Disclaimer: I do not own JAG. I only own Arianna
The airport wasn't that crowded and Arianna was thankful for that. She was also thankful that her family or her boyfriend weren't there either. She was quite emotional about saying goodbye to her almost step-father. The tears flowed now as she gently took his hand and sat down next to him as they waited for his flight to board.
"Hey now princess..." Mic said as he wiped the tears from the teenager's face, taking her into his arms, also thankful that there weren't that many people around. He had grown quite attached to the teenager in his arms and didn't want to let her go almost as much as he didn't want to let her mom go.
"I'll be back to visit! Just you wait!"
Arianna buried her face into his uniform now as she sobbed harder. "I can't help it. I really wanted you to be my step-father" she said shakily.
Mic took her face in his hands and kissed her forehead. "And I really wanted to be you're step-father. He placed gentle kisses all over her face before pulling her back into another tight hug.
"My beautiful girl. You will always be a daughter to me. No matter what you're crazy father says."
Arianna giggled shakily at the comment and wiped her eyes a little. "And you will always be a second father to me. Don't tell Uncle AJ or daddy." She was pretty sure Bud would be jealous as well.
She had run out of tears now and sat there in his arms, never wanting to leave. "Princess you know I'm going to have to get up eventually" he said as he pushed her hair away from her face.
Now Arianna finally knew what it felt like. To be one of those military brats that had to say goodbye to a parent as they went on deployment. It was an awful feeling and she never wanted to know what it felt like again. "I know. I will I just want to be like this until you board."
Mic chuckled and brought her closer to him. "Okay Aria. As you wish."
It seemed like hours that they sat like that, snuggled close to eachother as they silently waited for the boarding call. They didn't want it to come. Mic had always wanted a daughter and Arianna was the closest he could get.
Suddenly the dreaded call came and the two stood up and faced eachother. "I guess this is goodbye" Aria said shakily as she hugged Mic one last time.
"Not goodbye princess. See you soon."
He kissed her forehead once more and cupped her cheek before walking towards the gate, waving to her as he walked away. Arianna. The one person who came to see him off. The only one who cared about him now. The daughter he never had.
