Scorpious Malfoy always got picked on for being the son of a retired deatheater. Everyone cast him back in the shadows of his family as bad guys, leaving everyone to believe he's bad luck. That's until his only friend Albus introduces him to his cousin Rose. They say something bad comes before good, that's the moral of the story. A fluffy and angst filled Scorose story.
"I can hear you." He mumbled softly as the air brushed his short, silky blonde hair aside, revealing his piercing blue eyes.
The two girl with dark brunette hair both glared at him, "Don't talk to us you creep!"
Scorpious turned away trying to ignore their whispering. His self consciousness was getting to himself. He wrapped his arms into a cross tighter, trying to box himself in place at his table, his ears desperately trying to fend out the insults and rumours going around.
He pushed his anger down as he heard it again,
"His father tried to kill Harry Potter didn't he?"
"Yeah, He was on Voldemort's side too."
He turned to the small girl with shoulder length brown messy hair, "Alice I would appreciate if you didn't talk about me while I'm right here." He snapped hastily. Alice Longbottom just rolled her eyes before she continued her conversation with Hugo, "Definietly a deatheater."
Scorpious clutched his books against his chest as he stood quickly, wrapping his robe around him as he walked across the room quickly and sat down at a table with one other girl, who seemed to be in a deep gaze with a book. He didn't even care who it was, he just took a seat next to her and looked away, not being able to bear any type of conversation with anyone else.
Rose Weasley sat up as soon as the chair beside her moved, she was now peering at the boy with white-blonde hair, she tilted her head a little to see him.
Scorpious caught her looking at him through the corner of his eye, "You can move if you want- I just don't want to sit over...there."
Her milky brown eyes scanned his face as she brushed aside a red curl. He looked at her and frowned, he'd never seen her before. She had long red curls wich were out and flowing down her shoulders, and she had soft brown eyes in wich accompanied her brown freckles across her nose and her cheeks.
"I know who you are." She said softly. "Your Scorpious? Right? Scorpious...Malfoy."
"Yes." He said sharply as he turned away knowing what following questions would arise. Are you really a deatheater? Did your father really try to kill Harry Potter?
"I've heard a bit about you." She said.
Scorpious graced himself for the worst as he quickly ran his hands through his short blonde hair. "I don't believe it." She said.
He straightened in his seat and turned to her, his stomach fluttering in hope, but he wanted to sure. "You don't believe what?" He asked.
"I don't believe the things their saying about you." She simply stated. She took his right arm and lifted the sleeve, revealing his bare forearm, "See, your not a deatheater, I don't know why they say that." She lifted his robe sleeve on his other arm to reveal nothing. She gazed at his pale skin.
Then he spoke up, "Why don't you think of me like the rest do?" Scorpious asked.
"Because." She tilted her head more at him, "You don't look like you'd do anybody any harm. Besides. I know the truth." She said.
"What does that mean?" He asked.
"Well I'm the daughter of two in the golden trio." She stated, "I'm Rose Weasley-Granger. My mother and father- well my mother- doesn't think too badly of your father. Besides my uncle Harry saved him, so that sort of makes them friends."
Scorpious frowned, his father had never said a word about this to him. He said he never tried to kill Harry, but he never said they were friends...
"Friends?" She asked as she held her hand out.
Scorpious peered down at her half tanned skin with freckles playing about, to her soft warm looking hand. He frowned. This must be some trick, or some prank.
He looked around waiting for someone with a camera filming, or a group of people watching. But no one was around as the classroom was still merely empty. He looked from her hand to her welcoming face a few times before he turned away.
Rose frowned, "Why not?" She asked.
He kept his gaze away from her trying to ignore her.
He almost jumped as her hand rested on his arm, "I'm not like the others- you'd know my cousin? Right? Albus?"
Scorpious turned to her. That's why she was being so nice.
Albus.
"Yes I know Albus." He said, removing his arm from underneath her hand. She frowned, "So why don't you trust me?" She asked.
Scorpious was then riddled with his past and his life growing up, his father had never told him to trust people like her, and he'd grown up in a world of wich people backstabbed and continuously lied. He glanced at her.
She was still looking at him, a hopefull tint on her eyes. He looked down at her Griffindore tie. Why would a Griffindore, and a Weasley want to be friends with a Slytherin Malfoy?
She glanced at the hand she'd held out earlier, "You don't have to be friends if you don't want to. Just know I'm not your enemy." Rose said glumly. Rose had never trusted someone so easily, but coming from her mothers trust and love towards family, she knew that any friend of Albus's was a friend of hers.
Speaking of so, moments later Albus sat walked in followed by a few more students.
He frowned at Rose. "Hello." He said vaguely. "The teachers late." He said at the two before he walked to the other side of the room. "Why doesn't he sit with you if your friends?" Rose asked.
"Because he doesn't want to be made fun of." Scorpious replies, now remembering the main reason he pushed people away. "Before the teacher gets here you should move." It pained him, having someone to talk to was nice company, but once the rumours spread and she becomes part of them, she wouldn't want to be his friend anyway.
"No, I like this spot. Out of the sun." She said referring to the bright windows.
"Rose you should move trust me-"
"No." She said, she turned to him with a very Hermione look giving her stubborn face in proof that she was in fact not going to move no matter what he said. "I'm not going to let you sit alone. You sit alone in every class."
"Okay." He immediately gave up.
Suddenly a small paper bird landed infront of the two on the desk. Rose reached out to take it but Scorpious had flickered his wand quickly making it rip into a million pieces in a small pile.
She frowned. "Trust me you don't want to read that." He said.
Then another one landed by her side on the chair and she looked up at Scorpious and their eyes met. He gave her a 'dont' look but she ignored him and opened the small origami bird. Once unfolded she read the scribbled writing in ink.
'Corky got a girlfriend?'
She looked up and saw a group of girls including Alice snickering. Scorpious just rested his face in his hands. "I told you that you should move."
But Rose just turned to him, "No it's fine."
She pulled out her books as the professor walked in and greeted the class before setting up a series of questions on the board. Scorpious watched amazed as he set his book down on the table she muttered, "Finished."
"All ten of them?" He asked. The curly haired girl nodded as she brushed a curl aside. "There's a pattern you see you just add the resulting number to the measurements-"
Another small paper crane landed on their desk. "Rose leave it-" she shot him a 'watch' look as she unfolded it. 'Cute couple.'
Rose turned to Alice who was laughing with her friends before Rose smile and mouthed, 'thanks.'
"She was insulting you- you don't just say thanks-"
"Kill them with kindness, it always leaves them shocked." Rose said softly. Scorpious looked up an indeed, Alice was sitting there frowning at the girl.
He just nodded and went back to his work.
He glanced at her in the corner of his eyes.
He glanced at her again. What the heck.
Why did her hair look so nice? His eyes traced the small curls down her shoulders, and then back up to her brown eyes concentrating on her work. For some reason he admired the angry, rough look on her face when she was solving a question.
Then another small paper bird landed on their desk. Again Rose snatched it up before he could, she glared at the girls across the dim classroom before he unfolded it.
'Daddy wouldn't approve would he?'
Rose looked up at them before she ripped the paper in half and flicked her wand watching as it disinagrated.
Scorpious was about to compliment her on how easily she ignored the insults but then he saw the hurt look in her eyes. Now they were starting to get to her. "Just don't read them. Please." He pleaded. She nodded, and she didn't read them, as soon as one would come her way she would flick her wand and it would catch a flame and turn into ash.
But still an hour later when class had finished, Alice caught up to them on their way to Care For Magical Creatures. "Don't get too close Rose- you'll become his fathers next victim!"
Rose turned to Alice and went to take a step forward, but a hand grabbed her arm. "Rose what happened to kill them with kindness?" He asked half scared of the angry look she had on her face. "Forget kindness she's going too far." Rose snapped as she wiggles out of his arms and ran to catch up to the girl.
She grabbed Alice's shoulder and turned her around. "Oww What are you doing-"
"You know you'd be a lot nicer if that hole in your head called a mouth was kept shut." Rose snapped.
She almost jumped as she heard several. "Ooooooh!"s and cheers from around her. She only noticed now that they were standing by another class outside a classroom. Alice took a step back from her out of her reach, he face was red now, embarrassed. "Just warning you Rose he's dangerous." She smirked.
Rose took a step forward, "Thanks for the warning but I don't think you want to know who the real dangerous one is."
She gave Alice a small shove.
Alice was pushed back and her two brunet friends gasped at her, and so did the class near them.
Alice dropped her book bag before she stepped forward and pushed Rose back harder, causing her feet to get tangled and making her fall to the ground. Alice stood over her like a royal would a peasant and she mumbled, "Remeber where you belong half-blood." She snapped.
Rose felt like crying with the pain in her back from hitting the ground. By now Scorpious just stood a meter away from the conversation not knowing what to do, but at the same time knowing that it was her fault for getting into this mess.
Rose looked down at her hand as she tried to get off the ground but winced, she'd hurt her wrist. Then she remembered something. She remembered the story her mother told her about how she punched a boy when she was in third year and told Rose that she'd probably have a good punch when she got older. If her mother was strong enough in third year and Rose was in sixth year... she put two and two together and stood up, to Alice's surprise.
"I don't need to remeber where I belong." Rose muttered softly.
"What was that half-blood?" Alice asked, a sneer playing along her face.
"I don't need to remember where I belong." Rose said louder. She noticed how suddenly the corridor had gone quiet and Rose realised they were late to class, but at this point she didn't care. "I don't actually know where I belong." She said as she took a step forward and stood a few inches in front of Alice.
"One thing I do know is that I don't belong anywhere beneath you. Because your at the very bottom." Rose smiled. Alice frowned, "Is that it?" She chuckled.
"No, net even done yet." Rose said as she brought her fist back and closed her eyes and she brought it forward only hearing one reassured sound that told her she hit the right spot.
Crack!
All she remembered was grabbing Scorpious's arm and running, running all the way to class, just making it in at the back of the line and into the classroom, racing to the back where they were left panting.
"R- rose...why...would you...do that...for me?" He asked as he gasped or air.
"Because...were friends right?" She asked.
Scorpious smiled before he held out his hand, "Definetly." Rose smiled as she shook it.
Hello! That's the end of the chapter. I don't think I've changed the characters personality too much- I mean the latest book, the cursed child, did actually explain the characters like a book as it was the script- so I'm sort of making up the characters. Scorpious is more the carefree calm, stay out of trouble person but usually puts his walls up and blocks most people out after growing up in such a dark place.
Rose however I thought would be better if she took on her mother's smartness and wrecklessness, but also her fathers careless attitude towards things. Anyway, please leave a review if you like this and I should start a series and give me some feedback for the next chapter.
