A Detective turned Phantom Thief.
Recently got into binge watching Milky Holmes and this crossover won't leave my head, so I figure I'd throw out an idea/challenge for people to look over and hopefully get those creative juices flowing.
But first, Info on the settings.
Milky Holmes:
Milky Holmes is a near future world where certain people have superpowers called 'Toys', essentially specialized psychic/magic powers such as freezing a spot or manifesting fire or illusions. Those who have 'Toys' are sorted into Detectives, basically heroes, and heroes, villains or anti-heroes depending on the circumstances. Toys, the superpowers of the series, have been around for a long time dating back to Victorian England, since Sherlock Holmes had a Toy himself, and ancient Egypt potentially. [Think magic version of MHA's Quirks]
Toys CAN disappear, possible after head injury or more eccentric methods such as special sealing jars, Toys can also go berserk if certain conditions are met. Toys can also be pushed pass their limits for a short time, telekinesis being used to freeze everything non living in a certain area, machine control gaining the ability to dis and reassemble machines or upgrading them and illusions becoming real. This section can be ignored mostly for the purpose of the crossover if the author wishes.
In addition to the few superpowered individuals/bloodlines there is also a supernatural side to the setting when the main characters of the series, the detective team Milky Holmes, were possessed by their ancestors to help MH clear their names from attempted murder charge.
And speaking of Milky Holmes, the team is made up of:
Sherlock Shellingford: Descendant of Sherlock Holmes and the hopeful protagonist of the series. Her Toy is telekinesis.
Nero Yuzurizaki: Descendant of Nero Wolfe and the tomboy protagonist of the series. Her Toy is machines control, able to disassemble and reassemble machines to make them bigger or into something else.
Hercule Burton: Descendant of Hercule Poirot and the shy protagonist of the series. Her Toy is superhuman strength, able to use a construction equipment as a baseball bat if she wanted to easily.
Cordelia Glauca: Descendant of Cordelia Gray and the 'Elder Sister' protagonist of the series. Her Toy is enhancing her senses to be able to do things such hearing faints things or seeing the movements of a trained swordsman.
And for those curious, Sherlock and Nero are 15 while Hercule is 16 with Cordelia the oldest at 17.
PERSONA 5:
Persona 5, on the other hand, is a setting closer to our own with only a few years ahead of our own [something like 3 to 4 years at most].
However unlike our world, hopefully, Humanity's collective unconscious tends to have rogue gods doing something that would spell the end of the world. Usually a team of Persona users, Personas being the manifestation of a person's psyche with it's form shaped by myth and legends, come around to save the world every couple of years or so. Maybe months between ending the last threat.
The current team of Persona Users is the Phantom Thieves of Heart, who steal the corrupted Hearts of people by challenging them in Palaces created by their extremely warped perception of the World or in a collective shared Palace known as Mementos. When the Phantom Thieves defeats a Person's Shadow, their suppressed selves/negative aspects, in these Palaces they bring about a change of Heart. Which mostly amounts to giving them a conscious, broadly speaking.
Now, onto the crossover.
The main lead of the crossover would be Opera Kobayashi, a Great Detective who has been solving crimes since he was at least in middle school and mentor to Milky Holmes, is investigating a case that lead him getting too close to the cause of the Mental Shutdowns [seen in Persona 5] and is kidnapped and thrown into the Metaverse to be killed by the Shadows while a Doppelganger takes his clothes before flying back to England. A week later reports come through that Opera Kobayashi was murdered while protecting a woman and child from a mugger. While in truth Opera Kobayashi would still be alive but in the care of the Phantom Thieves after they found him fleeing Shadows in his underwear, he joins them as a new Persona User acting under the code name Sleuth.
Milky Holmes would be informed of their teacher's passing before it would be announce to everyone, the girls would take his passing hard and enter a depressive slump. The girls are invited to the private funeral of their teacher/friend/love interest if you want go that angle.
During the funeral, being attended by various Milky Holmes characters and a number of OCs including the one behind Opera's 'murder'. The whole thing is interrupted when the Phantom Thieves of Heart announce that they will steal heart of the people behind Opera's attempted murder before including the message "Opera still lives" and knocking over the coffin with the fake body inside.
Milky Holmes is quick to believe the Phantom Thieves of Heart, a sentiment not shared by many others due to the battles between Detectives and Phantom Thieves on top of generally being frowned upon, the girls don't care since if the Phantom Thieves are right that means Opera is still a live.
Fast Forward a while and the people who tried to murder Opera with the Metaverse tries it again with Milky Holmes only this time they Phantom Thieves of Heart were able to cross paths with the villains and defeated them.
Milky Holmes is overjoyed that Opera is still alive but conflicted on him staying under the radar as a Phantom Thief.
The Cadt of Persona 4 could potentially make an appearance as Detectives themselves along with the Shadow Operatives/Persona 3 Cast.
Pairings: None in mind and open for the author to decide. Though if your going for Opera Milky Harem, [Opera Kobayashi x Sherlock Shellingford x Nero Yuzurizaki x Hercule Burton x Cordelia Glauca] then please have a moment where Cordelia has a moment with her daydreaming about how taboo it all is. ["Taboo, Doublt Taboo, Triple Taboo, So Good Taboo!"]
You can include the stuff that both series have crossed over in the past so long as it isn't too intrusive.
