FILM

At a clearing near the edge of the forest, it's peacefulness was suddenly interrupted by an explosion. And a nearby monkey screeches loudly as then suddenly a military man brought out his assault rifle and starts firing.

Nearby, an explosion sends a few man flying back as another military man hidden in the plants fired as 1 man drops to the ground after being shot. Both groups fired at each other as 1 member quickly rushed off and flees crossing a stream. But an explosion knocks him off his feet from behind.

Some military men on the side of a stream continue firing as they started to retreat.

Over at a military base, indistinct shouting was heard as members moved around.

July 1992

Motaba River Valley, Zaire. Mercenary Camp.

1 member rushed over and enters a hut with buckets as inside with dozens of beds with members that are injured. And the member tends to one placing a wet cloth on his forehead.

Approaching the base as an explosion was triggered at a field outside of the base. A military Bell 206 helicopter nears the base and descends down and lands on the ground.

Then 2 men in containment suits climbed out of the helicopter.

"Come this way." Said a man named Benjamin.

They followed him.

In the hut, the members on the beds looked very sick as 1 of them showed strange white spots on his face.

"Men wounded in battle we can deal with." Benjamin explained. "But this strange disease.. 30 men dead yesterday."

The 2 members followed Benjamin looking at the sick members.

"18, the day before." Benjamin continued. "We need supplies. Plasma. Pencillin."

"We'll get you everything you need, doctor." Said one of them.

"You're Americans." A voice said.

They turned to one of the sick members.

"Please, get me out of this shithole." He begged.

"Hey, buddy, that's what we're here for." The figure said. "We're gonna take you home." He nears him with a needle. "But first we're gonna tale a little blood sample, alright?"

"I'm gonna die, right?" He said.

"No, you're not gonna die." The masked figure tried to reassured.

"Tell my girl I love her." The sick member said.

"I am not gonna tell her. You're gonna tell her yourself, alright?" He starts extracting a blood sample from his arm.

Soon, they followed Benjamin through the base as they looked back momentarily hearing an explosion.

"The soldiers inside are in the early stages of the disease." Benjamin explained. " By tomorrow night they will look like this." They near a pile of bodies who were victims of the unknown disease.

Benjamin pulls back a cloth as the 2 men were likely shocked of what they were seeing behind their masks.

"Mother of God." The figure said completely shocked. "I'll authorize an immediate airdrop, doctor."

Before long, they boarded back on the Bell 206.

"It's even worse than I thought." The figure said to his partner. "Get the plane here by 1900 hours."

"Well, shouldn't we at least-" His partner tried to reason.

"Get the plane, Billy."

Soon the helicopter takes off into the air and leaves the base.

Later that day, everyone at the base was cheering as they rushed out as a military plane flies towards the base.

"They're coming! They're here!"

Soon, the plane deploys out a package with a parachute as it slowly descends to the ground.

But then, Benjamin noticed something off about the package. It was a round, cylinder-shape.

The object soon touches the ground, but then suddenly a blinding light appeared with a large explosion taking out the entire base and killing everyone.

A few miles away, the plane flies off as the explosion was in view.

All that was left of the base was the burnt structures of the huts, and a wall of flames.

Nearby, a group of 4 of White-Headed Capuchins hurried across a branch to get away from the flames.

OUTBREAK

Author's Note:

This story has been in mind for a while. And this Coronavirus that's been going on kinda reminds of Outbreak. And it almost feels like a reality version, though without the monkey.
