Draco was packing his bag for Hogwarts. He knew he still had 2 weeks till school started again for his 5th year, but thinking about going made a good distraction. He already had all his books, all his clothes, all his possessions packed. His room stood around him, the epitome of everything he hated. At Hogwarts, he had a proper room. It didn't matter that he had to share it at Hogwarts. He got to share it with male people. It was a male room. Because he was a man. No matter what anyone said.

"Draciana! My daughter! Come down stairs this instant! Your father and I have something we wish the discus!"

Shit.

It was his mother. Draco froze. Ever since he decided to transition, she had been a total bitch. She never stopped insisting he was a girl. She just kept on rubbing it in his face. Her every sentence was built upon a foundation of 'Draciana. My daughter. Who is a girl. And will marry a man. Because she is female.' The only thing she was correct about was that he would marry a man. Though he was too scared to tell her so.

As he arrived downstairs and sat Infront of his parents at the great table, his mother let out a scream.

"What in Merlin's name are you wearing?"

Honestly, thought Draco, It's only a beenie. Or maybe the jeans and hoodie combo was what upset her. He even wondered if it was the rainbow Doc's he had on. He didn't really care.

"Anyway Draciana, your father and I have received information that you have been sleeping in the boys' dormitory. I would like you to confirm that this is not true. Once you do, this whole mess will be cleaned up, and I can write to Dumbledore to tell him to place your bags in the girls' dormitory. We don't want people to think that you aren't a virtuous young lady now do we?"

Draco realized that he was well and truly fucked. The only reason he was in the boys' dormitory was because he looked like a boy. The only reason why everyone at school thought he was a boy was because he looked like one. God, if anyone looked like a boy, it was Draco. Because he was. Inside. And he worked so hard to pass. I mean, Dumbledore knew, sure. But Draco told him he was a boy. So Draco was a boy in Dumbledore's eyes. But if his parents... If they made school recognise him as a girl... there's a reason why no-one at Hogwarts was 'out and proud'. Probably because if they were, they would have their proud transgender head kicked in. Poor Colin. Nice kid as well. Shame he only lived to see his first year in Griffindoor.

Draco's parents said Colin didn't matter because he was a mood blood. But he did matter. Draco thought about him every day. Colin's parents made a huge fuss when Hogwarts reported their son was petrified. Kid had only just left the hospital ward when some other boys beat the shit out of him, and hid him behind a wall. They found him there dead. Draco found him there dead. The word 'Tranny' was cut allover his broken body. His faithful camera gone. His eyes gone. His mutilated body throw carelessly behind a wall.

Draco didn't want that to happen to anyone. Especially not himself. There was no way he could let his mother tell everyone.

After his mother finished talking, Draco answered her questions and fled to his room. He grabbed a quill, parchment, an envelope and began to write.

Professor Dumbledore,

My mother wishes to change Hogwarts' recognition of my gender. However, I do not wish for the same. I would be infinity great full if you refused her request, and continued to refer to me as male.

Yours sincerely,

Draco Malfoy

He called over his owl, Terminator, and instructed it to travel Hogwarts at top speed. His owl was trained to be fast. He knew his mother's was not. As he watched it fly away, he knew his would reach Dumbledore first. The only regret he had was using pink parchment and ink in his haste. He would have to remember to tell the house elves to stop listening to his mother's instructions regarding his belongings. What kind of mother switches their son's ink for girly pink shit?

The suddenly, there was a knock at the window.
