Miklan held out the Lance of Ruin, smirking down at his latest catch. He wasn't surprised at how easy it was to steal. His father had always underestimated him. He looked away from the lance to see his comrades celebrating madly. He leaned against the tree he was sitting next to and looked up to the sky. He knew that his father was going to get the Knights of Seiros involved with this. He could never do anything on his own, so obviously he was going to get the best help that money could buy to get this back. Although Miklan wasn't really worried over that. In fact, he was feeling excited about the challenge. He and his men had already made a plan to move to an abandoned fortress and wait for the knights there. He didn't see any point in running when he could make his strength obvious and to deter any future attacks. Surely the Church was smart enough to give up when he beats what's probably the best of their knights.

This was going to be fun.

Sylvain looked down at his desk. The professor had just got done explaining to the class what their mission was for this month and it sent a chill down his spine. According to the professor, his older brother Miklan had actually stolen the Lance of Ruin. He thought he was finally done with Miklan the moment he was disowned, but apparently not.

Why did it have to be his class that had to take care of him? Was the goddess amused with the way Miklan had tormented him growing up? Did his father specifically ask for him and his class? Was Lady Rhea testing his loyalty to the church by forcing him to fight the brother who had always wanted him dead?

The rest of the class had actually passed by before he had even realized it. He had only just noticed when someone had bumped into his chair on their way out. He turned around to see Felix.

"Hey, idiot. I'm going to train, do you wanna join me?" Felix asked.

Sylvain smiled softly. He had known Felix long enough to know that this was his way of saying 'Hey, do you want to talk?'

"Not today, Felix. Sorry. I think I'm going to just head to my room for now. See you at dinner." Sylvain waved before making his way out of the classroom.

This was going to be a long month.
