Shaggy Rogers
It was early May when the gang had split up, they all decided that it was best to take different paths and "split up." This time it was permanent though, this time it wasn't part of one of Fred's cleverly contrived plans. Shaggy, Scooby, and Velma were going through motel after motel, most of them being poor in quality so they could save money for their new life. At this point it had been weeks since the gang had split up and Velma was sick of moving from place to place so much.
"Shaggy," she said as they went to their room where Scooby was waiting for them. "When are we going to find a place to settle down, you know we can't keep going around like this without a job."
Shaggy replied, "Like zoinks Velma, we'll find a place just you wait." He reached for his keys as he walked up to the door to unlock it with Velma by his side.
"No Shaggy I'm not letting this go." After Shaggy finished fumbling the key into the lock, they opened the door and walked into their motel room. It had gray dreary walls that screamed depression. The only source of the closing evening light was from the two windows on either side of the front door, on the only rug in the middle of the room lay a sleeping ScoobyDoo with an empty box of ScoobySnax by his snout. "You know we can't keep living like this Sha-"
"Ssh, we shouldn't wake him while he's sleeping," He interrupted. She made an annoyed hmph.
After they both got ready for bed, Velma in her light blue pajamas and Shaggy in his male green nightgown, Shaggy struck up the conversation again unusually. "Look, like i'm sorry Velma dude. I shouldn't have interrupted you back there, I know you're just trying to look out for us." Velma, who still had her back facing away from Shaggy with her arms crossed, turned to look at him in his brown eyes. She could get lost in staring at those eyes all day, she knew she couldn't stay mad at him, he was too special to her, she would do anything to be by his side.
"It's alright Shaggy, but I'm still serious," Velma replied firmly as she sat up. "We're going out tomorrow to find a new house in the next city and that's final."
Shaggy started to sputter out a reply, but was interrupted when Velma planted a kiss on his forehead. "Now get some sleep, we have a long day tomorrow," she said as she placed her thick lensed glasses on the side table and turned the lamp off.
'Yeah a long day.' he thought.
The early morning light started to shine through the curtains signaling him to wake up. It wasn't only that though, there was a heavenly sent coming from the makeshift kitchen in their motel. The sent seemed to be literally lifting him up by the nose through the room, luring him to the source of the heavenly dish. Suddenly, he was pushed to the hard linoleum floor. When he opened his eyes he was being greeted by his trusty brown and black spotted companion.
"Rhucks Rhaggy, rhut took you so rong," (Shucks Shaggy, what took you so long) Rabbled his glutinous pet dog.
"Sorry I would have woken you up earlier but you looked so peaceful," said Velma. "I literally had to hold him back from eating your food."
"It's alright Velma," he said as he took a seat to start eating his sandwich. 'It's perfect,' he thought. Brown toast, letus, ham, tomatoes, pickles, cheese, and whipped cream, topped with another slice of brown toast and a cherry on top. He was drooling just looking at Velma's creation. He couldn't have made it better himself. As he was about to take a large bite of the lord of sandwiches something unexpected happened. You see you'd think that Shaggy would've known Scooby by now but he was caught unguarded in his prone eating state when he took a large chunk out of the sandwich. There was a large pause as everyone contemplated what just happened, while Scooby was chewing happily on the delicious sandwich.
"SCOOBY!" a loud yell could be heard throughout the motel drivestop.
They were arriving in Dreamworks City in their yellow 2015 Honda Fit. Shaggy and Velma were at the front while Scooby was at the back unharmed from Shaggy's attack. Shaggy ocasiounaly took side glares at Scooby. "Hey stop giving the dog leers, he was only hungry"
"So was I." commented Shaggy solemnly. She rolled her eyes.
"You're always hungry"." They had been traveling on the highway through the countryside, all that they could really do was stare out the window at the beautiful morning countryside or strike up a conversation. Shaggy still seemed grouchy from missing breakfast as they had to leave bright and early.
Eventually, the landscape started to transfer into a town, then a city as they went through their trip.
"Rawr wre there wret?"(Are we there yet?) Questioned the still hungry pup, for the hundredth time of the trip.
"Actually, we are, say hello to Dreamworks City guys!" as she said that they were pulled into the view of the large city. There were skyscrapers at every corner, true to their name they did scrape the skys. As they drove through the city they took in the sites. They noticed that on this perfectly clear day not a lot of people were out on the streets.
"That's strange," Shaggy said as they passed by a few stores that were closed.
When they pulled up to their new one story blue house with one bedroom and bathroom. They didn't expect to see a sign that said the key was under the rug. What surprised them even more was that it was still there.
"Zoinks Velm, you sure this place is still good?" Shaggy said warily.
"Ra, Ris place grives rha creeps." (Ya, this place gives me the creeps). Velma paid them no mind and walked into their new home which was fully furnished, while Shaggy went back to their car to grab their belongings. At least they could now relax in their new home as the day was coming to an end, even if the city was strange.
-Secret base elsewhere in the city-
They were in a dark gloomy room. The only light source was the deep red light on the ceiling, there was also a lingering smell of blood in the room. It was best no one asked about that though. On a high glistening emerald crested throne sat an ogre attired in a casual green suit. One of his minions ran up hesitantly to him, bowing deeply before kneeling down in front of him. He dressed them all in a black suit with a capital S in the middle, accompanied by a green ogre mask to strip their identity from them. Only the people who were most loyal to him were able to show their faces.
"My lord, there's new inhabitants in the city." That was very unusual, they never really got new people. The ones who came and tried to escape found themselves heavily taxed. It was all a part of his plan, and those at the bottom just had to suffer for his own causes.
"Well laddy, did you tax them?" he said in a booming commanding tone.
"No my liege, I didn't get the chance to pick up their first payments, you see-" He never got to finish that sentence as he fell through the trap door activated by the button he pressed.
"Get another reliable team out there to get the job done!" He commanded. "If they don't pay up tell them to show me a bit of force." He said maliciously in his scottish accent.
