Hey everybody! This is my first fanfic in a long time, so I'm anxious to see how this goes. I think you'll enjoy this story and welcome any CONSTRUCTIVE comments and criticisms. Enjoy!
Chapter 1
Hi. My name's Hisstocrat. I'm here to tell the story of my family's forced move from the Layer-Cake Desert to the Raceway Steppe. It's full of highs and lows, triumphs and setbacks, and we meet many interesting people along the way. Let's get started, shall we?
First, I'll speak of how we were booted from our original home. It was just another average day until we heard a loud rumbling coming from above our hand-dug underground home. I, of course, went to the surface to see what was going on. When I arrived, I saw none other than the Koopalings wreaking havoc in our homeland. The one with the pink shell and red-rimmed glasses noticed me almost immediately and called his friends over. I decided to speak first, "Hi. What's all the commotion up here?" Roy and the other Koopalings glared at me before Wendy (I knew how name because an old friend of mine was enamored with her) spoke with an aggressive tone, "We're flattening this area to make a shopping mall for our adopted daddy to run! So, either get out or get crushed!"
I know I couldn't talk them all on and I didn't want to endanger my family, so after trying to come up with a plan, I reluctantly lowered my head, "Fine. We'll find another place to stay. Just give us a few minutes to pack." Roy spoke next, "Ye got five minutes. Git a move on!" I burrowed back to our home under the sand and quickly called the rest of the family. "We have to get out of here. The Koopalings are destroying our home to build a freaking shopping mall."
Tears started to form in the eyes of my family as my wife asked, "So…We're just booted out then? Were do we go now?" Luckily, I'd just bought some real estate in Raceway Steppe. I told my family all about it, "It's got plenty of area to dig and live in. And no one else lives in the area, but it's close enough to go out and do something fun elsewhere. It's a long journey to get there, but I don't think we have a choice. Let's just pack and get moving." We solemnly bid farewall to our beloved home and ventured off into the unknow.
