A/N: I was originally going to wait before I started writing another fanfiction but it has seemed that my muses have decided that I was supposed to start writing another fanfiction right after I had finished writing my fanfiction that was based on the soap opera Days of Our Lives. Normally whenever I have finished writing a particular fanfiction I would find myself taking a short break so that I could at least make some form of an attempt to get my ideas straight so that the next fanfiction would at least start to make a bit of sense which is something that I always try to do during the entire time that I am writing about a particular fandom.
I would like to take this opportunity, however, to thank those people who had given me the chance that I had needed in order to write my fanfiction that had been based on the characters from Days of Our Lives. I had never expected that fanfiction to end up being 18 chapters long and about 150 pages when I had first started writing it. Under normal circumstances I would only be writing a fanfiction that is about 10 to 12 chapters long but it has seemed that there were certain circumstances that had led to the fanfiction having more chapters than I was honestly used to writing and I have so many people to thank for that since they had all helped me in very many ways when it came to writing that fanfiction. Now that I have finished that fanfiction, however, I have made the decision to write another fanfiction that will be based on characters from a completely different fandom.
During the time that you are reading this particular fanfiction I would like you to remember a few things so that you will honestly know where I stand on certain subjects or certain things. One thing I would like you to remember is that I do not own the characters that you are going to find within the pages of this fanfiction. Even though I have created one particular character for this fanfiction the other characters belong to the creators of the series Law and Order SVU. The character that I have created for the use of this fanfiction is a young girl named Kylee who starts out in the story running away from foster home after foster home because of the terrible things that have happened in her life. She will eventually find herself being adopted by Amanda Rollins and Olivia Benson who throughout this fanfiction will be dating despite the rules that IAB had about officers dating and spending their time together outside of the time that they were working together.
Another thing that I would like people to think about while they are reading this fanfiction is that there are people out there that write things quite a bit differently than others and they deserve to have the same respect as so many other writers that are out there in the world no matter what fandom or fandoms they happen to be writing about during that time. There have been people out there who seem to think that if you are writing about a certain fandom that you are supposed to keep everything exactly the same and that you cannot change anything even if it is something that might make the story a bit more interesting. As far as these people are concerned you cannot add characters or change the way that certain things had happened and still consider the story a fanfiction and because of those reasons they take it upon themselves to treat other writers badly by sending the most hurtful comments and even some have gone to the point of using cyber bullying which has been made punishable by law in many places around the world. There has been times when I would be reading a fanfiction and you would see the most negative comments to the point where the person that was writing those comments would tell that writer that their fanfiction was so bad that they should just kill themselves. Comments of that nature just are not right and yet the people that are running certain sites for publishing these fanfictions are permitting these comments and people to stay on these sites when it is obvious that they are bullying others. It is often people like that who do not really understand that there are different reasons that people are writing their fanfictions in the way that they do and seem to think that they should be permitted to treat others badly. I have learned rather quickly that if you are going to use your comments to treat people badly that you are going to find that people are eventually going to be doing those very same things to you and I guarantee that you are going to find yourself complaining about these things and yet you are seeing things differently when you are doing these exact same things to the people who are writing fanfictions that you do not particularly like for whatever reason. Something that you should honestly think about whenever you are leaving these comments is whether you would want that same person to read something that you would have been writing during that time and making you feel just as badly about something that you had written as you are making that person feel because you are not considering the fact that you have the choice as to whether you continue reading that fanfiction or not. It is for that reason that I am asking people to keep their negativity out of the comments for any fanfictions that I am writing and remember that you always have a choice when it comes to the fanfictions that you are reading and if someone writes something that you do not particularly like for whatever reason then you simply stop reading that particular fanfiction and let the person continue telling their story so that if there are people out there that are really enjoying the story that this particular person happens to be telling then the story is not ruined for them simply because you want to be a hater and spread your negativity to the point where other people are being hurt.
I will leave you with this final thought before I start writing the fanfiction that I am planning on writing. We were all raised in different families and in different homes but I am very sure that one thing has remained the same no matter how or where we were raised throughout the entire time that we were growing up. I am sure that at some point or another there was someone out there in our families that had told us that if we could not say something nice then we shouldn't say anything at all. Even though there are certain times that this saying speaks the truth and certain times when it doesn't I am going to ask that people think of this saying whenever they are getting ready to post a comment on this fanfiction and on any other fanfiction that I have written no matter how recent that fanfiction might be. If you cannot say something nice about the fanfiction that is currently being written the please keep your negative comments to yourself and don't say anything at all about the fanfiction that is being written. For those of you that honestly do have something nice to say about the fanfiction that is being written then feel free to leave your comments and let me know that this fanfiction is something that you are thouroughly enjoying. Thank you for your time and patience and again thank you for taking the time to read this fanfiction

The young girl could already tell that it was only going to be a matter of time before someone had taken the opportunity to call the police and make a report that she had run away from another foster home in just a short amount of time. In the past 7 years Kylee had found herself being put in different foster homes and each one had turned out to be worse than the one that she had left during the previous months that she had been there. Kylee had known that sooner or later there would be someone coming to search for her and yet again she would find herself either returning to the foster home that she had just left during that time or she would end up being put in a group home where she would have to wait for a social worker to come talk to her in order to find out about the real reason that she had run away yet again.
Kylee had known the reason that she had been bounced from one foster home after another and yet it had seemed that each one had been just as bad as the others. After she had run away from each foster home Kylee had found herself wandering through the streets of New York City doing everything that she could in order to get the things that she had needed in order to survive. She had known that the city streets had not been the best place for her to be, especially after everything that she had been through long before she had been placed in her first foster home.
The day that Kylee had found out that she was being placed in foster care had been the worst day of her life. She had been coming home from a friend's house who had been having a sleepover in order to celebrate what was supposed to be her seventh birthday. Kylee had hoped that her parents would permit her to go to the sleepover at her friend's house, especially since there had been so many things happening at home that had ended up with Kylee feeling extremely worried about her mother and the things that had been taking place. For as long as Kylee had been able to remember it had seemed that her father had been someone that had been a rather important teacher at one of the local high schools. Kylee had gotten used to the fact that her father would eventually end up being one of her teachers by the time that she had started attending that high school, but there had been a few other things that had been happening that had caused Kylee to be extremely worried despite the fact that she had only been about seven years old at the time. The one thing that Kylee's father had never stopped to think about at the time was that there was ever going to be that possibility that he could end up losing his job and that would eventually be when all of the trouble had officially started.
Throughout the entire time that Kylee had been attending the local elementary school, her mother had been working at the local diner and had often had those times when she had ended up having to work rather late which was always something that would end up with Kylee's father becoming rather angry. Alexander Shepherd may have been a teacher during that time but it was often the things that he had been doing during the weekends. Alexander had often spent his weekends with his friends and you could always tell that he had been spending his time drinking throughout that entire time. Even though Alexander was hardly ever willing to let Kylee's mother spend time with her own friends and yet every time that you turned around he was going to spend time with the neighbors or one of his closest and dearest friends who had always turned out to want to spend their time drinking and doing all kinds of drugs.
Whenever these things had been taking place Kylee had always found herself feeling rather scared because there was absolutely no way to know what kind of condition her father would be coming home in, especially during the times that he had been spending time with all of his had known that Alexander had been friends with a group of people who were more interested in doing drugs and partying than they were anything else throughout the entire weekend that her father would be off for the weekend. As far as Alexander's friends were concerned Alexander was the only one that they could eventually count on when it came to getting certain things that they were often using on the weekends that they would be spending their time partying. Kylee was not sure just what his friends were going to say when the truth came out and her father had ended up losing his job because of the things that had been taking place. Deep down Kylee knew that something like that was going to be happening and that when it did there was definitely going to be a number of changes that would be taking place whether Kylee had wanted them to happen or not.
That Friday when Kylee had been getting ready to go to her friend's house for the sleepover that she was going to be having there had been something telling her that something was seriously wrong. Her mother kept insisting that everything was just fine and that all she had wanted was for Kylee to have a bit of fun for the first time in a while, but Kylee could just feel that if she had left her mother was going to be in some very serious danger. Alexander had been sitting in the kitchen that morning acting like he was looking through the paper since they had recently learned that one of his students had caused him to lose his teaching job with the accusations that they had been making about his drinking. From the moment that Kylee and her mother had found out about Alexander losing his teaching job it had seemed that her mother, Andrea, had been working longer hours at the diner so that they would have the money that they had needed in order to pay the bills and make sure that they had enough food to last them throughout the entire month.
While Andrea had been spending the majority of her time working, Alexander was supposed to be spending his time searching for a new job since there had been enough trouble with his previous job to keep him from teaching at another school. Most of the schools that had been in the neighborhood where Kylee was living with her parents had made it quite clear that until Alexander had faced the charges that had been brought up against him that he would no longer be allowed to teach at any school which had definitely been something that had upset both of Kylee's parents. Andrea would have never admitted it during that time but the fact that Alexander had lost his job was something that was quite upsetting mainly because of the fact that she had known that Alexander's weekend habits would someday end up costing him the job that he had claimed that he had loved.
Throughout the entire time that Kylee was preparing to go to the sleepover it was becoming more and more obvious that there had been other things that she was wanting to do, but Andrea kept telling her that this was the one time that she would be allowed to have some fun away from her parents and not have to worry about what would be happening if and when her mother had ended up coming home later than usual. Alexander had not realized that Andrea would be working late that night and when he found out about everything that was when trouble was going to be starting, especially since Alexander would be coming home very drunk from the partying he had been doing throughout the day when he was supposed to be searching for a new job the way he had promised Kylee and Andrea that he would eventually be doing.
By the time Kylee had gotten home on Saturday morning the damage had already been done and Kylee would find herself dealing with not just the death of one parent but also dealing with the fact that her father had killed himself after he had realized what he had done. Kylee had absolutely no idea that anything had happened until her best friend and her mother had been getting ready to bring her home. Everyone had known that Andrea was supposed to be picking Kylee after the party but she still had not shown up by dinnertime on Saturday which had Kylee becoming extremely worried that something had happened that had caused her mother to forget about the things that she was supposed to be doing. When Kylee had gotten home that evening the first thing that she had noticed was the fact that there had been a bunch of police cars all around the house where she had been living with her parents. Right from the moment that Kylee had seen the police cars she had known that there was something seriously wrong and nobody had been willing to tell her anything during that entire time. Kylee would only find out about her parents when a pretty brunette officer had told her that she was going to have to go to her first group home until they could figure out exactly what else they could do with her since neither of her parents would be able to be there for her throughout the rest of the time that she was growing up.
Ever since these things had taken place it had seemed that Kylee had been spending quite a bit of her time running away from one foster home after another. Kylee had known that it would be rather difficult for anybody to prove that the reason that Kylee had been doing some of these things had been because of the fact that her parents were unable to be a part of her life. All of these foster homes that she had been running away from had ended up being the worst part of her life, even when she had found herself able to trust someone that had been at these foster homes there had always ended up being something that had caused Kylee to run away yet again because of the mountains of things that had ended up happening throughout that entire time. Each time that she had run away from one foster home after another Kylee had found herself being put in a group home until another foster home could be found for her or she would find herself being brought back to the foster home that she had run away from regardless of what the reason happened to be during that time. Now that there had been an open case about the deaths of her parents Kylee was going to have to think about the things that she would be dealing with if she had continued to run away from these foster homes only to find out that the police were not exactly going to allow her to live her life the way that she was seeing fit even at such a young age.
