A/N: Just a quick story I thought about. To everyone waiting for The Impossible and Decisions and Complications, don't fret. Though I might take a little longer for the latter. I hope you enjoy this.
He saw the hope leave her eyes as the fiery sensation ran through his chest but he could ignore it because there she was. Beautiful. Alive. It was all worth it. Kili was just happy that he made it on time to save her, even at the cost of his own life. This was one thing he wouldn't regret. Oh, but he knew that this would be the last time that he would see that gorgeous face and that made a tear run down his face. His vision began to lose focus as the darkness began to consume him. His heart. It was bleeding for her. If only he could feel the warmth of her skin. One last time.
Her heart felt like it had been pierced along with Kili's as she held his body in her arms. Her whole world felt like it was falling apart and this heavy, burning feeling in her chest refused to leave her alone. She pulled him closer and sunk her face into his chest, longing to feel him breathe for just a moment. Although her tears would gently glide on her face, she felt like she could cry an endless stream. This love had died before it was given a chance to grow. Tauriel held his head and softly caressed his cheek. Those beautiful adventurous eyes that she had grown to love, that smile that filled her heart with joy... they would never return again.
She felt guilty. As if his death was her fault and at that moment, she wished that she could have taken his place.
Her heart. It was bleeding for him. If this was love felt like, she didn't want it.
