And I'm back with another fanfiction! Enjoy!

When Artemis found two-year-old Romela, she didn't know what to think.

With her calm, quiet, and composed attitude, anyone would've thought that Romela was easily a goddess in the form of a two-year-old. Maybe Hestia? But why would Hestia do that?

Either way, Artemis asked, "Child, what is your name?"

Most people her age would either shy away or be obnoxiously loud, but young Romela just smiled sweetly and said, "Romela Hunt. What's yours?"

Artemis smiled. "My name is Artemis."

Romela blinked. "Father told me to find you,"

Artemis wanted to frown, but she kept her face composed. But really, which sick man would send a two-year-old child to find her, the goddess of the Hunt? So Artemis asked. "Who is your father, Sweet One?" Why did Artemis feel like that would be a permanent name for Romela?

Romela laughed. "Oh, I have no clue. But, you know, everyone listens to fathers that they don't even know." It took Artemis a second to realize that Romela was joking. How precocious, Artemis thought.

And Artemis, goddess of the hunt, moon, wilderness, archery, maiden hood, and childbirth decided to give motherhood a try.

Romela was ten when Artemis disappeared.

She, unlike the hunters, did not hate boys with a burning passion, but she had to admit that the young boy, Nico, was way too chatty. So chatty that it had trespassed into the sea of obnoxious. Not that she didn't pity him; it must be hard to have your sister leave you.

Speaking of siblings, Artemis had told Romela about her twin brother, Jasper. Apparently, he had ran away from home that year, and was only found when he was caught shoplifting. Romela wished she could meet her brother, but with the war going on, it wouldn't be safe. Not for Romela, but for Jasper. If Romela was being one hundred percent honest with herself (and she was the only person she was one hundred percent honest with), Romela never really cared whether or not she got hurt. Or even if she died. So long as the people she loved were safe, then she'd be fine, walking the Earth or Elysium.

But when she offered to go on the quest (a.k.a. begged), Zoe Nightshade, who was practically Romela's sister, wouldn't hear of it. Instead, she chose Bianca, which Romela didn't understand because she had been training for eight years longer than Bianca had. But, of course, she wished Bianca luck and even hugged her, because she wasn't the type to let jealousy make her hate such a wonderful person. And she did the same for Zoe, because the Lieutenant was—again—like an older sister. And Thalia... well, despite Thalia and Zoe completely loathing each other, Romela always had a special connection to the charismatic girl.

But it was only once Bianca and Zoe were announced dead did Romela finally understand Zoe's actions.

After the second Titan war, Romela was sent on a quest by Artemis to go to Camp Jupiter. There, she consoled Reyna when she was heartbroken over Jason's disappearance, helped Percy when he was struggling with "amnesia", fought the Romans so the Seven could get on the ship, and snuck on to help with the quest.

But no one ever stopped to ask whether Romela Hunt was alright herself.

No one stopped to pick up the broken pieces of her that she dropped and left behind.

Five months after the giant war, Romela still wasn't claimed. And she began losing faith in the gods.

She began losing faith in herself.
