Lucy could not believe it, they won.
Following Zeref's death and the defeat of Acnologia most of the Alvarez Empire's troops had surrendered to the Kingdom of Fiore.
It made sense considering that Zeref, the Emperor of Alvarez had died and almost half of the Spriggan 12 had also passed away during the war meaning the Empire simply did not have enough power to continue the war.
For the members of Fairy Tail, that meant celebrating the only way they knew how: drinking, eating and having a brawl that would destroy most things in the guildhall.
Lucy simply smiled at the current brawl that saw Natsu, Gray and Gajeel all fighting each other over something probably stupid with Erza trying to intervene but only making things a lot worse.
She looked around the guildhall seeing: Levy lovingly staring at the Iron Dragon Slayer, Juvia swooning over her beloved 'Gray-Sama' and Master Makarov simply being calm with a serene smile on his face.
It had been so long since the entire guild had been like this, after what happened with Tartaros she thought that Fairy Tail would never be reunited.
Quickly she found thoughts drifting from the party to a certain mage with pink hair. Natsu had always been one of her closest friends, hell the fire mage was the reason she was a Fairy Tail wizard in the first place but throughout the years she could feel that their relationship had gotten deeper.
Though she had always denied, she could finally admit to herself (& Juvia since she would stop calling her 'love rival') that she was in love Natsu.
Meanwhile Natsu had gotten out of that brawl between him, Gray and Gajeel. He did not why they had started fighting though it was probably something that Gray had said that set him off, however the threat of Erza beating them up had quickly dispersed their brawl.
He wandered over that guild's bar where he found Lucy all by herself.
Everytime he looked at her he was reminded of the first time he met her in the port of Hargeon. He didn't expect to bring home a new guild member.
But he wouldn't trade it for anything else in the entire world
Lucy was special to him, everytime he felt down or distressed it always seemed like Lucy was there to comfort him. He knew that the both of them had a special relationship, but he couldn't force himself to face the truth.
Everyone always assumed that Natsu did not get romance or love. He understood it but he just did not care about it.
Until he met Lucy and his whole world changed.
He looked at the beautiful blond Celestial Wizard and knew for a fact that he was in love probably since the first time he saw her.
"Hey Luce, how is it hanging?" Natsu asked when he reached the bar.
"Pretty good just trying to savor the moment." She replied.
Natsu nodded and turned to Mira to order a Fire Whiskey, a signature drink he had always ordered at the bar.
'Hey Natsu" Lucy said getting his attention.
"Yeah Luce." He replied.
"Promise me, that no matter what happens that you will always be there for me."
Natsu looked at his beautiful partner, those big brown eyes and that blonde hair that made her just so damn pretty and quickly wrapped her In an embrace of warmth and affection.
"Don't worry Lucy, I promise that you and I will always be together no matter what." He said with the most emotion her could muster with the both of them knowing it's a promise that can never be broken.
