Chapter 1: Old Wounds Resurface

A lone figure is walking through Lakeview Gardens Park, he makes his way to one of the water fountains, he then attaches something to the fountain before making a timely departure.
Roughly two hours later, the park is in total chaos.
Ravensburg Police Officer Laura Kane, under orders from Police Chief Susan Bishop has formally requested the FBI's help with this case.
Supervisory Special Agent Aaron Hotchner was enjoying a much needed and deserved day off that he was spending with his son, Jack and his wife, Beth.
Hotch was busy making a ham and cheese sandwich for Jack, when Beth comes into the kitchen and hands him the phone.
"Hotchner."
Thirty minutes later, Hotch strode into the BAU's bullpen, greeting his team as he entered.
"JJ, Emily, my office."
The two women follow their leader into his office.
"There is something going on in Ravensburg, Illinois, we've been called in to investigate..."
Emily could sense that there was more coming.
"We have too many cases for all of us to go to Ravensburg, so, I'm sending the two of you."
After briefing Prentiss and JJ, the two female Agents and Hotch rejoin the others in the bullpen.
Elsewhere,
Jill Valentine and Rebecca Chambers were snapping the cuffs on a pair of terrorists who tried to shoot down a commercial airliner with a pair of rocket launchers, Chris and John watched watched with pride as Jill and Rebecca made their collars, once the male and female suspects were in FBI custody Jill and Rebecca returned to Chris and the others.
When Jill, Rebecca, and the others got back to Headquarters, Sheva pulled Jill and Rebecca to the side and explained their next mission, which is in Ravensburg, Illinois, for both former STARS members and survivors of the Raccoon City T and G virus incidents that destroyed the peaceful mountain community all those years ago.
Hearing this awakens memories of those horrible nights.
"As of right now, we do not know who or what caused this outbreak, so for now your mission is to go in and contain the virus as best you can and apprehend them...or kill them." Sheva explains to Jill and Rebecca, who both nod in understanding.
"When do we leave, Sheva?" asked Rebecca.
"In two days, on Wednesday." the African woman replied.
