Chapter 1

Percy breathed in relief. His best friend Grover Underwood just managed to nearly fall into the pit from his dreams. Next to him Annabeth, who he met just a week ago, reached out to Grover while still holding on to stone in their vicinity. Percy would have done that too if he wasn't so captivated by the pit. He started to remember his dream and the sensation of being pulled from something in the pit. So captivated, that he did not notice the real pull towards the pit. "Percy!" He heard Annabeth scream, but it was too late, as he started falling in.

Percy felt sick as he fell. He drifted between consciousness and unconsciousness while thinking what this Tartarus in Greek Mythology entailed. He had heard of it from a few myths and knew that some titans were locked down there, but he wasn't still didn't know the whole tale about that place was. Despite that, he was sure, that there wasn't anything good down there. If it was worse than the underworld, he thought, then at least he wouldn't have to deal with Zeus.

Percy clutched the backpack from Ares very tightly in his arms. He knew, that if he survived the fall, he would probably need the supplies in there. Thinking about the backpack let him remember, that Annabeth and Grover were still in the underworld and probably very worried about him. This led him to think about his mother, but he quickly tried to stop thinking about her, else he drowned himself in despair. It didn't matter anyway since he started to drift into unconsciousness one last time.

When he woke up, he didn't expect to find himself at the shore of a wide river devoid of injuries. The ground beneath him varied from the colors purple, red and black and locked poisonous, but the probably strangest things about the situation was a woman, who was standing in front of him. She seemed to be in her late twenties and had waste-long jet black hair, and bronze eyes, which went well with her Mediterranean-like skin. The river's water kept swirling around her as if it wanted to protect the woman from possible harm. Percy could feel an aura of power coming from the woman.

"Perseus Jackson. It is a pleasure to finally meet the boy, that my master thinks is worth so much of his attention," said the woman with a smile on her face. Considering they were probably still in Tartarus, Percy didn't have a good feeling about the intention of the woman. "Is your master Hades?," he asked with a slight shake in his voice. The woman started snickering. "Hades?! He has no power down here. We're in Tartarus demigod. I'm the River Styx." "Like the oath?" Percy couldn't stop himself from asking. "My father swore on you to never have me." "Yes, that's right. I really hate it when gods break their promises on me. I can do so little to punish them." Percy took a step back. Maybe the River Styx wanted to get her revenge on her father through him.

"But, it's alright. My master would not have saved you from the Titan of Time, only for me to kill you. He would probably give me to Chaos if I do that.," Styx said shuddering, which reflected in the whole for Percy visible river. "The Titan of Time. Do you mean Kro-," asked Percy. "Don't you dare say his name aloud. Don't you know names have power!?," Styx interrupted him angrily.

"You could have ended up in the territory of night. Then even my master couldn't have saved you.," Styx murmured. "Say thanks to this master then.," Percy started. "But I really got to hurry up. Did you know that Hades stole the Masterbolt? I've got to get it back from him in order to prevent a war. I have a time limit." "You are wrong demigod. The Masterbolt was stolen by something far more sinister than the lord of the underworld." Percy looked shocked but noticed the opportunity. "Then you know you really stole it? Please there is little time left for us.," he said with desperation in his voice. "First, time here in Tartarus goes different than in your world. There are areas where time goes by faster, areas were time goes by slower and even areas where time goes backward on the earth while it goes forward in Tartarus. The primordial of time cursed his brother Tartarus after a fight so he can't meet their sister Earth properly." This really confused Percy.

"But who stole the Masterbolt?," Percy asked again. "The follower of the Titan of Time. He is in the process of escaping. My master is weakening.," she said spitting out the worlds as if they were poisonous.

"I will help you get out of here using the powers my master gave me. You will be unconscious for most of the way but just to clarify. Two things: First, because of the time difference you will wake up one day before the end of your time limit. Second, should you pass through the land of the dead, do not touch any of the dead. The combination of the power could lead to them manifesting, and I don't think that would entail anything good for you."

"Who are his followers?," Percy asked but he started feeling dizzy before feeling himself being swept away and falling into unconsciousness.

The moment Percy woke up, he found himself being blinded by light. After his eyes adjusted to his surroundings he saw himself being pulled through the fields of Asphodel. Percy guessed, that he probably woke up earlier than expected. The dead around him parted ways to lead him through. They looked rather scared. After a while of that, he saw a girl with curly brown hair in front of him. She had turned her back towards his body and didn't see him coming. Percy knew what was coming before it came to pass. He fell into the girl and they both tumbled towards the ground. The girl looked shocked at Percy, as her body started to manifest. She has startlingly golden eyes. Before really thinking about it, Percy grabbed her as they were dragged further through the underworld. As they arrived at the surface they could see the sun rising, introducing daytime, as both Percy and the girl fell unconscious.
