I don't own Ladybug or any of it's characters. It belongs to Thomas Astruc.

Enjoy the story!

Emma always loved Heroes' Day, she would remember being with her parents while the floats past by them, hoping to get a glimpse of the miraculous heroes of Paris. The times may have passed, but there are some things will never change.

Like how her brothers always argued early in the morning.

"Can't you control him!? You're getting flour all over the floor!" An angry dark blue haired young man shouted in anger. He was wearing an apron over his normal clothes and

"Come on, Hugo! Pecan and I are just having fun!" The ten year old brunette pouted, he was covered in flour holding a small light brown hamster.

"Louis, I'll help you clean up before the parade." An older woman with streaks of grey in her dark blue hair calmly approached the two boys. Louis stuck his tongue out at his older brother while being guided away from the fuming young man.

"Tom, could you help Hugo with the flour?" She addressed the older but larger man who was working on an elaborate cake.

"Of course, honey." Tom noticed Emma walking down the stairs, all dressed up with a red polka dot dress with black leggings and flats.

"Look at you, Emma! You've grown into a fine young woman, if only your mother.." Tom started to sniffle.

"Grandpa, it's just a small outing with my friends before going to see the parade.*" Emma tried to calm down her over exaggerated grandfather.

"I know, but...I still see my little girl." Suddenly she was pulled into a tight bear like hug by her grandpa.

"Oh Hugo, do you have those cupcakes ready yet?" Emma gently pushed away from her grandpa who started to sweep up the flour with a broom

"Got them all set for you." Hugo pulled out a box with cupcakes all specialized in the signature colors of different heroes. From the Rena Rouge's vibrant orange, the shell green of Carapace, Viperion's teal, the black of Chat Noir, to the red of Ladybug, it made Emma smile.

"These look amazing! They're all going to love this!" She gleefully grabbed the box and pecked Hugo on the check.

"It's why I'm one of the best bakers in Paris."

"You hurt me, Huey. Did you forget who the master is?" Tom pretended to use the broom as a kung-fu stick only to almost end up falling over on his side.

"That's why I said one of best bakers, I didn't forget about you or grandma." Hugo laughed.

Emma left the bakery with the box of cupcakes in her hands, she could see people dressed up in all different clothes and costumes. It wasn't just little kids who took part but adults as well, entire families took part in it. Emma saw a young girl dressed like Ladybug atop her father's shoulders, it reminded her of one Heroes' Day a long time ago.

"Higher! Daddy! I can't see them!" A five year old Emma was sat in her father's arms. She wore a Ladybug costume with her blonde hair in pigtails, an eight year old Hugo nervously stood by his mother's side, he held his mother's hand tightly through his gloved hand of his Chat Noir costume.

"Alright, little princess." Her father placed her on his shoulders so she could see the floats.

"I can see them! I can see Ladybug and Chat Noir!"

In those days, Emma truly believed they were the real deal, but now she knew the Ladybug and Chat Noir on the float were actors, charlatans meant to give hope. No one had seen the real heroes for years. No one knows where they went or if they were still alive, all anyone knew was that they disappeared right after the final battle with Hawk Moth.

"Em!" Before the blonde could turn around, she was pulled into a hug by her best friend. She was a dark skinned redhead with thin framed glasses, she wore a red crop top with polka dots, black leggings and red sneakers.

"Carmen! I got the cupcakes for the picnic." The two of them walked over to a group of kids crowding around a blanket, sitting under a tree.

"Oh, girl, you are a life saver!" Carmen cheered, "I thought we would have to eat nothing but Ariel's awful crackers and hummus the entire time."

"Hey! My hummus was not awful!" Ariel was like the little mermaid with her bright red hair pulled into a low ponytail. Like her parents, she had an athletic build to her due to being a competitive swimmer. Though she was under a lot of pressure with her mother being an Olympic gold medal swimmer, she kept her humbleness with her father as her coach.

"Sorry, babe, but statistically, anything from Dupain-Cheng's bakery is better than that." A tan skinned young woman stated while barely looking up from her tablet.

"Ohhh! They're so cute!" A petite black haired girl picked up one of the red cupcakes as she said this, "Right, Niko?"

The near identical boy next to her nodded, he wore a hoodie with cat ears that covered most of his face except for his periwinkle blue eyes. Ivy and Niko Lavillant-Couffaine were twins, they were identical in appearance, but their personalities were far from the same. Ivy was a sweet and cheerful while Niko was quiet and shy. Their mothers were famous for different reasons, Rose's world wide children's charities and Juleka being apart of Kitty Section, a famous band that would have concert tickets sold out in less than a few hours.

"They're almost too cute to eat...almost." A red haired young man took a bite out one of the orange ones. His green eyes almost caused Emma's heart to skip a beat, she always felt like that around Noah Anciel-Kurtzberg. Emma fidgeted nervously beside Carmen while the redhead ate the cupcake.

"I see you still have a crush on tomato head over there." Carmen whispered, Emma's face started to turn just as red as Noah's locks.

"Y-yeah, I just don't know when to tell him."

"If you need help with your crush, just call me and I can arrange a romantic meeting in the park straight out of one of my dad's films." Carmen winked.

Emma sat beside her friends as they talked and laughed together, she had no idea of the miraculous forces that would soon change her life as well as her siblings.

She barely had time to react when an explosion shook the streets of Paris.

Several blocks away, a familiar red and black heroine kept her distance on top of a building, waiting to make her entrance. After all she was the star of the show, the main lead, the director promised her that. She let her dress her up with the pigtails and the earrings, all she needed to do was play the part of the hero, be Paris's protector while her accomplice played the villain. She had trained her entire life to this moment, it was her time to shine in the spotlight. Paris was now her stage and it was time for her debut.

"Ready, Coccinelle?" A distorted voice cracked through her comm disguised as a headband.

"Ready, Monarch." She grabbed the yo-yo attached to her hip and swung herself to the street where the explosion took place.

Act 1 begins now.
