I was flying as fast as I could, avoiding objects crashing down and the hell that was just created. I made a mental note- if I die, I'm going to kill those asshats. I felt something hit me but I tried to ignore it. Now wasn't a time to lose focus. The pain spread up my leg until it covered my entire body but I had to keep going. We got through the door just as a huge explosion went off behind us. I felt a huge loss of strength and fell off the broom before I could land it. Hermione and I were knocked off the broom and went tumbling a few meters. The pain intensified and the only way I can barely describe it as was like my insides were exploding and imploding over and over again. I guess that's what it feels like to be physically attacked by a Hororcrox.
"What was that about?" Hermione said, getting up and dusting herself off, clearly annoyed at me that she got send flying into a wall. "Maisie we made it out fine, do you not know how to land a broom all of a sudden? I mean I could've done better-"
"Shut it Hermione! I'm done with you always giving me an attitude. If you're so smart, is this really a good time to try and start something? Is it?!" I rolled onto my stomach and got up to my knees.
"Yes it is Maisie! You could've killed me!"
"Merlin Hermione you're fine! It's not my fault that you cant handle anything. We just killed a bloody Hororcrox and I feel like vomiting my insides out but let's all stop what we're doing to help Hermione! The fate of the world can wait for-"
"Knock it off the both of you!" Harry was pissed now but I could not care less. As soon as I got up, my legs gave out and I fell to the ground again. I hit my head. Hard.
"May!" I heard Harry scream from a small distance away. "What's wrong?" He ran up to me but I couldn't see what was going on in the corridor. Hell, I couldn't see much of anything all of a sudden.
"I'm-m fi-fine," I shuddered and couldn't catch my breath, "It's just from the fall I think."
"It got you didn't it? This is bad Harry." Hermione stepped away from Ron who was trying to keep her from going into hysterics. She still seemed annoyed at me for getting hurt but there was concern growing in her voice. I tried to talk but it just came out as unidentifiable murmurs. Harry kneeled down and propped me onto my back, supporting the top of my back and head up. Hermione whispered, trying to be quiest but I was just able to make out the words, "Harry, Ron- she isn't going to make it. She got hit directly with the Hororcrux. People usually die on impact from that."
"I'm sorry" I started, with a smile, but Harry cut me off.
"No May, no!"
"I love you all so much. You're my best friends. No- my family." I can only imagine that at this point Hermione began to get teary-eyed and knelt beside me with Ron. I knew it was the end, so to hell with it all. I'll be sappy in the end if I want to. Ron held my hand while I felt Harry's hands start to shake from under my back. "I'm kind of annoyed though- I really wanted my death to be cool and this is pretty lame." I laughed a little to myself before feeling all my energy leave my body.
"Good-bye..." I sighed out the last part of the word as I felt my breathing slow and my vision fade out.
Maisie Parker Atwood was born in 1980 to half-blood parents. She looked nothing like either of them, with her curly light brown hair, small spray of light freckles across her nose and cheeks, and big, kind blue eyes. Maisie didn't have the saddest childhood, nor was it the happiest.
That's not to say it was a bad life. Maisie's father, Damien, was killed by a Death Eater shortly before she was born, because he was a half-blood Healer who helped Muggles that were injured in attacks lead by Voldemort and his followers. He was only 30 years old. His death affected her, but she knew he died for something good so it didn't cause her too much pain. Her twin brother didn't live through childbirth, so Maisie's birth wasn't as joyous as it should have been, but there was nothing she could do about that.
Her mother, Charlotte, became so distraught that they left London and moved to the countryside of Southern Ireland. They were pretty remote, and lived with Damien's brother, Dale, who was a retired Curse-Breaker. Her life was simple, but she loved every minute of it. Dale was her best friend, brother, uncle, and father all rolled into one. Her mother was never the same after she lost her boys, so Maisie never got extremely close with her. She was a shy girl but was always willing to try new things and wanted to desperately to do all that she could and be the best at it.
When Maisie got her letter to Hogwarts she was overjoyed. However, her mother didn't want her to go, fearing that she could loose her daughter too and be left with nothing. Maisie heard Dale and Mum arguing one night about if she should be allowed to go to Hogwarts.
"She needs friends! She needs to socialize with other kids her age! Besides, you see how much talent she has! She can make something of herself like Damien. We can't keep her here for our happiness so she can be miserable forever!"
"She's my daughter, not yours!"
"Lottie, please. She has too go! She NEEDS this!"
Maisie got tired of hearing them argue and went into the kitchen to tell them off. "Why don't I get a say in this? I got in, I want to go, and I'm going to go whether you too want me to or not!"
"Maisie you're eleven you cannot decide this-"
"To hell I can't! If you won't take me Mum, I'll just have Dale take me! And if he won't I'll just go by myself."
Charlotte eventually complied after many nights of similar arguments for the entire summer. She waved goodbye to Maisie on the train, but deep inside of her she knew that going to Hogwarts would mean death for Maisie.
