set in s3 episode 24: KT talks to Eddie for Patricia on the way to school

"Well the guy thinks the girl should know he really likes her..."

"Oh great"

"As a friend" KT stared blankly at Eddie as all excitement drained from her body, that was really not how she expected this conversation to go, surely this can't be right he's been pining after Patricia for weeks- Ohhh..

"Yeah somehow I get the feeling we're not talking about the same person" KT attempted to get out in a fit of laughter at the situation but also eddies face that was growing redder by the second.

"Eddie I don't like you I'm gay-" KT, abruptly stopping her sentence after realizing her words, began to panic. Years of torment from her classmates at her old school left KT with a fear of telling anyone too much about herself, everyone who she'd gotten even remotely close to had always turned out to be against her in the end.

At 14 years old KT confessed her feelings for her first best friend, Jodie, who ran away leaving KT heartbroken. The next day as she walked into school she was greeted with loud whispers and stares that made her want curl up and block out the world, but she's strong she remembered her grandad had always told her that and his is the only opinion that really matters. As she walked up to her bestfriends locker she noticed the whispers increasing "hey, can we talk?" the girl looked over at KT for the first time since she had spoken, "No thanks.. Freak" those words cut through her like a knife as well as the growing laughter and students, who she had always treated with kindness, all against her 'I'm not strong' she thought as tears began to fall as she ran through the hall away from the all the laughter and stares.

"What.. KT are you joking" No sentence has ever crushed her like this. All the feelings from that day of torment came rushing back, Eddie was going to tell the others and then everyone would laugh and whisper about her, she'd be cut from sibuna and lose her only friends.

Just as she felt the tears about to fall Eddie put his arm around her, "I can't believe you've never asked me to be your wingman? Big betrayal KT i thought we were friends" He mockingly put his hand to his chest pretending to be hurt.

Eddie never had a best friend in America, sure he had guys he'd go to parties with but they never looked out for each other or cared and the only girls he had as friends used him to get popular or into the best parties. No one actually wanted to be his best friend because of who he was but he still craved the attention they gave him because where else did he get attention from, his mom who worked all day and most of the night, certainly not his so called dad that never even bothered to answer his letters. Then he met Patricia who changed his life for the better, but eventually even she didn't want him in the end just like everyone else in his life, until he met KT who he had never expected to become such good friends with especially after telling her she's the girl from his dreams, which was incredibly embarrassing for him afterwards. To him their friendship healed each other and after being told your an Osirian and having your fate set out in front of you, you begin to believe in that sort of thing and he knows that they were meant to be friends.

"What?.. You mean you still care about me?" KT asked, a smile growing on her face as she processed his words carefully. The only person who had ever accepted her fully and actually cared for her was her grandfather who was no longer here, therefore Eddie's acceptance of her meant more to him than anything right now.

He could tell by her demeanor that she'd been hurt in the past for being who she was and it actually made him angry, KT is the sweetest person he had ever met how could anyone want to hurt her? It honestly left him bewildered, forgetting his usual bad boy front for a minute he decided to be honest with her.

"KT who you choose to love doesn't affect how much I love and care about you, I don't know who told you that it does matter but they're wrong, everyone in the house loves you that's not gonna change, sibuna needs you KT and as corny as this may sound i need you.. otherwise who's gonna tell me when i have food on my face"

"Just don't tell anyone I said all those mushy things, gotta keep my rep ya know" Eddie smirked, KT smirked back at him ecstatic at the fact that she can keep her best friend and be herself, something she'd never known was possible. He's right sibuna does need her just like she needs them, and lets be honest he does need her when he walks out with half a hoagie on his face.

"That is the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me and I wont tell anyone as long as you give me half of your midnight pancake stack" KT raised her eyebrows at the boy waiting for him to agree to their deal, it still amazed her how they could talk about something so serious and deep to then be joking around five minutes later. Which is a friendship she'd never experienced before, every time she tried to speak to them about her feelings it would always be turned around into KT apologizing but Eddie actually seems interested when she speaks about things that make her happy or when she's sad. It's then that she realizes she fully trusts Eddie, it was a new feeling to her.

"Ugh fine deal, also I am going to find you a girlfriend forget saving the world sibuna's new mission; find the new Mr.'s Rush" Eddie noticing that KT had began to relax, the tears now being replaced with that of happy tears and a smirk now appearing, he wasn't usually great at consoling people when they're sad but KT seemed to find his humor comforting.

"You're the Osirian not a matchmaker Eddie maybe we should fix yours first anyway" KT rolled her eyes playfully at a smirking Eddie who even he had to admit she's right his relationship ,or lack there of, was a train wreck right now.

"Touche KT, touche" Eddie said through a bust of laughs followed by KT as they walked back to school. KT with a new found confidence, finally beginning to believe her grandfathers and her best friends words.
