I used to always tell people that when I grew up I wanted to be just like my daddy. Now he's the last person I'd wannna be. My names Annabeth Chase and my life's a actual living hell.

When I was 9 years old my mom, dad and I were in a car accident. My mom died on the scene. My dad survived but I was in a coma for 2 weeks. I also got this hella cool scar on my leg. Sometimes I tell people a shark bit me.

Anyway, by the time I turned 10 my father turned to alcohol and drugs to cope with his loss. I of course went through the same the he did but in a much more complicated way. I turned to self harm and eating disorders. Let's just say being me 6 years ago wasn't a good thing.

Then by the age 11 my dad turned into a abusive alchoalic who only cared about sex and beating the living hell out of me. Well, and alcohol and drugs of course.

Ever since I've been dealing with scars from broken beer bottles, broken noses, bruises head to toe and other things along those lines.

Now I'm 16. My life isn't the best but I try. I know someday I'll get out of here. I have hope that I'll make it out alive.

No one knows about my dad. Everyone just thinks I live a happy life because I'm popular. Hell, I don't even know how I'm popular. I guess I got a good set of friends.

Crap. I have to leave in 10 minutes. I try to leave extra early so my dad doesn't make me clean his feet or something again. Yes that's happend, yes I've refused but it ended with me and a broken arm.

I threw my hair into a messy ponytail, put some mascara on and ran out the door as fast as I could. I had to make the bus. I ran as fast as I could then realized my watch was 10 minutes early.

"Slow your role bitchy itchy," someone said from behind me.

I smirked. "Shut the hell up beauty queen I'm just trying to not miss my bus again."

She smiled at me. "You miss the bus once and your absent from school 2 days. What's up with that?"

I shrugged. "Got sick. I think? I can't remember it was over a year ago."

Piper smirked. "Also I hate the name beauty queen, I think everyone should just call me by my name. Piper."

I rolled my eyes. "No ones gonna call you that, especially now that Leo's back."

Leo Valdez. He's one of my best friends. We actually dated before but let's not talk about that. Fun fact: a lot of people in my friend group are either related, dated, or dating someone in the friend group.

Leo got in trouble for starting a food fight and was suspended for 2 weeks. Funniest thing ever. You had to be there.

"Ah, great. I hope he still doesn't like me."

I chuckled. "Nah, he moves on quicky. I'd know. Plus I think he has a thing for Hazel now."

Piper smiled. "I called it! Thalia owes me 10 bucks."

"Mhm. I still think you and Jason are gonna end up dating."

Piper glared at me. "I would never date one of my best friends siblings."

I rolled my eyes. "Oh be quiet Thalia ships it also."

"Blah blah blah blah. Be quiet. Jason doesn't like me, I don't like him."

I winked. "That's what they all say."

I looked up and the bus was here. Thank god.

"Well, I still ship you and Leo."

"Just shut up."

She started to laugh.

After a very bumpy ride we got to school. I have a love hate relationship with school. It gets me away from my dad, I love learning, I love my friends. But I just hate it.

Piper and I were talking at her locker when Jason and Frank walked up to us.

"Hey Annabeth, pipes," Jason said.

I smiled. "Hey. Where's Thalia?"

Jason shrugged. "Like I know I'm not her babysitter."

Piper blushed. She totally likes him.

"I hate school. Does anyone have test answers for the Spanish test," Frank asked.

Just as he asked his Spanish teacher walked past him. "Frank! Meet me in my room, now."

"Oh fuck. I hate life," he said as he followed his teacher.

I couldn't help but laugh. Imagine taking spanish and imagine trying to cheating on a test.

Meanwhile Rachel comes flying over to me.

"ANNABETHHHH!"

"Ahhh, what?"

"There's a new hot guy!"

I raised a eyebrow. "Why are you telling me this? You know Silena loves the hot guy gossip and stuff."

"Well yeah, but she's with Charlie and your well, your lonely."

"Thanks Rachel, love you too."

"I think you guys should date."

Piper laughed. "Have you even talked to him?"

I turned around. "Piper keep flirting with Jason I'm gonna deal with Rachel this time."

Pipers face got so red that she looked like a actual tomato. Huh, so did Jason's.

"Not funny. We're not flirting."

"Yeah were totally not!"

I rolled my eyes. Lovebirds.

"No I uh haven't exactly talked to him but we got to snatch him."

"Uh why? He's just a guy."

Rachel rolled his eyes. "A hot guy!"

Jason frowned. "Did he make contact with Drew yet?"

Drew. Ew, just thinking about her makes me wanna barf. She's that one really preppy popular girl who no one actually likes. She's only popular because she'll hookup with anyone and everyone's scared of her. Not to mention her and a certain someone's sex tape got spread around school.

"Let's hope not," Rachel said.

The bell rang and we all said our goodbyes. Jason and I walked together to first period. Jason, Leo, Hazel and I all have math first period together.

I sat down and smiled at Hazel. "I heard about you and Frank. I'm so happy for you."

She smiled back at me. "Thanks."

Leo looked at us and came closer. "Oooh. Girl talk? What's the topic."

"Leo go sit down."

"Uh, no. Thanks for the offer though Annie."

"Don't call me Annie bitch."

"Annabeth, language," Hazel said, trying not to smile.

"Oh sorry I forgot Hazels innocent."

"Well I have a boyfriend. Does that still make me innocent?"

"Yes."

"Wait, Hazel has a boyfriend?" Leo chimed in.

Poor Leo. I know he really likes Hazel. I've just always seen Hazel and Frank together. Not Leo and Hazel. Plus I think calypso and Leo would make a good couple.

"Students, shimmer down. We have a new student. Introduce yourself youngling."

"Uh yeah okay. So hi I'm Percy Jackson and I'm new. Can I sit now?"

Everyone laughed a little.

Holy shit this must be the guy Rachel was talking about. Dang she wasn't wrong he is kinda hot. More cute then hot though. His eyes are beautiful.

Woah. What am I thinking?

Percy looked around the room and his eyes landed on me for several seconds before taking the only empty seat in the classroom. Next to me.

"Is it just me or is this teacher kinda crazy?"

I laughed. "You'll get used to her. She's known to be a little uh, I don't really know how to word it."

He smiled. "I'm Percy."

"I know."

He rolled his eyes. "Your not even gonna introduce yourself? Wow how rude."

I laughed but before I could say anything Leo interrupted.

"My names the hot flaming Valdez and I'll make all your dreams and wishes come true," he said with a wink.

Percy leaned in and whispered in my ear. "Is he gay?"

Just like that I couldn't keep it in. I started laughing.

"Wha, what are you laughing at," Leo asked.

Percy chuckled and looked at Leo. "Nothing, nothing at all.

"Oh yeah, I'm Jason by the way," Jason said to Percy.

Percy smiled. "You look Familiar. I just don't know where I've seen you before though."

"Weird, same."

They both looked at eachother weirdly.

"Oh yes, I almost forgot," I said. "This is Hazel and well I'm Annabeth."

"Oh so now you'll introduce yourself."

"Oh be quiet."

"WANNA SIT WITH US AT LUNCH? WE CAN START A FOOD FIGHT!"

"VALDEZ NO SCREAMING! OFFICE! NOWW!!" Screamed the math teacher.

"Damn it, not again. Whatever. See you losers at lunch. Also Percy your sitting with us. End of conversation," Leo said as he got up and left the room.

Percy shrugged. "Sure. I have no friends anyway."

"Well now you do," Hazel smiled.

Percy smiled back and looked back at Jason. "Are you sure we haven't met somewhere?"

Jason looked at him again. "No idea."

Percy shrugged.

"Question: who the heck comes to a new school on a Friday?"

"Me."

"I know, but why?" I asked.

He looked down at his hands. "I don't wanna talk about it."

"Okay then..."

after math it turns out Percy and I have the same schedule except for several classes.

During lunch i thought Rachel was going to pass out. Hell I thought Drew was gonna pass out. Percy was sitting next to me and Jason. Him and Jason seem to be getting along pretty well.

"Let me introduce you to the gang," Jason said.

"That's piper, Katie, Travis, Hazel, Frank, Rachel, Calypso, Thalia, Annabeth, Silena, Charlie, Connor, and Clarisse. Also you know Leo obviously."

"Hi, I'm Percy."

"Thalia and I are siblings, Hazel is our half sister. Hazel and Frank are dating. Silena and Charlie are dating. Travis and Connor are brothers. Oh yeah and Leo has it bad for Annabeth."

"Oh be quiet Jason that was 8 months ago."

Thalia snorted. "But you dated him 7 months ago."

"THALIA!" I screeched.

"I ship," Percy said behind his lunchbox.

"Say one more word and I'll send your ass to hell and back."

"Oohhh watch out Percy Annabeth gets scary."

Percy smirked. "Word."

Connor and Travis gasped. "Oh no!" Travis said sarcastically. "She's gonna kill him!"

I rolled my eyes and threw my apple at Travis. "Shush. Nerd."

Percy smiled.

"So Jackson," Clarisse said. "Where you from."

"A place."

She rolled her eyes. "Where's that?"

"Up your butt."

Silena giggled. "Boom roasted."

"That's not how a roast goes, Silena," Piper said.

"Same thing."

"Not really."

Clarisse glared at him. "I don't like you."

"And? I like me."

Thalia laughed. "Clarisse stop flirting with the new kid. Chris might get jealous."

Clarisse glared at her.

"So, can all of you make the sleepover tonight?" Silena asked. "I know Charlie can." She smiled at her boyfriend.

"Thalia and I can."

"I can speak for myself dimwit," she said, hitting Jason in the head.

"I can go," Piper said.

" I can't I have work," Clarisse said.

"Same," Rachel said.

"Annabeth?" Silena said.

I looked at her. Shit. I'd have to sneak out.

"Uh, maybe. Depends."

"How about you Percy?" She asked. "Wanna come?"

He smiled. "I'd love to!"

"Niceeee," Travis said. "Newbie is in."

"I can go," Hazel said.

"So everyone can go except Clarisse and Rachel?"

I frowned. I've snuck out many times before. This isn't very different. Let's just hope my dad doesn't realize again.

Last time I snuck out he caught me and beat me till my ass was purple. Let's just say I've never done that again. I'll risk it tonight. Who cares if I ruin my perfect attendance this year due to some bruises and cuts.

"I can go," I said, smiling.

Silena giggled. "Yes!"

Percy looked at me. "See you there?"

I smirked back. "You bet your ass I'll be there."
