Chapter 1: The Betrayal
It was bright and early Saturday morning and Mario received a letter in the mail. It says:
"Dear Mario,
I baked you a cake. Please come to my castle quickly as possible. I need to have an important discussion with you."
Mario's eyes widened. What could be so important? Is she not ready for marriage? Is she pregnant!? Am I a father!? Mario panicked. Instantly he finished getting ready for the morning and hurried over to Peach's castle.
Toadsworth stood at the entrance.
Toadsworth: "Ah. It's a wonderful day, Mario!"
Mario: "Yeah, yeah. I gotta go."
Toadsworth: *Confused Pikachu face*
Mario darted all the way up the stairs, to find Peach in her bedroom.
Mario: "Princess, I came as quick as I could. What's wrong?"
Peach: "I think we need to reconsider this relationship, Mario. I feel like the only reason you save me is for that damn cake."
Mario: "I thought you loved me..."
Peach: "I love you as a best friend, Mario. But I think I found someone more love worthy. I'm going to see if I can ask him out."
Mario: "Who's he? Bowser!?"
Peach: "No! Why would I ever marry Bowser? I'm not telling you who it is, Mario. All I know is that you would have start a fist fight with him."
Mario: "Fine! If you don't love me anymore, then I won't save your ass! The new guy can save you! All by himself if he claims himself to be!"
The Princess slammed the door and locked it, sobbing full of tears. Mario walked out feeling like his heart shattered in a thousand pieces.
Luigi was in the backyard maintaining his garden. He noticed a couple of his tomato plants were infested with hornworms. He refused to use any pesticides. He wanted his produce to taste good, without any chemicals. Luigi saw Mario holding back his tears.
Luigi: "Bro, what's wrong?"
Mario: "I don't want to talk about it Luigi."
Luigi: "But I'm your brother! You can tell me anything!"
Mario: "Peach broke up with me, okay? And now she's talking about hanging out with some other guy. End of story. No more talk."
Luigi frowned, disappointed. How could Peach betray Mario like that? And... who was this "some other guy?" Mario and Luigi went their separate ways. Mario went on the couch to rest, while Luigi went out and bought a leopard gecko named Liz. He took the lizard to the garden. Liz was pleasantly surprised by the fat, green worms.
Mario: "What's with the lizard, bro?"
Luigi: "Oh! So I had this pest problem in the garden, and I wanted to be chemical-free so I bought a leopard gecko named Liz. Don't worry, I'm gonna take great care of her!"
Mario: "She's your responsibility. Even Polterpup ain't impressed."
Polterpup stares fascinatingly at the lizard. He instantly came over to smell and discover his new friend.
Luigi: "You were wrong, Mario. Polterpup is very impressed."
Mario: "Well, whatever."
Luigi puts Liz away in her nice, heated cage.
It was Sunday morning as Luigi looked out the window. He had his fancy dress clothes and shoes on, a green bow and most importantly, a Bible in his hands. Luigi looked at the time, then at his brother, who had absolutely no motivation for church.
Luigi: "Are you coming?"
Mario: "Sign me out."
Luigi: "You don't have to be so depressed, you know?"
Mario: "Luigi... GET OUT! Before I break your neck."
Luigi: "You need some help. May I suggest..."
Mario had enough. Brutally, he smacked his brother against the wall, Luigi trembling in tears. It wasn't long before Luigi had some broken bones. His neck, leg and a couple of his ribs were broken. Luigi was then dismayed and lost interest of church. He changed to his former green clothes, his church clothes destroyed, ragged and beaten, just like himself. Limping out the door, Daisy stood in shock. Luigi arrived at the hospital later on. Thankfully, he was able to tell what happened, no concussion.
Daisy: "So he literally... broke you?"
Luigi: "Yep. All because he is spitfire mad at Peach."
Daisy: "What did Peach do?"
Luigi: "Peach broke up with Mario and told him that she has fallen in love with somebody else."
Daisy: "Oh. I'll have a talk with her tonight."
Luigi: "Please, don't get into a fist fight like Mario and I did."
Daisy: "I won't. Now please relax. You need to recover."
Daisy was furious. Peach should have never mentioned falling in love with another guy. It's no wonder why he is so angry and depressed.
She knocked on the door.
Peach: "Who is it?"
Daisy: "Hey! We need to talk!"
Daisy gave Peach a very stern look, showing her how important this conversation is. Both girls went upstairs in the room to talk in private.
Daisy: "So you told Mario you were done with him. That's fine. Except the fact that you mentioned you had fallen in love with some else!"
Peach: "Why is this such a big deal!? It's my problem, not yours!"
Daisy: "Then explain this: Luigi was heading to church this morning and he asked his brother to come. Which he disagreed. Then Luigi told Mario that he shouldn't be all this depressed, blah, blah, blah. Long story short: Mario and Luigi got into a fight, which ended on a bad note for Luigi and he was taken to the hospital. No injuries except minor cuts and bruises on Mario."
Peach: "What!? My man got hurt!?"
Daisy: "YOUR MAN!? He's mine!"
Peach: "If you're talking about Luigi, he is ALL mine!"
Daisy: "Know what? Let's let Luigi voice his own opinion in this!"
Both Girls:: "DEAL!"
Daisy walked away, fuming with fury in the midst of the dark night.
To be continued...
