This is an alternate story of Darth Malgus and Satele Shan.
A new path
Below the starry sky, the fire pit burned high within the lush green clearing surrounded by a deep forest as Satele Shan blankly stared into its orange depth. She had been living here for so long she almost has forgotten about life beyond the planet. Everyone she ever cared for was either dead or estranged. After witnessing the constant defeats and pointless wars of the Republic against the Empire, she cut herself off from the Jedi order and exiled to this peaceful place, where she spent her days meditating. Occasionally, the spirit of Darth Marr, who was her only companion in this lonely exile, visited her.
Even though he was a Sith, they found a mutual ground and understanding, deepening their relationship. Despite his calming presence, she was lonely and wished her son was here with her. However, she knew this was just futile thinking. He didn't want anything to do with her and she didn't blame him. She just wished that before she died she could speak to him one more time and tell him how much she loved him.
"Maybe one day." She murmured into the fire and then she pulled her coat tighter around her slender body.
"He is coming, you know that, right?" Darth Marr's spirit appeared on the other side of the fire pit staring at Satele.
"Why, him?" Satele asked with a frown. "I don't understand."
"He is a changed man." Marr replied. "He is no longer who he was."
"You have so much faith in him, I don't understand why?" Satele said looking up toward the sky. "In my eyes, he is a monster and nothing ever will change that."
"You are stubborn just like Revan." Marr said shaking his head as he stepped around the fire and sat down beside her. "If he was here now, he would tell you that keeping a grudge wouldn't do any good. It would only deepen the darkness within you. You are a brave and strong person, but also kind-hearted and warm. I know you Satele."
"Do you now?" She asked, looking at his translucent form.
"I have faith in you and you should have faith in him." Marr replied. "He has been lost and angry for a long time now and I know he direly needs the right guidance and you are the perfect bridge between light and darkness."
Shaking her head, she asked. "But why him?"
"Sometimes life can bring unexpected surprises when we are not ready for it." Marr replied. "These unexpected events can even turn the evilest beings to the right path. Would you turn him away if he asked for your help and forgiveness?"
"Yes, I would." Satele replied with a stern face. Then she added. "I know this is not the answer you were looking for. I'm sorry to disappoint you."
"I know this is a lot to take in, but I trust you, and I have faith in you." Saying that his spirit disappeared leaving the sullen faced Satele alone. Half an hour later, after she put out the fire, she retired to the small cabin that she built on this clearing. Although this was far from being a luxuriant apartment like the one she had on Coruscant, she loved her cozy little home and wouldn't change it for anything.
Pulling the covers up, for an hour she stared at the wooden ceiling thinking about the man who made not just her life hell but the lives of others as well. Knowing that he was heading her way, at first, it made her angry, but as weeks went by, there was a spark of curiosity building up inside her as well. She wondered what happened to him and why he left the Empire after all these years of service. The last time they met, he was determined to bring down the Jedi Order with the Republic at all costs. Now, according to Marr, he was a changed man running away from the establishment that made him who he was. Ironically, he did the same she once did, which made her laugh out loud.
"You better be right about him, Marr." She murmured into the covers.
One month later…
He had no idea what made him come here, but there was something within the Force that pulled him here, something he couldn't explain.
Leaving his ship behind, he walked through the dark forest bustling with life, and then something caught his attention.
Looking straight ahead, behind the bushes he saw a wooden cabin neatly tucked within the terrain. Next to the cabin, there was a fire going. Its bright glow enveloped the area and the wooden bench beside it.
Someone lives here, he thought with interest. Then he saw a woman dressed in a long brown coat walking out of the cabin approaching the fire and taking a seat on the bench. He only sensed her and no one else. However, there was something here, something familiar, and spiritual? He thought, feeling confused.
Holding his weapon, he curiously approached her.
"No need for that." The woman said without turning around. "Put your weapon away."
"Who are you?" Malgus asked, staring at the back of her head.
"Someone from the past." She replied and then she turned around.
For a brief second, Malgus didn't know who she was, but then, he recognized her. With eyes big as saucers he stared at her like he had seen a ghost. This was the last person he thought would run into here and this greatly surprised him.
"Is this a joke or a trap?" He asked baffled, ready to ignite his weapon.
"I'm afraid neither." Satele replied looking at his wrinkled, pale face covered with a mask. Standing up, she pulled her coat aside showing him she was unarmed. While her deep blue eyes never left him, she stepped closer and said.
"Believe me, I am just as shocked as you are but there is a reason behind this."
"What reason?" Malgus inquired sizing up the Jedi who had caused so much trouble for him in the past. However, these painful memories he suppressed never to surface again for the sake of his sanity. After the betrayal of the Empire, he decided to leave and never return. He had been living on his own, moving from planet to planet unable to find his purpose or the peace he was desperately looking for. Like a parched and hungry animal, he couldn't quench his thirst or hunger to silence his troubled mind, and this was driving him mad. Then, a few months ago, he felt something within the Force. It was a peculiar sensation pulling him toward this place. A calling he would say. And now realizing what or better say who was the cause of this feeling left him puzzled more than ever. She was his enemy, they had fought on several occasions to bring their version of justice to the Galaxy and now standing face to face, he couldn't believe his eyes. She looked the same since their last encounter on Alderaan, except for a few wrinkles and her ashen hair were the only telltale signs of her age. If he remembered correctly, she was only a few years younger than him and she looked good for a 58 years old woman.
"The reason is my friend to put the past behind and look for the future." Marr's voice was heard and then his spirit appeared next to the cabin.
"You?" Malgus asked, staring at him in disbelief. "You made me come here?"
"No, Malgus." Marr replied stepping closer. "It was you who wanted to come here."
Shaking his head Malgus replied. "No, I didn't want to come here to see her." Saying that he pointed toward Satele. "Why would I want to do that?" He asked, confused.
"Faith and the Force have brought you two together." Marr replied. "You are one and the same, light and darkness of this world. This rendezvous was not a coincidence but a merely calculated move by some higher power that not even I can understand."
"So, you tell me I was brought here to listen to your nonsense?" Malgus asked with slight anger.
While the two men engaged in a rather interesting conversation, Satele curiously sized the tall Sith up.
Although his face looked older and had a long jagged scar above his left eye, his body was in an immaculate shape due to the many years of war. If this meeting took place 20 years ago, she would have loved to engage him in a fight, and that time she would have made sure he was dead, but times had changed and she was sick of fighting. What happened in the past was in the past and if Marr was right, he was no longer her enemy. However, this was not going to be easy to accept but she is going to do her best to make this work.
"Where would you go?" Marr asked. "You can't run for the rest of your life."
"I'm tired of running, that's true." Malgus replied disheartened. "But you can't expect me to stay here….with her. We would probably end up killing each other."
"That I can agree with." Satele said with a sly grin.
"Nobody is going to kill nobody." Marr said with growing impatience. "Just give it a chance and with time, you'll see that I was right."
"And where would I stay?" Malgus asked. Looking around he added. "Do you have another cabin for me?"
"I have a spare room." Satele replied with a frown. She was not happy to share this planet and now her home too with him, but deep inside she was glad to have another human being here, even though he was the last person she was looking forward to spending her time with.
Later, inside the cabin, sitting at the table, Malgus watched her grabbing two cups out of the cupboard and after filling them up with something hot that smelled delicious, she approached the table and placed one of them in front of him. Then, taking a seat on the opposite side, she lifted the mug to her lips and took a sip of her soup.
For a few uncomfortable seconds, they stared at each other. He couldn't believe he was sitting here with her. This felt surreal and wrong. He has been searching the Galaxy for years and this is the reward he was granted by the mighty Force?
"How long have you been living here with Marr?" He asked, trying to ease the tension.
"Five years and counting." She replied nonchalantly, and then took another sip.
"Why did you come here?" He inquired. This was utterly strange that a Jedi Master would just abandon the Jedi Order and the Republic to live like a hermit.
"I guess it doesn't matter anymore." Satele replied. "I came here to forget, however, your presence sadly reminds me of the past I was so desperate to leave behind."
"This is something we both can agree on." Malgus said and then he removed his mask and placed it on the table. Low, labored breathing escaped his mouth as he took a few breaths before he started to drink his soup.
Seeing his face without the mask was another reminder of the past. Although he looked old and worn, she still recognized him no matter what. The strong nose, thin wide lips, and chiseled jaw were his unique characteristics. He still looks intimidating though, she thought, gazing at him.
Putting her cup down, she asked. "Did I do this to you?"
"If I say yes, would it make you feel better?" Malgus asked between sips. The soup tasted surprisingly good. He didn't think she would have poisoned him, not after seeing her drinking her own. Quickly, he emptied the mug. "You cooked this?" He asked with a sly smile.
Pulling up one of her dark eyebrows she said. "Why? Do I look incompetent?"
Leaning closer Malgus coughed a few times and then he said.
"Oh, I know you are definitely not incompetent. By underestimating you and your boyfriend I ended up scarred for the rest of my life. However, I am so used to wearing this thing it became an inseparable part of me." Saying that he placed it back on his face. Then he asked. "Where is he now?"
Swallowing hard, Satele looked at the table and said.
"Dead."
"How unfortunate?" Malgus said with a hint of mischief. Then he added with a grin. "Now you have me."
"I'm beyond thrilled." Satele said, trying to suppress a smile. This peculiar situation was disturbing but also comical as well. She didn't know if she should get angry or laugh.
Standing up, she collected the cups and after placing them into the stainless steel sink, she said to him.
"Follow me. I'll show you your room."
Standing in the narrow hallway, Malgus looked inside the well kept but simple room and said. "Whose room is this?"
Satele didn't want to tell him about her son. It was a best-kept secret and she wanted to keep it that way. She hoped that one day he would visit her and stay here for a while. That's why she constructed a two-bedroom cabin in the hopes of having her son with her.
"No ones." She replied and then gestured for him to go inside.
Turning to her, he said.
"I know this is not something you are expecting from me to say, but I appreciate your hospitality. I know I don't deserve this, but I want you to know that I have no ill feelings toward you anymore and you don't have to worry about me...unless you provoke me."
She wanted to laugh hearing his selfish words. The only person in this room should have had any ill feelings was her alone. He had caused so much pain and suffering to many it was beyond unforgivable. However, over the years, Satele learned to forgive and forget. Still, he was the only person besides Tenebrae who could get under her skin. She hoped Marr was right and with her help, this monster can become a much better person, which could give her a well-deserved satisfaction over the Sith Empire and at the same time gaining a companion. Who would have thought that one of their best henchmen would become someone worth saving for a better purpose? She thought, looking at him.
Pulling up her eyebrows, she said. "I'm far beyond to be afraid of you or anyone else. I've been on my own for years and I can take care of myself."
"I'm glad to hear that." Malgus replied. A few seconds of awkward silence later, Satele walked to the door and after saying good night, she closed the door and approached her room.
To have him around was strange and she needed some time to get used to it.
Just in case, she thought, getting up to lock the door.
While Satele was sound asleep in her room, Malgus, on the other hand, couldn't sleep.
He still felt confused and as hard as he tried to relax he was unable to do so. Seeing Satele and Marr was not something he was expecting to see when he set foot on this planet. The most interesting thing Malgus found hard to believe was them, Sith and Jedi living here in harmony like a happily married couple. He didn't have much experience with Force ghosts, but he knew about their existence. However, he didn't know that a Sith like Marr can also be one. Malgus always thought only the Jedi were able to merge with the Force after they passed on. This he found interesting and he wanted to explore this matter further.
Then his eyes landed on a shelf beneath the window. There were shells of different shapes and sizes neatly placed on it. Some even glowed in the light of the moon. Tearing his gaze away from them, he started to remove his boots. He couldn't understand why the Force wanted him to come here. It had to be some kind of logical explanation for this nonsense, he thought, as he removed his mask and placed it on the nightstand. Reaching into his inner pocket, he pulled out a small respirator that he used for sleeping. The sleek device was strong enough to give him plenty of air but small enough to allow him to get a restful night.
He was not as young as he used to be and as he tried to get comfortable, he pulled a muscle on his left side making him growl with agony. He wished to have his younger, stronger self back, but this was life. One day he would get old and feeble and then my lightsaber would be my savior, he thought, thinking about ending his misery when the time comes. Gradually, he fell asleep dreaming about battles won and lost.
"There is no refresher here?" Malgus asked the next morning as he walked into the kitchen where Satele sat drinking a cup of water staring at him like he grew a pair of horns.
"There is an outhouse in the back." She replied with a grin eyeing his half-naked body. There were plenty of scars earned in battle old and new marking his pale skin. The most noticeable were the ones on his left arm. The deep gashes on his thick biceps looked painful, she thought. "And if you need to wash up there is a lake not far from here." She added.
Without saying a word, Malgus walked out of the house and headed toward the back.
Standing at the window and sipping her water, Satele watched as he entered the outhouse. Less than a minute later, he walked out and headed in the direction of the lake. A few seconds later, putting her cup down she picked up a towel and left the cabin.
From his spot, Marr curiously watched her disappearing into the woods.
The water felt surprisingly good, Malgus thought as he ducked beneath it and dove toward the bottom. The crystal clear lake stood untouched by humans or aliens, a true gem within the forest. After searching the bottom, he picked up a shell almost as large as his hand and quickly made his way up.
When he broke the surface his eyes met Satele's who stood at the edge of the water. He wanted to ask what she was doing here, but seeing the towel in her hand he didn't have to.
Not truly understanding why she even decided to come here, using the towel as an excuse she patiently waited for him.
Standing in the water waist-deep, Malgus asked.
"Are you shy, Satele?"
"Not that I know of, why?" She asked.
"Because I'm done with my morning bath and I'm about to get out." Malgus replied with a sly grin behind his mask.
Folding her arms in front of her chest, she said.
"I am an old Lady. There's nothing new you can show me that I haven't seen."
"Hmmm, interesting." He said with a suspicious stare and then he started to walk toward her.
As he emerged from the water, Satele tried to ignore his nakedness, but she found herself staring at him, as she had never seen a naked person before. Although he was in his early sixties, he looked remarkable, she thought, feeling the heat rising up her neck and into her face. Being alone for years and without any human interaction took a toll on her mental state. She hasn't hugged or kissed anyone in a long time and to be intimate with someone was out of the question.
Placing the shell into her hand, Malgus took the towel from her and wrapped it around his waist causing Satele to feel a little disappointed.
"How many men have you seen, Satele?" He asked with a mischievous tone sensing her awkwardness. She is all talk, he thought, looking at her face that seemed a little flushed.
"Enough." She replied regretting her decision to come here. What's wrong with me? She reprimanded herself as she quickly avoided his crimson gaze and turned her attention to the shell.
"Take this as a token of my appreciation." Malgus said. "Thank you for the towel by the way." He added as he approached his clothes and started to get dressed.
Pretty, but why would he give me this? She thought, feeling puzzled turning the shell in her hand. Unless, she thought, thinking about her little collection at home. Then she said.
"I am ready to meditate in an hour. Would you mind joining me?"
"I'm afraid I have to pass." Malgus replied as he pulled down his top. "What I want to do is to find Marr and talk to him."
"As you wish." She said and then walked away. She was sure he'd come to her, eventually.
While Satele meditated in her usual spot, Malgus called upon Marr's spirit.
"Why am I here?" Malgus asked when he appeared.
"You are here to embrace the past, learn from the present so you can live the future you wish to live." Marr replied. "Is that what you are looking for?"
"I want to find my purpose, Marr." Malgus replied. "Without a purpose I am nothing."
"I'll tell you something. Your purpose is right now to go and meditate with the woman you despised all your life." Marr said in a firm tone.
"Meditation is the Jedi way." Malgus replied with distaste. "I am no Jedi."
"You don't have to tell me that." Marr said. "She is no longer abided by their laws either, still she finds peace in meditation. I've been with her for quite some time now and let me tell you, she is someone you want to keep close."
"I'll pass on meditation." Malgus replied. Then he added. "I want to look around. Care to show me around?" He asked with a mischievous grin. If he was destined to stay here, at least he'll take advantage of the fertile land. Hunting was something he liked to do, and there was an abundance of wildlife around here he was sure of.
Shaking his head, Marr started to laugh and said. "Come, I'll show you around if this is what you wish for, and maybe tomorrow you'll meditate."
"Not on your watch." Malgus replied feeling in a better mood to having Marr around. He'd rather spend time with him than with Satele. Just thinking about her being this close made him feel strange. He didn't know what to make of this feeling, yet.
As the days went by he kept declining her offers to meditate, instead, he went on a hunting spree that he enjoyed fully. When Satele got back to the cabin, she found him in the kitchen forearms soaked in blood cutting up a skinned animal.
"What are you doing?" She asked gaping at the mess.
"What I do best." He replied concealing a wide grin behind the mask.
Running her hand down her face, she took a deep breath trying to calm herself down. It was no use if she started an argument with him, which could have led to more than just angry words. She didn't want to fight him. How strange? she thought about it. Old age definitely changes people. Still, she wanted to strangle him if he doesn't clean up after himself.
"I'll be in my room." She said as she walked across the kitchen. "Don't forget to clean up." She quipped as she closed the door behind her.
It was late at night when she got up to get a drink of water. To her surprise, the kitchen was clean and all the meat was neatly tucked inside the icebox.
"Who knew?" She murmured as she filled up her cup. She was about to return to her room when she noticed the front door ajar.
Silently, she approached the door and looked out.
Sitting on the bench next to a dying fire, using a knife, Malgus was cutting up pieces of branches making them into spears. He looked like a kid having fun, she thought, watching him.
Then she heard his voice.
"Come, sit with me."
Opening the door, Satele walked out and approached the bench.
"I see you are having fun." She said when she sat down beside him.
"When I was a child, I used to play in the Zoo where my father worked." Malgus started to say. "I used to pretend that I was a fierce hunter. Although I had no desire to hurt the animals, one day by accident I did."
"What happened?" Satele asked.
"I was punished and was not allowed to go into the Zoo until years later." He replied. "But by then I was in my early teens and didn't care much for them, let alone play around like a child with a stick like this." Saying that he held up the spear like it was a precious gift. At that moment, he looked like a different person, she thought amazed. He looked approachable.
To talk about the past and something personal like that was not something he would say to someone like her. Gradually, he was letting her in, and she needed to do the same. But not yet, she thought, disheartened. Not yet.
Putting the spear on the ground, he picked up another stick and started to work on it.
"You have a secret that you keep close to your heart." He said not taking his eyes off the stick. "Is that true?" He asked.
"Why would you think that?" She asked with a racing heart.
"I can sense it." Malgus replied. "This feeling is eating you up from the inside, slowly turning you into a different person you desperately want to avoid becoming. You are afraid, Satele. Your anger is only kept at bay by the daily meditation you seek so much." When she didn't reply, he put the stick down and looked at her.
"Sometimes you just have to let go and embrace your anger. Even if it means you lose yourself in the moment. Forget the codes and laws. They only hold you back from your true potential."
"Why are you telling me this?" She asked puzzled.
"Because you and I are not so different after all." Malgus replied. His burning gaze felt like he was looking straight into her soul making her shiver. As she was about to get up and leave, he reached out and grabbed her hand.
"Don't run away. I've been doing this for so long I forgot about who I really was." Malgus said in a soft tone. "Stay."
Satele wanted nothing more than to get away from him, away from this conversation, but he was right, she thought with a saddened face. She was also running away just like him trying to find her way in the Galaxy. Reluctantly, she sat down and stared at the glowing embers fighting back tears.
"That's okay, just let go." Malgus said as he gently patted her back.
A single tear rolled down her face followed by another and another until her tears soaked up the front of her robe. The sadness, frustration, and anger kept within her was just too much to handle. All her life, she pretended to be someone she was not. As a child, losing her mother was a huge blow, then later giving up her only child was even worse, and for what? To serve a cause that led to nothing but heartache?
"Look at me now." She cried. "I am old, alone and without a purpose. A useless no one I had become. No one would even remember me. I'll be forgotten like I never even existed."
While her shoulders shook with sorrow, Malgus wrapped his arms around her and pulled her closer. They sat there for a while, as Marr silently watched over them.
After that night things had changed between them.
Malgus started to spend more time with her, on a few occasions he even took the time to meditate with her. Satele also took part in his daily routine helping him hunt for food or just taking a stroll in the wilderness made her soul feel at ease. There was a clearing high in the mountains where they liked to go. Malgus even wanted to suggest training a few times, but every time he thought about picking up weapons he quickly dismissed the idea. Gradually he started to enjoy her company. She looked so different when she was happy, he thought at night when he lay in bed alone. They were just two individuals ravaged by war and blinded by duty that caused nothing but heartache and great disappointment. And now at old age, the ones who made them discarded them. This thought always made him angry, but he had been angry for so long he didn't know how to feel differently. His soul was consumed by anger, but not all of it, he thought with a thin smile thinking about her.
Then sudden fear enveloped him thinking about losing these wonderful times. The one thing he had learned over the years was that nothing pleasant lasted forever.
Sometimes during the night, a storm was passing over. As the droplets of water hit the roof, Malgus looked at the ceiling listening to the calming sound of the rain reminding him of his home planet Dromund Kaas. Then a huge lightning strike ripped the dark sky in half engulfing the room with its bright colors.
The sound of thunder gradually relaxed his body and mind causing Malgus to fall asleep.
It was in the middle of the night when he heard the door open.
Light as a feather, Satele made her way across the room and stopped at the edge of the bed. Without saying a word, she dropped her robe and climbed up on the bed.
"Satele?" Malgus whispered gazing at her.
Quickly she hushed him and sat on his lap.
Leaning forward she planted a soft kiss on his chest and then wrapping her arms around his neck with a nervous smile she kissed the jagged scar on his forehead.
Instinctively, he grabbed hold of her hips and dug his fingers into her flesh.
When she started to rub against him the desire like a lightning strike swept through him making him excited. Quickly he explored her beautiful body running his hands over her sides and cupping her breasts. Gently, he pinched the erect nipples making her moan with pleasure.
With an urgent desire, he picked her up and kicked the cover down to his ankles. Now there was nothing in between them just flesh on flesh.
As he slowly immersed himself between her thighs Satele let out a pleasurable cry feeling his length filling her up.
"Oh, Maker." She muttered as great pleasure enveloped her. It had been so long, she almost forgot about how good it felt. Then when she started to move her hips, Malgus desperately clutched at his respirator wanting to rip it off and kiss her enticing lips. With a sudden move, he removed it and pulled her face down to his.
His kiss was rough but sweet, she thought with excitement as her body moved up and down on his. Within a minute Malgus had no choice but to break the kiss and put the device back on. Now he wished he was healthy again, but there was nothing he could do about it.
Loud panting with endless moans enveloped the room as Satele was slowly reaching her peak. The amazing sensations rushing through her felt like a dream. Rubbing against him she picked up the pace giving her and Malgus an unforgettable night that none of them experienced in a long time. The deep throbbing sensation within her core excelled her to move faster. She yearned to feel that astonishing release, which would rock her world to the stars and back.
Feeling her body shaking like a leaf, he knew she was close to reaching her climax. Swiftly, he picked her up and rolled her beneath him. Holding onto her thighs, he picked up the pace bringing both of them to their well-deserved bliss.
Satele felt lost within the incredible feeling he gave her.
She would have never thought to couple with him would feel this sensational.
It was like somehow he knew what and how she desired, and this made their lovemaking even more excited. As his chest rubbed against her sensitive nipples and while his deep penetrating eyes never left hers, Satele felt her body was on pure fire ready to explode like a supernova.
And when she thought she couldn't take it anymore, arching her hips up, with a stunning release she reached her peak simultaneously with him.
A loud pleasurable growl left his mouth as he filled her up with his seed. Then, he started to laugh with a painful cry.
"What's wrong?" She asked worriedly.
"I think I just popped a hip." He winced while his body was still shaking from the breathtaking bliss he just experienced.
Trying to suppress a smile but wasn't able to, Satele bursts out in laughter.
"You think it's funny?" Malgus scolded her with a tired smile. Then he added. "Getting old sucks."
Pulling his face closer, she removed the respirator and pressed her lips to his. Then, putting it back she said in a hushed tone.
"We're not dead yet."
Suddenly, his expression became worried and then he asked.
"Are you happy, Satele?"
With a warm smile, she replied.
"Yes, of course. Why ask?"
"Just wanted to make sure I still got it." He said with a mischievous grin.
"Yes." She said smiling. "Can't complain."
Satele hasn't felt this happy in a long time. Although she knew what she did tonight was risky, she hoped he wouldn't turn her down. The immense yearning to be with another human being was getting to her. A hug, a kiss, those simple things she missed terribly. But now, she felt rejuvenated and satisfied and that was written all over her face.
Laying down beside her, he brushed a lock of hair out of her damp forehead and snuggled with her until she fell asleep.
Then another lightning strike brightened up the room making him smile.
For a while, he wasn't able to fall asleep. His body ached and his mind was in turmoil. What just happened between them was unexpected but very pleasant. This new life he had with her felt surreal but also gratifying. He wouldn't change it for anything. Now he understood what Marr meant to say about embracing the past, learning from the present to live a future he wished to live. This new path he decided to take turned the life he knew into something more, something wonderful he could have never imagined if he stayed on the path of destruction and death.
This was the life that was always meant for them. However, the unfortunate circumstances of the past altered this course to a different more painful future, which brought nothing but agony to both of them.
"Mistakes of the past can't touch us now." He murmured gazing at her.
As the first sunrays broke the horizon, the storm finally let on, leaving large puddles around the cabin and inside the fire pit.
Standing in the forest, with a smile, Marr watched as the front door opened and Satele wrapped in a blanket with Malgus stepped out. He didn't need to ask how their night went her radiant smile said everything.
After wiping the bench, Malgus sat down and pulled her into his lap.
"What are we going to do today?" She asked gazing into his eyes.
"First." He started to say. "We are going to enjoy the morning breeze, then I suggest we stay in bed for the rest of the day."
"I think we can arrange that." Satele replied with a mischievous grin. Pulling off his respirator, and cupping his face into her hands she kissed him. Wrapping his arms around her, Malgus returned the kiss enjoying the moment with her.
