotta get out of here!" Asriel shouted.
"Uhhhh... hold on a minute, bro. I'm a bit too beat up right now. Just let me relax a little bit."
"But... this whole building is coming down! If it comes down on you-"
"Asriel... did you not hear me? I'm trying... to rest for a little bit. Go on, join the others. I'll catch up."
"But... if you stay here, you could die!"
"And what would that add to the story, my dear brother?"
Asriel was silent for a few seconds before groaning. "I swear, you're addicted to this drama crap!" He went off and joined Frisk and the rest of her friends, jumping out of the building safely just before it came down.
Chapter 20
After doing a little bit of digging, they were able to find Chara again, still alive, but no longer in his demon form.
"Heh... see... what I tell ya?" he asked dizzily. "There's no... sorta building that... can stop me..."
"Well... as long as you're still alive and not too terribly broken..."
"Nah... I'm fine... now... Frisky... I need you to kill me."
"...Why?"
"Because... I'm like... a huge threat, and a menace to society, or something... I need you... to take this here knife... and kill me."
"...No." Frisk said as she took the knife and tossed it to the side. "I'm not going to kill you, Chara."
"Oh, but you will. You know you have to."
"No, I don't."
"Yes, you do."
"No."
"Yes."
"No."
"Yes."
"No."
"Why?"
"Why what?"
"Why don't you want to kill me?"
"Because I love you."
"Heh. Yeah, you... wait... r... really...?"
"Well... not like in a romantic way, but... I care about you, Chara... you don't really seem like that bad of a person... and I think if we were to just give you the chance to change... you can be someone great."
"Y... you really think that?"
"I know that."
Chara was silent for a few seconds before tearing up and sniffing a bit. "...C... can I hug you and cry a little bit?"
Frisk simply gave a little nod and smiled as she hugged Chara, Chara crying as he hugged her back. Frisk gave a smile and started to sing as the hatred that had previously held Chara together was being replaced by love to keep him together. "Now I've found you... There's no more emptiness inside... When we're hungry, Love will keep us alive."
Chapter 21
The being that had earlier terrorized Chara had appeared as he watched everything get fixed, and Chara agreed to live with Asgore and Toriel, along with Frisk and Asriel, to be a complete family again.
As he stood there, Darkeol suddenly appeared beside him. "...Just so you know... I know who you are... I know why you're here." he said.
The being turned towards Darkeol and began to speak. "...Oh yeah? And how do you know that. I existed far before you were created."
"Oh, in body, definitely. But not so much in spirit."
"...What's that supposed to mean."
"It's a set up for the sequel, where I'm actually going to do something of relevance, rather than just be a pointless implementation of something the writer had made a long while prior." Darkeol explained. "It's gonna be great. I'm gonna appear, do my thing, make a big reveal, and everyone's minds are going to be blown."
"...Fair enough... but how long is that going to take?"
"In terms of between story, or in terms of when the author actually decides to make the sequel?"
"What relevance is that?"
"Well, depending on what you're asking, it could be almost a year, or it could be several years in the future."
"...Please tell me the former is the answer for the author."
"Heh. You wish."
"Great... so he's actually going to keep you waiting to make any real use out of you and some of the other creatures whatsoever... which means I'm going to have to wait a long time to have my time in the spotlight."
"Eh... it could be a lot worse. We could be some of his other stories that he started, but hasn't updated in years."
"...He does that a lot too?"
"Oh, yeah. I mean, we're probably going to be put on hiatus for a few months or so after he actually starts the sequel... but hopefully it won't be a whole year."
"Figures... well, it's been nice talking to you, but... uhhh... you know. Lot of planning for revenge, and all that."
"Yeah. It was nice talking to you too." Darkeol said as he disappeared. "See you in the sequel."
The being gave a nod and looked as everyone had now left. "...Alright... now... which way leads me back to Mt. Ebott again?"
Author's Note: Happy April 1st, everyone. For this year's day of pranks, I decided I would have some fun at my own expense and make this to poke fun at what I believe, so far, is the best story I've published on here.
Things have been a little bit weird the past few months, somewhat in part due to what's going on now. Hopefully I'll have some time to work on my stories some more going forward.
Guess all I have to say to everyone now is thank you for taking the time to read this joke of a story, and be safe.
