RWBY: Grimm's Chance In Remnant
Grimm's POV
I've been what these 'humans' call a 'Creature of Darkness' for over a thousand years and I've killed thousands of these so called 'Huntsmen' and 'Huntresses' without regret and I've slaughtered smaller humans that they call 'children' mercilessly and without remorse. My prowess and skill in battle is beyond comparison and it is why I have been given the title of Original Beowolf, as I was one of the first ever created. The other originals have all but died by the hands and steel of this pestilence called Humanity, but I alone stand atop the throne of the originals.
I walked on all fours through the forest, watching and patrolling my territory as I the golden sun beamed through the luscious green foliage and hit random patches on the green grassy floor of the forest. My pitch black fur bouncing with each step and the boney red veined spines jutting out of my back acting as razor sharp blades and my skeletal white armor which was light as a feather, impenetrable by any means reflected the light which warmly patted my fur. My head wasn't covered by a mask like those other weaklings which I unfortunately call my brethren, instead my void black fur covered my entire head but all you could see from then on was my always angered and hate fueled crimson eyes which streaks of vein-like crimson stemmed from as if it were growing. Planted onto and jutting from my arms up to my elbows was a familiar white, bone-like armor which had three different sized bone blades jutting from my arms. The closer they were to my wrist the smaller they were, with the largest and sharpest of them all being the ones closest to my elbow. On my back two legs were similar bone armor but they didn't house any spines or spikes unfortunately but covering my stomach and chest were an extremely hardened bone armor which I can't be grateful enough for because it's save my life more than once as evident by the large scratches and cut marks dug into my chest. At the end of my large paws were razor edged knife blades which would cut through anything in my path whether that be aura, flesh, bone, stone, wood or metal my claws would cut through it like mist. But if somehow my claws failed to get through, I have a little secret… for inside my knuckles were a second set of retractable bone claws which would certainly get the job done as they cut through the air with no resistance and would cut through steel like it wasn't even there.
Continuing through the forest as my paws stepped over the grass in my path harmlessly I pushed my way out of the foliage only to find a massive pack of Beowolves hunting in my territory! My mouth edged out an enraged scowl and I growled softly. They must've chased something into my territory and are just finishing the job. I turned to leave and go back into the serene and calm forest when I stopped mid step as I saw the glimmer of a metal object in my peripherals. Turning back around and standing on my hind legs to my full height which was several feet taller than that of an Ursa Major which the tallest I've seen in my long years was nine feet tall. That would put my standing height to at least twelve or fourteen feet tall while my quadrupedal walking height was seven or eight feet tall. I stood on my hind legs and that's when I saw them, when I saw her.
Standing in the middle of the circle of the surrounding Beowolves was a Huntress who looked to be in her mid thirties or late twenties, she was clad in a silver white cloak which under that was a red dress with a white shirt underneath that for either added protection for what little it would do or added protection against the elements. She wore a dark red skirt which had a few white fabrics layered underneath it. I could see her face, which her skin was almost pale as the shattered moon and her hair was black which led into red tips and ends as it was tied into a messy bun near the back of her neck. Her silver eyes glinted with a low amount of life as her silver aura faded and flickered before it broke. Her arms were both bleeding and her stomach had a large gash in it as she winced and stumbled. Her legs were leaking crimson as I noticed a small chunk of flesh was missing from her left shin and it looked somewhat deep as far as I could tell.
She desperately tightened her already iron grip around a strange weapon which was a pole with two curved blades at the end of each side, both facing an opposite direction. I believe this is what humans call a 'Double Bladed Scythe' if I'm not mistaken. The scythe was white besides the actual blades themselves which were covered and dripping with the blackened red blood of my likely dead brethren. At the beginning of each blade was a flower-like crest which was red like a rose.
The Huntress was breathing heavily and shook as she tightly pressed her right eye closed due to the likely sharp pain spreading into her body due to the wounds inflicted onto her. I could smell and sense all the fear, worry, and sorrow oozing off of her and wafting into my body and I don't know why but… I hated it.
Somewhere in the back of my head a soft and young feminine voice called out to me and resonated within my body. "Please mommy, please come back okay. Please come back safe." The young child-like voice whispered as droplets of water sifted down my beastial cheeks slowly before pittering quietly onto the green grass and shattering like a raindrop.
I raised my paw silently to my cheek to inspect this phenomena which afflicted me and I pressed my paw onto my cheek gently before removing it and holding my paw out in front of my head. Looking at my paw as I rubbed my thumb claw across my paw's palm I could feel the wet liquid touching my shadowborn fur and skin. I could feel something in me twitch, it felt like a pull of a string. The tugging continued to be a small nuisance until it felt like something dug a blade directly into my chest and began twisting it before pulling it out and thrusting the blade into my again and again, yet there wasn't a human in front of me who could do that because all that there was in front of my was a trespassing pack of pests and a human woman who was going to die! I shouldn't, no. I don't care that this human is going to die and I shouldn't! So why? WHY? WHY DO I FEEL THIS PAIN IN MY CHEST!?
I clutched my head in pain as my trespassing brethren pain no mind. One of my brethren crouched down before running at the woman, who tried to sloppily cut her scythe into her attacker. The Beowolf just swatted the weapon away effortlessly with its paw and I felt the woman's worry and fear as well as sorrow skyrocket as the rest gained hungry looks from this enticing scent of misery. As the scent hit my senses the pain in my chest also rose to levels I didn't think possible for any creature to feel especially a Creature of Darkness.
I opened my maw slightly and silently gasped before snapping my eyes shut and tightly closing them as they began to burn like they were burning in flames, as the soft voice in my head began to roar with a simple plea. "PLEASE SAVE MY MOMMY!"
I felt the burning end with a pulse and released a low growl from my opened jaw as my eyes snapped open and the Beowolf pounced towards the woman who shut her eyes tightly. I slammed my paws onto the ground creating spider web-like cracks all over the ground and returned to running on all fours as I shot off towards the Beowolf and the woman raising up dirt and rock as I ran and as soon as I was close enough, I raised my claw and brought it down before feeling the wet sensation of blood wash down my claw.
Summer's POV
As the Beowolf had pounced at me I closed my eyes tightly, and witnessed my entire life playout in my vision. My birthdays, arriving to Beacon, meeting Raven and Qrow and Tai, forming our team and me being placed as leader, Tai and Raven's marriage and them having little Yang, my first date with Qrow, Qrow proposing to me and all the feelings of happiness I felt in that moment, our marriage, and finally holding my daughter Ruby in my arms for the first time… so many emotions flooded into my heart and my soul but all that I could feel now was regret and sorrow. I regret that I'll never be able to feel proud at Ruby going to school, watching her grow up and watching her get married and have kids of her own and getting to know my grandchildren. I regret that I'll never be able to say, 'I love you' to Qrow one last time and that I'll never get the chance to bake Ruby another batch of cookies. I'm so sorry for leaving you like this, even though I promised that I'd come back. I'm so sorry that I've broken that promise.
As my eyes are shut tight I suddenly feel the warmth of blood on my face and wait for the end of my life. Six, ten, fifteen seconds pass as I feel nothing and you'd think you'd feel something like pain in the end except I didn't feel pain. I slowly cracked my eyes open, inviting the light of the sun into my vision as I saw what looked to be a shadow standing above me. Opening my eyes wider I finally saw what was above me, the Beowolf that had once pounced on me aiming to take my life was now limply hanging in the air as it slowly began to dissolve but not before I noticed the sight of a large Grimm-like claw jutting through the Beowolf's head and out of its mouth.
I gasped as the Beowolf finally dissolved away and revealed my savior to be… another Beowolf. But… this one was so much different than the rest. It's claws were knife-like and one of them was dripping with the blackened blood of the Gimm it had just slain. Its fur was black like the rest except it was much, much bigger and it had bone-like Grimm armor on its chest, arms, legs and back. On its back I could barely see that there were small spines jutting out of the bone armor which was almost completely covered by black fur. I could see something sticking out of its claw's knuckles and his teeth were visible and bared as its growls were seething with rage. I looked up slowly to look into the Grimm's eyes and expected to see hatred and rage filled eyes which boiled over with crimson light but all I saw was a pair of soft flame blue eyes and a wolf-like maskless face staring down at me.
The blue eyed Grimm lowered its claw and stumbled back as if it was shocked at its own actions. It looked at its paws before it began breathing heavily like it was having a panic attack, it grabbed its head before cutting its head towards the sky and letting loose a primal roar which shook even the very earth we walked upon. The roar startled the other surrounding Grimm and all the Beowolves ran off except for a small group of three Alphas. These Alphas looked pissed and once the blue eyed Beowolf finished roaring they snapped around and turned towards the other three Alphas. One of the three Alphas was heavily scarred and his name was just that, Scar which was fitting since he was covered in hundreds of battle scars, another one was fairly young and on his chest he appeared to have the symbol of the Schnee family which meant that this was the Schnee Grimm also simply called, Schnee. The final and the oldest looking of the three Alphas had half of his mask missing and his face was half burned, which meant I could see his skull… this one's name was Skull the leader of the Alphas and the one I was sent to kill along with the other two Alphas when this all happened.
Skull stepped forward and seemed growled out a few things like he was communicating to the blue eyed Grimm who I'll just call Blue for now, but all that Blue did was just look at the three of them with a cold glare before looking back to me and seemingly began to think. After a few seconds Blue snarled out a reply which caused Schnee to stamp forward and roar out something angrily. Blue did nothing in response which only angered Schnee even further to the point where Schnee lunged at Blue with a roaring fury.
I gasped as Blue didn't react to the attack but simply stood there as Schnee neared my Grimmborn savior. I tried to get up but sadly my injuries only reacted by pulsing with a painful cry, causing me to fall back to the ground. I watched as Schnee got ever closer to Blue but then I witnessed something incredible. Blue's body swiftly blinked out of existence before reappearing behind Schnee's still lunging body. I looked at Schnee to only find that his eyes were completely blank, devoid of anything he once held.
His body then split into five different parts of Grimm flesh as he died before all the different parts hit the floor and spilled with blackened blood as said liquid pooled out and disintegrated as did the body of the Grimm I was contracted to kill. The remaining two Alphas, Scar and Skull, looked shocked and even fearful if that's even possible. I suddenly felt a jolt of pain before looking down and remembering I was still wounded. I had lost too much blood and I had known it because my vision was ebbing in and out and I could feel my consciousness leaving me as the adrenaline stopped pumping into my veins.
I lurched over and coughed violently into my hand before pulling it back and seeing that there was blood still pouring out from my stomach's deep wound, the crimson liquid that kept my body going until I was supposed to die… W-Was I dying still? I fell onto my side and looked towards my weapons as I heard the fading sounds of wild animals ripping and tearing at each other. The last thing I saw before unconscious was a large bloodied claw picking up my weapon before I myself was picked up, then just like that, I passed out.
Blue POV
I had just finished off the last two of those prideful Alphas and picked the woman and her weapon up before feeling her body fall limp in my arms. I could feel her life draining away but I wasn't about to let that happen. I continued to run on my hind legs towards the nearest human settlement I knew of, Vale. Or more specifically, one of the most famous schools known for creating and forging the deadliest Huntsmen and Huntresses I've ever fought, Beacon. It was a long shot but I didn't have a choice. I continued to run and nothing was stopping me and it felt like hours as the woman's body began to grow colder. I honestly didn't know what I was doing. Tossing my title as the last of the originals away just for some woman? What on Remnant was wrong with me?!
My mental berating had to wait as I soon came across a large clearing where the distant view of a large castle-like structure with a large tower in the middle. Knowing I was close, I sprinted off towards the structure at a greater speed as my second wind kicked in. I wouldn't let this woman die today. Suddenly my claws felt the shuffle of movement and I looked down to see that the woman was barely moving, in fact her breathing was becoming labored and she was having trouble clinging onto life. I gritted my teeth and forced myself to move faster, then that strange tingling in my body awakened again, I thought that pain that had forced me to move when I first saw the white cloaked woman would hit me again but this time it felt much different as I felt the temperature in the air increase be at least a dozen degrees as the grass patches which my feet landed in left smoldering footprints wherever they landed.
I could see that a warm blue aura was forming around my paws which then fed into the woman's which her aura slowly faded back into existence. Her arm and leg wounds were slowly but surely being healed as her larger gash wound in the middle of her stomach slowly stopped bleeding but the wound was still open and I could sense that there was damage to some of her reproductive organs that would be extensive and irreparable. Once I got to a good and favorable distance I leapt into the air and I hugged the woman and her weapon close to my chest with one arm and reached out towards the rocks of the cliff but when I jumped… I went much higher than I thought possible for Creature of Darkness.
I went thousands of feet into the air, losing my bearings for a few seconds before I noticed that I was coming down in my decent, hard. I got myself back together before pushing the woman closer to my chest with my other hand which was the one I was going to use to climb the mountain. I noticed that I was coming down into what looked like the middle of Beacon.
"Shit!" I growled as I braced for impact as I landed onto the roof of a building in Beacon, crashing down with a mighty boom!
The noise was silent. Nothing was making a sound. I huffed before standing up onto my hind legs once more and looking around as the dust cleared. That's when I noticed where I was. My eyes widened in a moment of realization as I witnessed hundreds if not a thousand young humans looking at me with wide eyes, all of them stopping whatever they were in the middle of doing, most likely eating as one of the kids I noticed who was wearing a brown and black hat with black tinted things on her face that I've seen some humans wear to apparently help them see, well I saw her just drop a utensil which I believe is called a fork onto her table as her jaw slacked and went wide open.
No one, not even I, dared to move a muscle until one random human asked. "Holy shit… Is that a Grimm?"
Grimm? Is that what they call us now? I kinda like it but I am a bit out of the loop. Still I slowly looked down and noticed that the woman's breathing was getting worse. I frantically looked around before seeing someone, an incredibly familiar someone at that. It was the eyes that gave it away, his shocked expression and those wide oak brown eyes, the eyes of someone who's lived his entire life and several other lives training people to kill us 'Grimm'. It was Ozma… or should I say Ozpin? That is what he goes by now isn't it? His frizzy grey, white hair matched by his green scarf and his formal attire, complemented by that age old walking stick of a weapon. He looked straight at me and I tried to turn my body only to find that I couldn't move, I was being held in place by a strange purple aura.
I shuffled what little I could before showing the woman that I was holding close to my chest, I was hiding her weapon behind my armor because I wanted to keep something of the woman that made me feel so strange. The students gasped as they saw the woman and Ozpin's eyes widened considerably before he ran over to my frozen body and a woman with was seemed to be… wait is that a fucking BDSM riding crop? What the fuck are these Huntsmen and Huntresses into these fucking days!? I may be a thousand some odd years old but I know a lot about raiding villages and I can tell you, these humans can get into some weird ass shit. And that's coming from a Grimm, a Creature of Darkness.
Anyway, the riding crop blondie released the strange force which I believe is her Semblance around my paws and I gently lowered the white cloaked woman to the ground, careful as to not agitate the wounds. I noticed that the strange pressure began to barely press itself against my neck as the blonde haired riding crop woman visibly began to exert herself. Was she trying to break my neck? That ain't going to work hu-. Suddenly pain erupted from my chest, unlike the one which forced me to save the woman at my feet. My eyes shrunk to pricks as the pain flared in my chest until it exploded out of control throughout the rest of my body. As soon as the woman I saved was away from me I knew I had to get out of here. So I started to struggle and little by little the strange force around me began to crack.
"Um… Professor Goodwitch?" The girl with the tinted thing on her face covering her eyes began to slowly say.
"Yes miss Amass?" The blondie named Goodwitch asked.
"I think the Grimm is breaking out." The girl named Amass pointed out.
Shit, welp gotta do this fast. I suddenly snapped out of the force and roared loudly, causing tables and humans to go flying back. Taking the chance I leapt straight into the air once more as I flew out of the building and back towards my forest. I was nearing the forest which these humans call, The Emerald Forest when I was blown off course as the pain erupted through my body once more. I yelped in pain as I was sent careening into a bunch of extremely old ruins. Looked like they hadn't been used in a millennia. I crashed into one of the old towers but the ruins as sturdy as they are somehow weren't disturbed. I laid in the middle of the tower unable to move as the woman's scythe fell out of my armor and tumbled over a little ways away from me.
Slowly and painfully I wrapped my paw around the weapon and brought it closer to me. I could feel my shadowborn bones cracking and snapping out of place as I began to pass out from the pain. I let out a few pride paining whimpers for help as I soon found myself unconscious. Tightly holding the weapon of the woman I had saved in my paws as my vision faded and went to black. The pain followed and soon ended but I never would have expected what would happen as I was unconscious.
Third POV
As the body of the Original Beowolf, who was named Blue because of his blue eyes by Summer Rose, laid unmoving and unconscious his body and bones began to shift. Cracking and snapping followed by the crackling and popping of flesh resonated within the old tower ruins until his body shrunk and his armor receded into a different type of armor and covering.
His pitch black fur disappeared until all that was left was pale skin. His bone white armor and spines shrinking until they melded back into the newly made flesh, this continued until all that was left was a slightly muscular and tall person with pale white skin and void black hair. He additionally had a pair of fluffy black wolf ears on the top of his head and had a wolf tail lying behind him which comfortably roped out of his lower spinal column and laid on the floor. His bone white armor had now turned into a pair of comfortable black jeans which had red and white vein-like designs along with a black long sleeve shirt. His hair was messy and looked unkempt. It flowed peacefully in the slow breeze and did so for long nights and long days.
*Timeskip*
Time began to pass quickly at Beacon, Summer Rose's condition was notified to Qrow Branwen, her husband and the rest of her team. They investigated the Emerald Forest for the Grimm that brought her in through the roof of the cafeteria for days on end and found nothing other than large burnt Beowolf tracks. The search went on for almost two weeks until Summer awoke which called off the search because for a strange reason, the Grimm that brought her into Beacon had saved her from dying on the mission to kill the three Alphas.
Summer's savior Grimm, named Blue because of his warm flame blue eyes as Summer described them is a high search target but even now after so many long years, no one has been able to find him nor her weapon, the Dual Scythe named Rose's Thorn. People have still been trying to find them in the forest sometimes it got somewhere but many times it did not. No one's known where they are or where they've gone to or how but Summer did recall that Blue was different, that he was much, much older than any of the other Grimm. But that is all she knows.
However she and Qrow were devastated when they found out that during the attack, Summer's reproductive organs, more specifically, her ovaries were extensively damaged and she would never be able to have kids again. Summer wanted to find that Grimm more than ever after hearing that Blue might've been in the Emerald Forest. All she wanted to do was thank the one that saved her life. Qrow wanted to thank the Grimm that had saved his wife and Ruby wanted to find the Grimm that brought her mother back home.
Now, almost a decade has passed and Summer's daughter Ruby Rose stands at the top of Beacon Cliff, facing the Emerald Forest where her mother's savior is rumored to be hiding. She stands with her scythe, Crescent Rose folded on the back of her waist and her long red cloak flapping slowly in the wind, her black and red hair bouncing in the wind as her black and red dress moves ever so slightly. Her red souled and mainly black boots provide cover for the slightly chilly air. Her silver eyes looked out at the forest with determination and a question.
Walking up behind her was a girl who was two years older than her at seventeen years of age. Her incredibly messy and long pure yellow long hair which went down past her waist and her lilac colored eyes and her fair white skin. She wore a tan leather jacket which still exposed her stomach and a visible yellow bra which still exposed part of her large breasts. She wore short shorts and a brown leather belt along with yellow stockings and heavy brown boots and on her wrists were two yellow bracelets. This girl was Yang Xiao Long. The daughter of Taiyang Xiao Long and Raven Branwen, Ruby's cousin.
"Hey," Yang began placing her hand on her cousin's shoulder giving her a sympathetic look. "If Blue's in there, we'll find him. C'mon, we've got an initiation to do." Yang told Ruby.
"Yeah, you're right." Ruby said back with a twinkle of hope in her eye.
The two of them walked over and stood on two silver pressure plates with the Beacon symbol on them. To the two girls' lefts and rights were several other students and standing next to Ruby was a very nervous blonde haired boy with a set of white and gold accented armor with a compressed shield acting as a sheath for a sword. "Alright," A man with grey white hair said with a small smile, this man was Prof. Ozpin and the woman standing next to him was named Professor Goodwitch. "Now that everyone is ready, we will begin our initiation." Ozpin said as the screen panned over to the towering structure behind him in the Emerald Forest.
Deep inside the center of the top of that tower laid a silent mound of overgrowth and vines as well as foliage laid dormant as the sheen of a weapon's blade sharply glimmered with the sun and light. Suddenly the mound of overgrowth flinched as a drop of water dripped onto one end of it, the mound of overgrowth moved before the figure of a man silently sat up as the overgrowth slid off the man and the vines around his body snapped apart. The man began to wobbly stand up, pulling a weapon out of the overgrowth. The weapon was white and where the blades met the pole there was a ruby colored rose. This was the Rose's Thorn, the weapon of Summer man shakily stood up and used the Rose's Thorn as a walking stick as he released a few confused and questioning growls and snarls. He walked over to the edge of the tower and looked out at the sight, his warm blue flame-like eyes staring softly at the landscape below him. His black long sleeve shirt rising and falling with each breath he took and his black jeans loosely fitting around his lower half as he watched the landscape. His bare feet tapping the cold stone ruins as he pressed them onto the ground and his messy unkempt void black hair flowing and bouncing in the breeze, a void black tail wagging slightly in the same breeze as a pair of two wolf ears protrudes from the top of his head.
The man looked out at the landscape and witnessed as the students of Beacon came crashing down into the forest. Chittering to himself in a beast-like manner the temperature of the ruins room escalated a couple degrees as the man's body glowed an eerie but calm neon blue. This man's name was none, for he had no name besides the one he was unknowingly given.
Blue
