Welcome to the final part of my fanfiction mini-trilogy, The Dark Mistress, part of my Origin Series and my Long Series. :)
This time, we're bridging the gap between this fanfic and my Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings crossover fanfic, The Search for Horcruxes. While this fanfic is a part of my Origin Series, it really helps to explain how my OFC Melena wound up in the Alternate Wizardry World, where Frodo Baggins is a hobbit wizard. Don't worry. Melena's still a part of this fanfic series. This is just the origin story for Melena for my fanfic, The Search for Horcruxes. :)
That said, enjoy! :)

Sauron hated losing. He lost the battle with the Last Alliance of Men and Elves, and lost his chance with re-gaining the One Ring. Now, he was facing his most difficult dilemma. He obviously couldn't stay in Middle-earth and be stuck as a spirit. That was not part of his plan.
Wait a minute! Just what was going on here? He searched the Ring-bearer's mind, finding something rather interesting. So many lives the Ring-bearer was living in, in different universes no less. Surely, Sauron could intrude on one of them. Nah! He'd leave the one where Frodo Baggins left the Shire at age five alone. There was no sense in barging into that mixed up family tree!
No! Ah! Here was something! A failsafe so he could return alive. One where Frodo was a hobbit wizard. It was perfect! Nothing could foil his brilliant plan now! And here, at the Crack of Doom where he searched Frodo's heart… no! He couldn't barge into Frodo's heart! What sort of resistance did this hobbit have against him? Only the hobbit's mind was broken, not his will or his spirit. What sort of nonsense was this?
Well, it was time for Sauron to test this hobbit and see how powerful he truly was! As the One Ring was destroyed, Sauron had a great idea. Welp, it was time to explore the hobbit wizards' alternate universe and work on a new strategy to come back alive… again.
Yes, there goes the One Ring, disappearing into the lava from where it was created. Followed by an explosion at Barad-dûr. The entire tower was destroyed! Oh well… Sauron's spirit moved from the blast zone to a portal in the air. Time to explore the Alternate Wizardry World and hope for the best.
Nothing could stand in his way now. Nothing.
