"Yeah-ha!" A high pitched voice could be heard in the alley way. Out came Vanellope in her green car. She was still new to Slaughter Race, but she knew her way around a bit. She was a talented driver and the players knew to keep her distance from her. Like Shank, the players feared her, even though she was just a small candy princess, she really knew how to drive. Vanellope raced down the street, Shank close to her side. They were chasing the games top player who stole an item that cost $20,000 and they weren't going to let him get away. The small girl had heard many stories about "purplecat06" but she had never once crossed paths with him. That is until today. Vanellope looked up to see a purple car with cat ears and the player inside had a cat mask so no one could see his face. "Is that purplecat?" She said dodging a bomb that the player threw.

"Sure is V!" Shank said, "and he's the guy we're after! But be careful, purple cat is full of surprises!" With that she sped up and was right on the players tail. Vanellope looked up to see the perfect way to stop this guy. She turned and then broke through the wall. She giggled to herself as the sped through the highway short cut to the exit of the game. Through the glass she could see Shank and purplecat. Shank had given his car a beating, but that wasn't going to stop him. Vanellope saw her chance then busted out of the wall and landed in front of him and turned around and smirked.

"What the!" Purplecat yelled, "get out of my way kid!" He said throwing something past Vanellope.

"Vanellope, watch out!" She heard Shank say. Vanellope turned around to see a bomb. She swerved out of the way right in time but she lost control of her car. She screamed as her car flipped through the air then crashed into a window. The window shattered all over her.

Meanwhile Shank continued to chase the player without knowing what happened to her small friend. This purplecat could really drive, but Shank knew just how to stop him. She looked up to see the exit not far in the distance. She pulled out her gun and shot all four tired of purplecat's car and watched as the car spun off and then crashed into a wall, eliminating the player. Shank stopped right in front of the broken car then grabbed the keys he stole out of the driver's seat and stuffed them in her pocket. She made her. Way back to the garage.

When she arrived she found Felony, Butcher Boy, Pyro, and Dan all cleaning up from the attack earlier. She looked around but noticed Vanellope was missing.

"Hey, has anyone seen V?" She said over the edge of the platform. The four all looked up.

"I thought she went with you?" Felony said putting down her broom.

"She did, but she went off course and I thought that she'd come back to be with you guys." They all hopped in their cars and followed Shank to where she last saw her. They all split up and yelled her name but there was no response.

"Shank!" Butcher Boy yelled, "Hurry! We found her!" Shank ran towards them and the sound of screaming and crying grew louder. She turned the corner to nearly pass out from the fight. The group had managed to get the girl out of her car but she was pleading all over her right side from the glass that impaled her skin. Shank slid to her knees and looked at the girl which Pyro had to hold back.

"Shank, it's her back. It's broken! And her shoulder is out of socket." He said frantically.

"Call Ralph, hurry!"

*30 minutes later*

The group had managed to calm Vanellope down. Ralph showed up with Felix and Calhoun.

"what happened?" Ralph said with tears in his eyes.

"she crashed," Shank said in a panicked voice. "Her back is broken and her shoulder is dislocated. The glass wounds are deep and we need to get her back to the garage. Ralph carefully picked up the girl with his large hands causing the girl to cry out again. Once they got to the garage, Vanellope was crying frantically. They lied her down onto a. Working bench as Butcher Boy and Pyro ran to get supplies to get the glass out of her side. They returned to watch Felony shove her shoulder back in socket. Vanellope let out a gut-wrenching scream then they lied her back down. Shank looked up as Butcher Boy and Pyro gave her the look of 'you-might-want-to-leave-for-this' then Ralph and Shank left. They could hear her crying and sobbing.

"Why is she reacting this way?" Shank said looking up at Ralph.

"in Sugar Rush, right before the racers would crash, the game would recognize that. Because the game didn't want them to have scratches and bruises all over them for the next game, the game would teleport them out before they could get hurt. Vanellope has never felt physical pain before and her body doesn't know how to react." Ralph explained. Shank cringed as another scream was heard. "Vanellope has gone through too much emotional pain.

Shank looked up, "what do you mean."

"In her old game when it was first put in the arcade, Vanellope's character was the princess of sugar rush and everyone loved her. The other racing game, 'turbo tastic' shut down and turbo made his way to Sugar rush. When he arrived, he erased Vanellope's character from the game. Everyone forgot about her and bullied her for being a 'glitch.' She lived on the run for 15 years… alone." Ralph finished. Shank didn't know what to say… no wonder why Vanellope was such a trooper. Felix and "Tammy" sat in the corner holding hands. Vanellope was like a daughter to them. After what seemed like forever the screaming stopped. Butcher Boy and Pyro came out with tears and sweat covering their faces.

"How is she?" Ralph said standing up.

"I don't know why she isn't regenerating…" Pyro said quietly.

"What?! You mean she's dead!" Ralph yelled.

"No, no. In Slaughter Race, when a character gets beat up bad, usually once the injures are tended, they go away. But that's not happening with V." Butcher boy said crossing his arms.

"B-but she'll be ok?" Felix said standing up, "won't she?"

"We're hoping so. She's resting right now and you might want to give her some time before visiting her."
