Hey guys! This is my first Harry Potter fanfiction ever. Hope you like it.
It was a dark and gloomy night. The inhabitants of Godric's Hollow were all asleep. Like a snake, he slithered over the gravel path to his destination - the house of the Potters. He opened the door with a flourish. Voldemort turned to see James instructing the red-headed witch saying, "Just take them and go Lils. Keep Harry safe. I'll try and fight him off. I love you Lily, no matter what, I always will." Lily merely nodded for she feared she would start sobbing. He snorted at the pitiful display. With two clearly enunciated words, James Potter lay dead at his feet before he could even fire a single spell.
Flying up the stairs, he went into the nursery. Lily Evans Potter was standing in front of her children like a pitiful human shield, arms spread out wide and was shrieking and sobbing and begging him to spare their lives. He commanded her to step aside thrice, assuring her that he was here only for her daughter, Harmony. He could feel his temper starting to rise as the mudblood refused to budge from her position. Still, he remembered Severus' request and restrained himself from just Avada Kedavraing her. Voldemort instead fired a quick Stupefy and proceeded to make his way to little Harmonia Lily Potter's crib.
He was shocked to see the unhealthy amount of pink and white that decorated her crib, along with the stuffed bunnies and miniature Quidditch equipment. Voldemort raised his wand, pointing it to Harmonia's jugular vein and spoke two words that was sure to change his life - "Avada Kedavra". There were a very few things in the world that shocked the Dark Lord himself, but the phenomenon that followed was one such memorable event.
The killing curse had no effect on the young child! Instead she was laughing. The sheer power and strength inside her was so great that the spell doubled on Voldemort and reduced him to a pile of ashes. The roof caved in and the walls crumbled on the three members in the room. A chunk of the roof fell on Harry's forehead, giving him a scar and a mild concussion. Harmonia was exhausted by her display of accidental magic and fell asleep. That night gave her a special lightning bolt shaped scar on her neck.
The next day, the entire wizarding world was celebrating the defeat of the greatest Dark Wizard in history. At every home across the country, a sombre toast was raised to the brave Gryffindor, James Potter, who died protecting his family and to his son, Harry Potter, who everyone thought defeated the Dark Lord.
James' remains was buried and his funeral services was attended by almost every witch and wizard in Britain. Albus Dumbledore gave a heartfelt speech saying, " I have no words to describe my sorrow on the account of the death of James Charlus Potter. We will forever be in debt of the sacrifice he made for us, he and all the others who died at the hands of Voldemort and his Death Eaters. This day marks the birth of our saviour, Harry Potter, the Boy-Who-Lived, who destroyed Voldemort. But I fear that one day he will return. Till then we shall live without fear and in the life debt of the Potters. I strongly believe that all of these unfortunate events are all for the greater good. And now I cease my chatter with a few words - May all the souls of the ones deceased rest in peace."
There was a light applause for this speech and a few sobs from the crowd. Lily Potter was one of those who was incessantly sobbing along with McGonagall, Dumbledore and a few others. There were a lot of condolences received by her crying form.
After the service had ended, the Order of the Pheonix had assembled together one last time. This meeting was slightly subdued than the previous ones. Dumbledore said a few words on the fact that the Order would be disbanding etc. and also had a private conversation with the recently widowed Lily.
Casting a "Muffliato", he began to say, "Lily my girl, there have been dark and gloomy times in the past, but not any longer now thanks to young Harry. You must protect him at all costs. He must not face any distractions in his training henceforth. That is why I suggest you should send your younger daughter to your sister's house, to live with her until she comes to Hogwarts."
But Lily did not want her Harmony to go to her awful sister's home. She countered, "No Albus. She will not go there. Ever. You don't know the kind of horrid beast Petunia is."
"Now, now, my dear child, you know that this is for the greater good." When she opened her mouth to speak, Dumbledore raised up a hand to silence her and continued, "Very well then. Since you are unyielding to this request of mine, I shall advise you to send her when she is at least 4 or 5 years old. She may then understand her purpose for living there."
Lily realized she would not get out of this conversation without consenting to do what Dumbledore said. She gave a small nod and simply walked away, and went to speak to Molly Weasley.
I will be posting the next chapter the next Wednesday! Stay tuned
