five years after spooky island
the gang was currently in a limo driving them to the grand opening of the new criminology exhibit at the liones museum, which had an entire section dedicated to them and the mysteries they've solved. Also in the limo with them were their significant others and their children. Ban and Jerichos five year old son hector, Gowther and Nadja's five year old daughter Glariza, who was named after her late grandmother, Diane and Howzers Three year old son Nolan, and King and Helbrams surrogate Marilyn, she was currently five months along, the baby's biological father was King but it'd be Kings and Helbrams nonetheless. Everyone was dressed formally, including the children and hawk, the latter simply had a bowtie. "I still can't believe we're getting a museum exhibit." King said. "Well who wouldn't want costumes from our past escapades." Ban said. "I'm excited to see how much everyone will flip out once we get there." Diane said. Gowther then responded with "well we're gonna find out In about 30 seconds." Hawk asked "how do I look?" "Like the snazziest pig this side of the equator." Ban answered, and everyone laughed, except for the children, hector was currently 'flirting' with glariza and Nolan was simply giggling at his friend. The limo pulled to a stop and everyone prepared to get out. The chauffeur opened the door and ban, Jericho and hector went out first. The crowd started screaming and cheering and the paparazzi took pictures as the others came out. They started walking down a red carpet laid out for them and a group of Bans fans went up to him and he gave each of them a signed picture of the gang, much to their delight. Dianes fans went to her and she signed some of their clothes, with some proclaiming they'd never wash that piece of clothing again. Gowther signed his fans copies of his bestsellers 'night of the ghoul' and 'the creatures from northern Wyoming', they cheered in thanks. King gave his fans each a bag of hawk snacks, which they consumed in glee. Hawks fans, which consisted of mostly other talking animals, got high fives via hoofs and ears, earning cheers. One reporter asked the gang "can I trouble you for a few minutes of your time?" "Of course." Ban answered. The reporter turned to his cameraman and said into the mic "Jordan Matthews, reporting live from the grand opening of the new criminology exhibit at liones museum, I'm here with the stars of tonight's show: liones's very own mystery inc., along with their partners and children." They all waved to the camera, and Jordan asked them "now probably the biggest question of your fans, how do you maintain healthy relationships with your partners with the kind of career you have?" Jericho answered "We go with them when they travel abroad." Nadja followed up with "yeah we stay in hotels, and sometimes the kids bunk with hawk in the boar hat." Jericho then said "yeah he's pretty good with them." Behind her hawk smiled with pride. Then howzer said "it's actually pretty fun, seeing the world with the people we love." Helbram said "not to mention we've pretty much grown closer as a family." After a few more questions Jordan asked one more before the doors opened "with all your success will you still have time for us in liones." Ban answered "liones can solve its own problems, but we'll always be here to help."
inside the exhibit Jordan asked the gang "care to tell us about the exhibit?" "Of course, mystery inc. is happy to donate the costumes of people we've unmasked, like the slaughterhouse ghost, our very first case." Ban said as he gestured to a statue wearing the aforementioned costume. "The Black Knight ghost." Diane said and gestured to it. "The 10,000 volt ghost." Gowther said and gestured. "The skeleton men." King said and gestured. "And not to mention, the pterodactyl ghost." Hawk said and gestured. Gowther said "And we've also donated some more ridiculous disguises, like chickenstein." King whispered to hawk, Helbram, and Marilyn "ridiculous? he tried to pluck me." Then he and hawk stopped dead in their tracks when they got close to the pterodactyl ghost. Helbram kissed kings cheek, king looked to him and Helbram gave him a reassuring look. Marilyn scratched hawk behind the ear and whispered to him "remember, it's just a costume." Helbram and Marilyn walked away to look around and king said "they're right, I mean when they're empty they look completely-" the pterodactyl ghost 'costume' blinked. King and hawk backed away slowly with horrified expressions. Meanwhile Gowther was with Nadja and Glariza looking at the costumes when Gowther heard a familiar voice say "hello Gowther." He froze and hesitantly turned around, his fears were proven when he saw him. "Hey Slader." Gowther replied with a smile plastered on his face, doing his best to hide his disdain. Nadja asked "sweetie who's this?" Gowther answered "oh this is Slader, he's the curador del museo, I mean curator of the museum." Gowther hadn't meant to slip back to Spanish, he and his father emigrated from Mexico after his mother died, when he was about five years old. He didn't speak Spanish unless he was speaking to his father, someone who also spoke Spanish, alone, or like now when he was nervous. "Well it's nice to meet you Slader." Nadja said. "Likewise, you must be gowthers girlfriend." "Yeah and this is our daughter Glariza." Glariza waved to him and then pointed to the captain cutler costume and asked her parents "Daddy, Mommy who's that one?" Nadja and Glariza went to it and Gowther followed them, but Slader took his hand and said "hey Gowther, Stephen King is on a book tour and he's gonna be here next week, I was thinking maybe you wanted to go?" Damnit he remembered that Stephen King was his favorite author. "You mean like a.." Gowther said hesitantly. "Like a.. date." Slader finished for him. Gowthers eyes widened and he quickly said "I better catch up to Nadja and Glariza, see you Slader." He walked away.
suddenly there was thunder and the lights went out, causing confusion. Then lightning struck a window, making it shatter. The gang held their families and each other tight while looking around, frightened. Hawk then saw that green mist was coming from behind some curtains, he went towards them and when he opened them, the pterodactyl ghost screeched. It broke its glass enclosure sending hawk back and everyone scrambled to get out. After their partners, children, and Marilyn were out of there ban said "we need a plan." "Hide?" King suggested. Everyone looked at him with a 'are you serious right now' face. King then said "are you not seeing that!?" The pterodactyl ghost then snatched the black knight ghost costume. Gowther looked around and said "Diane, Ban, get the curtains, King, Hawk, grab those ropes." Diane and Ban wrapped the curtains around the pterodactyl ghost, Gowther then shouted "use the ropes to tie it up!" King and Hawk did what they were told while telling themselves 'it's just a costume'. "We tied it, you can let go!" King said. Ban and Diane let go, then the ropes fell and the curtains opened. The pterodactyl ghost screeched again, picked up the black knight ghost costume, and flew away with a rope tied to one of its feet. Hawk then flew away with it, somehow he managed to tie the rope around his ear. "Hawk!!" The gang screamed in horror as they ran after him. Hawk screamed as he flew across the refreshments table, when he saw fire from stoves he jumped on a metal bowl to protect himself, then he went up again. "Mystery incorporated! This is just the first step on the path of your demise!" A masked man shouted from the broken window, as the gang stopped and looked at him. Hawk continued to fly through the air, crashing into and knocking over costumes as he did. When he crashed into one a bow and arrow flew up. Gowther saw it and grabbed them. "This time, you'll be unmasked, for the imbeciles you really are!" The masked man shouted as the pterodactyl ghost stole the 10,000 volt ghost costume. Gowther aimed the arrow, pulled it back, and shot at the rope carrying hawk. It snapped and hawk fell into the creeper costume. The masked man grabbed the rope and flew away with the pterodactyl ghost, laughing.
king was sitting with hawk while the police secured the scene, Diane and Ban were talking with the police and Jordan reported. Gowther then noticed something. He went over to where the pterodactyl ghost costume was supposed to be and pulled it up. "A secret hatch, the real pterodactyl ghost must've come through here." He then noticed something else and pulled something off. It was a scale. "What is it?" Hawk asked. "A reptilian scale, no doubt a clue." "But it stole two costumes." King said. "Yeah the black knight ghost and the 10,000 volt ghost." Diane said. "Yeah but why?" Ban said. Jordan then asked "excuse me, can you all answer a few questions please?"
the next morning the gang all woke up at mystery inc. headquarters, they walked downstairs and saw their partners around a computer. "Guys, look at this." Howzer said. They turned the computer towards them and a video started playing. It was Jordan standing outside of the museum saying "the higher the pedestal, the harder the fall, and mystery inc. fell hard, it was an utter disaster as the gangs mascot Hawk Rodgers caused untold damage to the exhibit that took almost two years to complete. When asked for a comment, Ban Jones, the leader of mystery incorporated, said." A clip of ban appeared showing him saying "liones can solve its own problems." It stopped before ban could finish. Jordan started talking again. Ban gaped and said "I never said that! I mean, technically I did but they took it out of context!" Gowther scrolled down to the comments and read "seriously? Wtf I supported them from the beginning. Their next mystery will be who burned down their headquarters." He closed the computer.
the gang hugged their partners as they got into the car, after the threats on the computer they all decided it would be best for them and the kids to go somewhere else until the whole situation got sorted out. Before their kids got in they hugged them, king hugged Marilyns belly. "You'll solve the mystery quick right?" Hector asked ban, who said "of course, you'll be back before you know it." Glariza said to Gowther "Te extrañaré padre." Gowther said "yo también te extrañaré mi hija." Nolan asked "everything will be ok right mommy?" Diane answered "of course, I'll miss you." King spoke into Marilyns belly "daddy's gonna miss you." The kids got in the car which then drove away.
the gang all walked into the headquarters with sad faces and king and hawk went to the kitchen. "It's my fault, I told king and hawk to get the ropes." Gowther said. "No it's my fault, I should have seen if they were tied before we let go." Diane said. "It's my fault too, we know how king and hawk can be, we just have to stay collected and do what we do best, solve mysteries." Ban said. The three went to the lab. Unknown to them, king and hawk were sitting behind the kitchen counter listening to them. "They're right you know, we're screw ups." Hawk said. "I mean every time they came up with a plan we messed it up one way or another, I just didn't notice, Hawk, we have to prove that we belong in the gang, by acting like real detectives."
king and hawk walked into the lab wearing trench coats and fedoras and king said "alright let's take this investigation up to eleven." Everyone looked at the two and ban asked "are you guys feeling ok?" "Yeah we're just hyped up to solve this mystery." The computer beeped and printed a paper. Hawk grabbed it and said "hm, what are these strange marks." Diane turned it right-side up and said "they're words." "Oh, king hold this while I take notes." Hawk handed the paper to king and took out a pen and notepad. "Come on you goofs." Gowther said while giggling. Gowther took the paper and read it. "It's positive, this is a real pterodactyl scale." Everyone gaped until Gowther got up and went to the computer and they grouped behind him. "Who would be able to make a real pterodactyl ghost?" Gowther asked. Diane answered "the original pterodactyl ghost: Vivian Montgomery." "Yeah she went on a robbery spree to fund her experiments of making monsters." Ban said "But it can't be her, she was at her electrician job all night last night, I called the company she works for." King said. The others turned to him and Diane said "huh, nice job king." King smiled and said "thanks." "What about Merlin, she said she'd get back at us." Ban said, but quickly regretted saying it when he saw Gowthers face become sullen and remembered what happened. (Flashback) the prison guards had Merlin cornered on a ledge. "Come on Merlin, you're not getting out, just come with us back to your cell!" One guard shouted. Merlin looked at them then behind her at the vast ocean. She closed her eyes and jumped. (Flashback over) her body was lost at sea. Everyone was quiet until Diane suggested "what about Escanor and Arthur Tauna?" Gowther looked up their names and said "Their real surnames are Castillo, Arthur was released from prison 5 months ago, Escanor was released 10 months ago, Escanor pretty much went off the grid but Arthur got a welding apprenticeship, an apartment, and according to his Twitter account a girlfriend, he's pretty much turned his life around, plus he doesn't live anywhere near liones." Ban then said "looks like the only lead we have is Vivian, she could've had someone cover for her, I say we investigate her."
the boar hat pulled up in front of an old manor, Vivian Montgomery's ancestral manor. As everyone got out king, who was back in his regular clothes, said to himself "another creepy crib, why can't we ever investigate an all you can eat buffet." Hawk, who also got rid of the ridiculous outfit, then whispered to him "Helbram and the baby are counting on you, remember?" King put on a brave face and said "then again, creepy is my middle name." They all walked to the front door and ban pulled down on a chain doorbell. A voice came over on a loudspeaker which said "you are trespassing on Montgomery manor, leave now or pay the price." Ban prepared to pull the chain again but king grabbed his arm and said "Ban he said we'd pay the price." "Relax what's the worst that could happen." He pulled the chain. And a trapdoor opened beneath them and sent them down into a giant metal ball. The ball then dropped and started rolling, the gang screaming all the way. The ball stopped suddenly and rotated a bit. "Does that answer your question ban?" The voice came on again and said "at seven pm the owner will be home to set you free." The gang groaned at their predicament and gowther stood up. He looked out of an opening of the ball and saw "oh man, the locks on a laser thumbprint scanner." Diane stood up and said "I got this." She pulled out a makeup bag and applied blush to the scanner. She then got a pore strip and pressed it on. The scanner activated and the ball opened.
after getting out of the basement the gang walked into a foyer where king said "all right let's split up and look for clues, Hawk and I will go that way." The two walked off leaving their dumbfounded teammates wondering what the f* has gotten into those two.
Gowther then noticed some glowing foot prints leading to the library, he pointed them out to the others "they glow like the scale." They followed them in. "Looks like Vivian is a supernatural buff, I mean look at all these encyclopedias." "There's a lot of dust here too." Diane said. "Yeah but that's good, you can tell what she's been reading lately, like this." Ban said as he pulled a book off the shelf. Gowther examined it and said "it's some sort of obsolete Celtic text, they were used by secret societies in the 19th century." Ban opened it and they saw a list of names. "Look, it belonged to M. Dinkley." Diane said. Gowther then said "wait I just remembered, Vivian was Merlins cellmate." Ban said "she must've given this to Vivian before she died." Ban put the book down on a desk and gowther started reading it. "It's some sort of mix of magic and science, a guide to creating your own carbon based organic composite predators." "In English?" Diane asked. "It's an instruction manual for creating monsters."
king was currently looking around the parlor for clues when hawk came in and said "I found some clues." King looked over and saw hawk drop random stuff on the floor. "Hawk, that's just stuff you want to take home." King said. "No they're not." "On what grounds would a toilet plunger be considered a clue? Hey what's that?" King noticed a sticky note on hawks ear, he then reached and plucked it off. He read it and saw that it had an address to "the faux ghost, open on Thursday night, today is Thursday." "Oh my god, king, we found a real clue!" The two then started happy dancing, then stopped when they heard metal creaking. Hawk jumped into the arms of a suit of armor, then realized that the suit was "the black knight ghost!" King screamed. Hawk and king immediately ran. They went into a lounge area and began barricading the door. The black knight ghost handed king something and king said "thanks." Then realized who it was. He backed away and accidentally tripped over hawk. The rest of the gang came in, having been alerted by the two screaming, and ban, who was holding a shield said "bring it metal head." The black knight ghost then slammed his fist into the shield, which hit ban in the head. Ban swayed a bit and said "he brought it." And fell down. The black knight ghost brought his sword down on him, only for Diane to block it with a spear. "Diane hold him off, I'll look at the book for a weakness." Gowther said, then screamed as Diane pulled him out of the room and she began fighting the black knight ghost. "I found something!" Gowther said and started reading the formula for a monster weakness while Diane continued fighting. "Gowther!" Diane shouted as she pulled him away from the black knight ghosts sword. The black knight ghost then split her spear in two and the fight led up the stairs. Diane then managed to kick the black knight ghosts sword out of his hands, which went down onto the desk Gowther was at, he then picked up the book and backed away. Diane slid down the staircase and saw the sword pick itself up, it swung itself at the two and they narrowly dodged it. "Look no hands." The black knight ghost said in a mocking tone. "Anytime now Gowther!" "I'm trying!" The black knight ghost then took his sword and started hacking away at the spear. "I found it!" Gowther said as he ran up to the black knight ghost, and proceeded to kick him right in the groin. The black knight ghost made a whimpering sound and everyone ran out of the manor and back to the boar hat.
back at the headquarters Gowther said "I'm gonna compare those glowing footprints to the pterodactyl scale." Ban said "me and Diane'll check out that book." They all went their own way except for king and hawk. "King, we should find Vivian at the faux ghost and see what she knows." "Great plan Hawk, but first we have to give the gang the slip." A few minutes later king told ban and Diane "hey guys me and hawk aren't feeling so good, we're gonna go get some fresh air." The two then left.
later Gowther looked at the scanner results from the scale and said "jinkies." He then went into the lounge where ban and Diane were reading the book. "Guys the analysis of the scale said it contains randamonium, which according to the book is the key ingredient to making monsters." Gowther said. Diane then asked "doesn't randamonium glow? Like the footprints in Vivians mansion?" Ban then said "if we can prove Vivian is behind this then liones likes us again and the rest of our family can come back." Diane then asked "where would she get randamonium?" "Randamonium is the byproduct of silver-mines." Gowther answered. "Like the abandoned mining town in old liones." Ban said. Gowther then said "we better get there and see what- aah!" Gowther screamed and ducked. He crawled while telling himself "soy invisible, soy invisible." There was then knocking on the door, ban and Diane looked out the window next to the door and saw slader. Gowther crawled over a couch, popped his head up and said "get rid of him." Diane looked at ban and said "I'll talk to Gowther." She followed him into the lab and asked "who was that." "Slader." Gowther answered while still crawling. Dianes eyes widened and she asked "slader your ex?" "No slader our accountant, yes slader my ex, he wants to ask me on a date." Diane then started crawling after Gowther saying "it's ok to be scared." "I'm not scared I've fought werewolves and ghosts but they're always just shriveled up scared people inside." "Gowther maybe you're just using all that stuff and everything that's going on right now as a distraction from what's really bothering you." She and Gowther then came face to face and she said "closure with slader, and by closure I mean growing a pair and telling slader that the two of you are over." "I know but, I already broke his heart once, after I broke up with him his mom sent me an email saying that he was curled up on his bed listening to sad breakup songs." Dianes expression softened and she said "I understand, but that was a long time ago, we were all just kids, I'm sure now he'll be more understanding." Gowther smiled and hugged her. "Thanks Diane I needed that." "What are friends for?" They then walked out and saw ban and slader talking. "Alright guys lets go." Slader said. Ban covertly told Gowther and Diane that he inadvertently invited slader to investigate with them.
meanwhile outside the faux ghost King and Hawk were examining the building. "I recognize a lot of these people, that's ruin he was redbeards ghost, that's Jude he was the 10,000 volt ghost, and fresia aka the ozark witch, this is a club for everyone we've unmasked." Hawk started trembling and whisper/shouted "if any of them see us they're gonna eat us alive." "Don't worry hawk, we'll use our detective skills to sneak in." A few minutes later king and hawk were both in flashy disco outfits, king's including a fedora and fake gold tooth, and hawks including an Afro wig. Amazingly the disguises worked. Hawk and King looked around, there was a lot of anti mystery incorporated things, including dartboards with the gangs pictures on them, and a whack a mole with their heads. They then spotted Vivian at the bar, they walked over and sat down next to her. "Vivian Montgomery right?" "Yeah what is it?" "We just wanted to say thanks, your portrayal of the pterodactyl ghost was an inspiration for me and my brother, are you up to anything cool and creepy?" King said. "I'm not really one for advice, but I feel sorry for you two, mostly because of your brothers deformity, get out of this game while you have a chance, none of us did anything to be proud of, we all felt like we needed to be someone we weren't, maybe because we thought there was something wrong with who we are." King and hawks expressions softened and hawk said "I guess your kinda grateful to mystery inc. for unmasking you." "Are you kidding! If I see them again I'll tear their tongues out of their mouths!" Vivian said and chuckled. King and Hawks eyes widened and they both said goodbye before walking away. Then someone accidentally pulled off Hawks Afro and yelled "hey! It's Hawk and King Rodgers!" Everyone then looked and began crowding around them with menacing looks. "Gangway!" King shouted as he and Hawk ran and jumped through the garbage chute.
while driving, there was awkward silence. Then there were sirens. Everyone then saw police at the museum. "This can't be good." Diane said. Everyone got out and slader and Gowther went into the museum while ban and Diane were questioned by Jordan "any comments on the museum robbery?" Ban answered "mystery inc. is currently investigating the two stolen costumes." "No the one that just happened, the black knight ghost and the 10,000 volt ghost stole the rest of the costumes." Ban and Diane weren't expecting that. Inside the museum slader was looking around, distraught. "Slader I'm so sorry." "I have to go." "I'll help y-" "no!" Slader walked away. Back to ban and Diane, Jordan said "so what you're saying is, it's all downhill for mystery inc." "no! Wait, you're doing that thing where you trick me into saying stuff so you can take it out of context so it looks like I think liones sucks, crap don't record that!" Ban, Diane and Gowther went back into the boar hat. On the screen Jordan was saying "all Ban Jones had to say was." It cut to ban saying "I think liones sucks." It stopped before ban said anything else. Diane then looked out the window and saw Jordan, then something clicked. "I'll be right back." She got out and went to Jordan as the camera turned off and said "what's with the smear campaign?" "Look I'm a huge fan but my editor just-" "who are you kidding." "Who are you kidding, what do you do for the gang? Seriously, i mean Gowthers the smart one, Bans the leader, Kings the funny one, Hawks the mascot, and you're just a pretty little face." "Why are you doing this?" "Because it's my job to unmask those who pretend to be who they're not." "You sound like, the evil masked figure." "Oh that's what you do, you come up with bullshit theories-" Jordan was cut off by "mystery incorporated! You have once again been proven useless before my power! Because of you liones will soon be mine!" The masked figure said from the roof of the museum before disappearing. "Thanks a lot, scoop of the nights gone! Can you do anything right?" Jordan said before leaving. Diane whispered to herself "guess not." She went back to the boar hat.
Hawk and King were taking their garbage covered disguises off and king found that wearing his regular clothes underneath was a good idea. They then heard someone. "I want you to question all your scum bucket friends and find out what they know about those stolen costumes, now!" A man then walked to the faux ghost and Hawk and King saw. "Slader?" Hawk said "King, Hawk, it's been a while." Slader said as he shook King's hand and Hawks ear. "Yeah we haven't seen you since we left the first time." King said as he remembered how it went down. (Flashback) the gang was all packed and ready to hit the road for mystery solving. They were at the city limit, the boar hat parked on the side of the road, Kings mother bought the van for them. They had said goodbye to their parents and their other friends, and Gowther was on the phone with his soon to be ex boyfriend slader. "Yeah a long distance relationship isn't really gonna work out so, I know it's kind of cliche but it's really not you it's me." The gang then heard shouting from the phone, which made Gowther flinch "uh, no really I, oh are you crying? Um, adiós." Gowther hung up. After taking one last good look at the city they spent their lives in up to that point, the gang got into the boar hat and drove away from it, nervous, but excited to see what the future held for them. (Flashback over) "Uh yeah the museum got broken into again, I came down here to get some answers." King then saw Vivian and said "sorry, nice seeing you again." He and hawk walked away.
Hawk and King followed Vivian to the mining town in the old part of liones. After a bit they lost her. They ended up going into a building and they ended up running into. "Skeleton men!!" Hawk screamed. The two ran and hawk ended up jumping onto a pickax pile. Most fell down but one stayed up and went down slowly with a click. The walls then moved and revealed an elevator. "Good work hawk lets go!" They ran to the elevator and pushed down.
the boar hat pulled up to the mining town and the three got out. "What's your assessment Gowther?" "This place seems harmless enough, Slader seemed so upset when he left, Is that a bad thing if I want closure with him?" "Ban, am I just a pretty face?" Diane asked. "No, or yes, definitely not fat is that what you're going for?" "Fat? Why would you use that word?" "Guys!" Gowther gestured to a figure, it was Vivian. They followed her into a building. Ban opened the door and said "Vivian Montgomery mind to tell us what you're doing here?" Vivian turned around, then turned away and said "my job, this place is run down so I have to make sure that the cables and all that stuff are safe." "Vivian we'd like to question you about your suspected involvement in the recent monster attacks." Gowther said. "I don't know anything." "Then why was there randamonium on the floor of your mansion?" Diane asked. "I track it in there sometimes after I come here." "Are you continuing the work of your old pal Merlin dinkley?" Ban asked. Vivian turned to them and said "old pal? We hated each other, she used to steal my food in the cafeteria, and she always made the other inmates gang up on me." "Then why did we find a monster book in your library?" "Wait, are you the ones that broke into my home?"
"wow Hawk, we just found a huge laboratory." King said as the elevator touched down. The two got out and the elevator went back up. Hawk then went over to a refrigerator and opened it. "Mmm lemonade." He then licked some yellow liquid from a beaker. "Hey check out these weird letters..." King trailed off as he saw hawk, he had tentacles. "Hawk, you turned into a monster." Hawk looked in a mirror and immediately screamed. King went over and said "there's probably an antidote in here somewhere, Uh try this." He handed him a beaker of blue stuff and saw that some got on his hand. He licked it off as hawk drank it. And the two then started writhing. "Uh, I'm ok, oh my god, I have a chicks body!" King said as he looked in the mirror. He then looked at hawk and screamed when he saw that he was turned into the Tasmanian devil. He looked in the fridge and splashed something on hawk before drinking it. They changed again. "I'm buff." King chuckled. "My god, it seems that I'm now, ludicrously intelligent!" Hawk said in a british accent as he grabbed different things and mixed them. "Check out my pecs man." "Hush buffoon, this is a highly combustible synthesis." "Whu?" "I'm going to change us back." "No way." King grabbed the beaker and threw it, which caused BOOOM
the three heard a loud boom and rushed to find the source, leaving behind Vivian.
the elevator touched down and the three rushed out. They saw a giant hole in the wall. "This oaf almost destroyed us." They turned and saw hawk and king. Hawk splashed some of the antidote on king and drank the rest of it. The two then changed back to normal. "That kinda reminded me of Miami." King said. "What are you two doing here?!" Diane said. "You lied to us, we're a team, you can't just-" Ban was cut off as Gowther said "hey gang, beware who enter monster hive inside your fears will come alive." He read from the letters that king saw earlier. The gang walked through the hole and saw, the costumes from the museum. "The slaughterhouse ghost." Ban said. "Miner 49er." Diane said. "The tar monster." Gowther said. "Captain cutler." King said. "They're probably all here." Hawk said. "The masked figure is using the costumes to make real monsters, which implies." King said followed by ban "He needs the costumes to make the monsters which implies." Followed by Diane "he already had the pterodactyl ghost costume somehow, which implies." Followed by Gowther "Sladers the one." Everyone looked at him and Diane said "how are you gonna break that to Nadja?" "What? No not romantically, I mean he's the bad guy, that's why he wanted to go on a date with me, to see what we knew." "Me and hawk saw slader at the bad guys hang out." "And you breaking up with him would be pretty good motivation." Diane said. "We don't know for sure if it's slader but we have to find a way to shut down this place." Ban said. They all split up. King then ended up stepping on a button on the floor. King and hawk heard mechanical whirring and saw a control panel lower down to them. Hawk pushed a button and the control panel lit up and made rhythmic noises. King pushed another button and said "hey, tuneage." The two began rapping and pushing buttons while unknown to them, the monster making machine was turned on and currently turning the costumes into monsters. It wasn't until they heard groaning that they turned around and saw them. The slaughterhouse ghost, miner 49er, the tar monster, and captain cutler. "We have, to remain, calm." King said, followed by hawk screaming. "Hawk! You're not being calm!" King started freaking out. Hawk turned around and slapped king. "Thanks I needed that." Hawk slapped him again. "That too." Hawk punched him. "Don't push your luck Hawk!" Ban, Diane and Gowther came back and the monsters turned toward them. "Ban! Disconnect that control panel maybe it'll stop the machine!" Gowther shouted to ban, who was up on a railing. Ban ran across the railing and slid down a ladder. He ran to the control panel and ripped it out. Ban, Diane, Gowther, King and Hawk then ran to the exit while dodging fire breathed by miner 49er, arrows fired by captain cutler, a hatchet thrown by the slaughterhouse ghost, and tar from the tar monster. They ran to the elevator and were intercepted by the 10,000 volt ghost. When they got on the elevator King said "we're gonna die!" Diane said "think positive!" "We're gonna die quickly!" King said again. When the elevator reached the top the gang got out and saw the 10,000 volt ghost come out from a light in the elevator. They backed away slowly. Then ran screaming after the skeleton men jumped out from behind them. Ban, Diane and Gowther ran in one direction and were pursued by the 10,000 volt ghost, while King and Hawk went in the opposite direction and were pursued by the skeleton men. Ban, Diane and Gowther ran to the boar hat and the 10,000 volt ghost electrified the rails in front of them, luckily Ban backed up in time. King and Hawk managed to find an exit, only to find that it led nowhere when they fell to the ground. They kept running until they got to a cliff. King grabbed a garbage can lid and jumped, using the lid as a makeshift snowboard. Hawk saw the skeleton men coming towards him and quickly grabbed his own lid and jumped as well. King shouted "this powders rippin Hawk! Zoinks!" They looked back and saw the skeleton men sliding down, one was using the other as a sled. King and Hawk started going faster, and Hawk ended up getting into a scuffle with the skeleton men. Hawk then grabbed onto a tree branch and swung around it like a gymnast while the skeleton men sled past him and collided with a tree, which broke them. Hawk then slid to the edge but stopped, only for King to knock them both over. They fell, screaming, and were caught at the last minute by ban and gowther. "Are you guys ok?" Diane asked from the boar hat. "Yeah, how did you guys find us?" King asked. "Don't you remember the tracker chips we implanted in ourselves?" Gowther said. "Of course I remember they were my idea." Hawk replied. The radar for the chips was in the boar hat. They all got into the boar hat and ban started driving. "We should get back to headquarters." Ban said. "No, that'll be the first place they'll look for us." Diane said. "I know where we can go." Gowther stated.
meanwhile, in the streets of liones, people honked their car horns, then got out of their cars and ran when they saw a procession of monsters led by the masked figure who said "citizens of the city of liones, turn in mystery inc. your reward will be, we'll let you live!" The tar monster then proceeded to trap all the civilians on the street with tar.
meanwhile, at the drake mansion in San Diego, the rest of the mystery inc. family was currently in the drake mansion, the mansion was owned by Gowthers uncle Meliodas, although biologically speaking they weren't related. Gowther Sr and Meliodas grew up together in Puerto Vallarta and were able to remain best friends through the years. Gowther Jr and meliodas' son Tristan were also good friends. When Meliodas heard what was going on he offered to let them stay at his mansion in America. The adults were currently in the living room while the kids were playing in the playroom. The tv channel was cut off by a news broadcast "we interrupt this program for a special news bulletin, a monster army has invaded liones, the evil masked figure has ordered that mystery inc. turn themselves in and hand over something they stole from him." They all watched in shock.
"Angry citizens have gathered outside the gangs office in protest, they're insisting that they give into the masked figures demands." The gang watched Jordans news broadcast from the screen in the boar hat, it showed an angry mob outside the headquarters. The mob was interrupted by the monsters attacking. The screen cut back to Jordan who said "I'm begging you mystery inc. if you can hear me, turn yourselves in." "But if we do he'll get the control panel back, then things will just be worse." Ban said. "Please, for our city's sake." Jordan said, then there was pounding and the camera panned over to the black knight ghost which broke into the studio. The screen went to static and the gang all had 'this could not get worse' looks.
the boar hat pulled up to its destination and the gang got out. "Our old clubhouse, we should be safe here." Gowther said. "We haven't been here in years." Diane said nostalgically. The clubhouse was located in the swamps, it was a bit run down due to years of neglect. King looked over to Ban and asked "Ban are you ok? You wanna talk?" Ban replied "talkings for wimps." Everyone then walked in. King went to a generator and revved it up. Then the lights turned on. "Looks like everything still works." King said. Gowther then opened a floor compartment, "oh look, all my old tools." "Kind of ironic, after all our success, we're back here in this firetrap." Ban said, he trailed off when he found a picture of the gang. The others went to him and they all looked at the picture, it was taken after they solved a mystery involving a music teacher dressing as a banshee. They were all celebrating by playing frisbee. "It was just so easy back then." Ban said. "We solved mysteries for fun, not to prove anything to anyone." Diane said as she sat down. "The mysteries just seemed to unravel themselves, sometimes the answer would just appear like magic, oh hey, my resonance imaging device that won the science fair, I made it out of a crystal radio, an old video game and-" Gowther then remembered something as he was talking. "Wait a second, randamonium has an algorithmic cross currency of -4.121, with it maybe, well just maybe-" "we could reverse the current, and the monster making process." Ban cut off Gowther. "Yes all we need to do is rewire the panel-" Gowther was cut off by Diane "bring it back to the monster hive and plug it into the base." "Right then push the button-" "and instead of creating monsters, all the monsters in the city will be destroyed." Diane finished. A few hours later, the gang was almost finished rewiring the control panel when King said "me and hawk are gonna get some water from the well." "Hurry back." The two went out and hawk said "they don't need our help figuring that out." "You got that right, the monsters got created because of us, the only time we do something right is when we accidentally catch the monster because we made a dumb mistake." The two walked to the lake and king continued talking "we're never gonna be like them, I just wish my kid could be able to look up to me, just tell me one day 'I wanna be like you daddy'." King said sadly as he picked up a rock and skipped it across the lake. Then there was a metallic clunk. Then the water started bubbling as an old diving suit came up. "Captain cutlers ghost!" Hawk screamed as he and King ran for the boar hat and yelled for the others. The lights in the clubhouse turned off as the three came out and the gang ran into the van. Ban started driving, only for the van to start going back, captain cutlers ghost had harpooned the boar hat and was pulling it back to him. Ban then put the van in reverse and drove, the boar hat hit captain cutler and sent him flying back into the lake. Ban put it in drive again and drove to the mining town.
"King give me your hand!" Gowther said, king extended his hand to him and Gowther squeezed it as he finished rewiring the panel. "This is tied for the most terrifying day of my life!" "Tied with what?" Gowther asked. "Every other day of my life!" Gowther let go of his hand and said "it's done." There was then a screech from above. Diane looked out of the window and said "jeepers, tweety's back!" Diane said. "King I'm putting her in cruise, take the wheel!" Ban said and he and King started switching places. Ban opened the back door and used a hairspray flamethrower, made from Diane's hairspray and his lighter, on the pterodactyl ghost, only for it to grab both and crush them with its feet. "This is bad." Ban said. "No doubt." King said. Everyone looked at King and Diane asked "whose driving?" King then made a 'oh crap' face and everyone looked back to the drivers seat, which was occupied by Hawk. Before anyone could react, the pterodactyl ghost ripped the rug out from the boar hat, dragging the gang down with it. They managed to stay on the rug and struggled to get back into the boar hat. There was then the sound of a car horn honking, and everyone saw a semi truck driven by the slaughterhouse ghost. "Hawk turn the wheel!" Gowther shouted, everyone started shouting the same thing as hawk struggled to figure out the mechanics of the vehicle, then it clicked for him and he turned, avoiding the semi by a hair. The gang then got back into the boar hat just as the rest of the rug ripped out. The pterodactyl ghost then ended up flying right into a billboard.
Hawk managed to drive them to the mining town and they all got out. "Alright let's get this control panel plugged in." Ban said, then there was neighing. They looked over and saw the black knight ghost on a black ghost steed. "You'll go nowhere knave." The black knight ghost said. "You guys go the long way around, I'll hold him off." Ban said. The others hesitated a bit, then ran. Ban then walked over to a motorcycle covered by a dust cover, which he pulled off. He got on, and zipped open a pouch attached to his belt, and ate a hawk snack from it. The gang all had hawk snack pouches for when Hawk refused to do something, except for hawk himself. He zipped the pouch back up and revved up the motorcycle. He drove in front of the black knight ghost, picking up a long pipe on the way. They then started staring each other down. Meanwhile, the others were currently running, when suddenly there were sparks in the water in front of them, Gowther, King, and hawk managed to jump across, while Diane was separated from them by the 10,000 volt ghost. "You guys go! I'll take care of him! Just get the control panel back to the hive!" Diane shouted. The others ran and she ate a hawk snack from her pouch. Meanwhile, Ban and the black knight ghost began charging towards each other. Their weapons ended up knocking both of them down. Diane tried to attack the 10,000 volt ghost, only to get shocked into the air. She fell onto the ground and rolled into Ban. He looked at her and weakly said "Diane, are you okay?" She weakly replied "I think so, looks like this might be it huh?" "Yeah, I'm scared, I'm a coward." "That doesn't make you a coward, it makes you human." They smiled at each other.
Gowther, King, and Hawk were running, until they saw shadows on the wall. "The skeleton men." Gowther whispered. Aforementioned skeletons were currently putting themselves back together. The three started backing away slowly, then booked it after two steps. They hid, and Gowther handed the control panel to King. "Why are you giving this to me?" King asked. "I'll distract those boneheaded monstrosities, you guys have to get this to the monster hive." "Us?" Hawk whisper/shouted. "Yes, you're faster than me, once you get there just plug it into the base and push this button, it's rewired to destroy the monsters." Gowther explained. King then slid down the wall and said "but, we can't." "Yeah we're screw ups." Hawk said. "We tried to be heroes like you guys but we're not we're just a couple of cowards who can't do anything right except eat and run and, god that baby deserves a better father than me-" King was cut off by Gowther smacking him upside the head. "Ow, what was that for?" "Because you were talking so much bullshit I thought I had to knock your head right again." "Huh?" "You guys really wanna be like the rest of us?" "Yeah of course." Hawk said. "Huh, that's weird, I always wanted to be like you guys, you guys are just so free, never afraid to be who you really are, whether you're afraid or happy or hungry, the way I see it you've been heroes all along." Gowther said, making the two smile with happy tears in their eyes. "And for the record, that baby is going to have the best father anyone could ask for." "Second best." King said, the three all smiled and hugged. Gowther pulled out a hawk snack, ate it and said "here I go." He ran off. King and Hawk then looked at each other and king said "in case we don't get out of this, I just want you to know, you're the best pig ever, I'm lucky to have met you." "Right back atcha, i love you man." The two hugged and king pulled out two hawk snacks, gave hawk one, and the two ate them. They got up and started running, only to bump into miner 49er. The ghost miner then breathed fire at the two, who dodged and ran. Miner 49er chased them to a shed and breathed fire again, only for king to yell "let er rip!" Hawk then farted, causing miner 49ers flames to blow back to him, miner 49er then fell back and the two ran out victoriously.
Ban and Diane's conversation was cut short by the black knight ghost who said "on your knees knave." "Can you wait a little bit we're having a conversation." Ban said. "Talking is for wimps." The black knight said as he raised his blade to them. They got up quickly and ran, but were stopped by the 10,000 volt ghost. They backed up and Diane noticed something. "Ban, remember when you were young and you wore that jumper." She said, to which Ban replied "What?" "And we used to watch cable." Ban then realized what she meant, the jumper cables in the boar hat. He grabbed them and tossed two to Diane, who hooked them onto a pipe which she threw into the 10,000 volt ghost. Ban then attached the other two to the black knight ghost. The two monsters began writhing while Ban and Diane ran away, looking back briefly to see the two monsters explode.
Gowther ran to the skeleton men and shouted "¡oye!" As he picked up a stone and threw it at them, the rock hit one in the head and they began chasing Gowther. They ran for a bit until Gowther jumped into an air funnel, which caused the gate to close, the skeleton men tried opening it, only for the funnel to come loose and fall down on them. Gowther slid down and landed on gravel. "Ow, oh mierda mis lentes." Gowther found that his glasses had come off. "Realmente necesito considerar la cirugía láser." He felt around on the ground and he ended up finding them, along with a film projector. He turned it on and it played a slideshow of, Merlin. "¿Que demonios?" He then looked under the screen and saw a shrine to her, Gowther then noticed that there was even a photo of her with Gowthers grandfather and step-grandmother. Gowthers grandfather slept with his abuela on his bachelor party in Puerto Vallarta, and left the next day, and his abuela raised his papá alone. It wasn't until Gowther was 14 that he even knew Merlin existed, apparently his grandfather had confessed to his step-grandmother and she demanded he track his abuela down to see if the fling resulted in pregnancy, then he found out about Gowther Sr and Gowther Jr., Gowther always suspected that Merlin didn't like him because the whole ordeal put a strain on her parents relationship. He then looked down and saw what looked like a coffin. He hesitated, then slowly walked to it. He then noticed an odd picture on the shrine and took it. He bent down and shakily opened the coffin and saw "AAAH!!" Merlins rotting corpse. He jumped back and Kicked away from the coffin until he bumped into someone. "Gowther it's ok." Slader said, Gowther got up and held onto him. He sobbed into his chest, then realized who he was holding. "What are you doing here?" "I saw the boar hat driving here and I thought you guys might be onto something." Gowther backed away and asked "where and how did you get her body?" "What are yo-" Slader didn't get to finish since Gowther ran. Gowther ran up to a railing and slader followed him. "Stay away from me, I know who you are!" Gowther then fell through a loose grate and grabbed onto the other grate with one hand, and his other hand was caught by slader. "Gowther let go of the grate!" "So I can fall to my death!?" "No so I can pull you up! Just trust me!" "No! I only trust my family, friends and the facts, and all the facts say that you're the evil masked figure!" "What does your heart say?" "I don't know it's beating too loud to hear it!" "Listen closer." After a bit, Gowther let go. Slader lifted him up and Gowther said "you saved my life." "Duck!" Gowther heard screeching and he ducked down as the pterodactyl ghost snatched up slader. "Slader no!" "Gowther!" Diane shouted as she and Ban ran to Gowther. "Dude are you ok? What happened?" Ban asked. "The pterodactyl ghost took slader." "All we can do for him right now is put the control panel back where it belongs." Diane said. Then the two noticed it wasn't there. "Where is it?" Ban asked. "Se lo di a king y hawk." Gowther said.
King and Hawk ran into a room and locked the door behind them. They laughed in relief until they heard "you shouldn't have locked that door, now you're stuck with me!" They turned and saw "the cotton candy glob!" King and Hawk said cheerfully, yes you read that right. The cotton candy glob was taken aback when he saw the two lick their lips. They then leaped into action as the cotton candy glob shouted "I'll give you cavities!"
"I don't see them anywhere!" Ban said worriedly. "They're probably running around scared and helpless!" Diane said, also worried. "Hey guys!" Hawk said. They turned and saw King and Hawk running to them with the control panel, which they gave to ban. "Are you guys ok?" Gowther asked. "I don't know about Hawk but I feel like a million bucks, I just ate half of a cotton candy monster." "I feel awesome too." Their teammates looked at them as if they were insane before Ban said "alright let's go before-" they went into the monster hive and saw all the monsters in front of them. "Before that happens." Ban finished. "At last, mystery incorporated, you'll never make it past my monsters!" The masked figure said from the railing. "We've taken them before guys, let's do it again." Diane said. Ban then charged, only to get stuck in tar. "It's not them you need to worry about!" The masked figure cackled. The tar monster then said to Ban "now you're stuck in my trap." Ban then shouted "Diane!" He threw the control panel to her like a frisbee. She leaped and caught it. She then felt tar wrap around her waist as the tar monster lifted her up. She shouted "Gowther!" Gowther then ran into the field and caught the control panel after she tossed it to him, and ended up tripping, and tar began to cover him. "King!" He then tossed it to King. King fumbled the panel, but managed to grab it before the tar monster could. He then backed up to the wall and held the panel up as the tar monster started covering him. Hawk began whimpering as he backed up. "Soon your friends will be dead! Liones destroyed! My revenge complete! And there's nothing you can do about it!" The masked figure said. "Ban." Hawk saw he was being slowly choked. "Diane." He saw she was being suffocated. "Gowther." He was being twisted slowly. "King." He was getting crushed slowly. Hawk then bumped into something. He looked back and saw a fire extinguisher. He then got an idea. He took the extinguisher and, after getting it ready, he used it on the tar covering his friends, who then broke out of their restraints. "Stop him!" After evading him for a bit Hawk came face to face with the tar monster who said "give me that you worthless swine." Hawk huffed and used the extinguisher on him. He then used it to shatter him. He then took the skeleton men's heads and used them to incapacitate captain cutler and the slaughterhouse ghost, he took some fabric from the slaughterhouse ghosts clothes and used it with miner 49ers ax to propel himself into the air. "Hawk!" King then tossed the panel to him, and Hawk narrowly avoided the pterodactyl ghost. He then plugged the control panel into the base and pushed the button Gowther said to. The monsters then began writhing as the randamonium came out of them in the form of green fog and they turned back into costumes. "No! My monsters!" The masked figure ran across the railing, but ended up falling through the hole made by Gowther. The gang then ran to hawk and embraced him, giving exclamations of gratitude.
the gang walked out with the masked figure in tow and found that the sunrise had begun. They were then greeted by police officers, reporters, and pretty much all of liones. "Mystery inc. do you know the identity of the evil masked figure?" A reporter asked. "If our hunch is correct it's-" Gowther said before King and Diane lifted the mask off revealing. "Jordan Matthews." Diane said. The crowd murmured in shock. "But he was at the museum when the masked figure appeared on the roof." A reporter said. "That's because he had an accomplice, his cameraman." King said. Said cameraman, who was in the crowd, attempted to flee, only to be restrained by the police. "When I realized Jordan was the masked figure, his cameraman changed into the costume to throw me off track." Diane explained. "But why did he do it?" Gowther answered the reporters question with "because Jordan Matthews, is actually-" Gowther then ripped off Jordans face, revealing it to be a mask, and revealing the man underneath to be. "Escanor Castillo, accomplice and lover of my deceased half-aunt Merlin dinkley." Everyone gasped. "How do you know all of this?" "A photo of Merlin and Escanor." Gowther Held up a picture of Escanor and Merlin kissing. "Escanor blamed us for Merlins death and wanted to get revenge on us." Ban said. "He came up with the whole Jordan Matthews persona to turn the public against us." King said. "Then he framed Vivian Montgomery by hiding that book and the black knight ghost in her mansion." Diane said. Then Hawk said "and he managed to make a replacement pterodactyl ghost to leave in the museum after he stole the real one." "How did he steal the costume?" A reporter asked. Gowther answered "he was given an exclusive interview in the museum the day before the exhibit opened, so he decided to take the opportunity." The cops then took Escanor who said "and I would have gotten away with it too if it wasn't for you meddling kids and that dumb pig!" The crowd cheered as the criminals were arrested. Gowther then went to slader, who was in an ambulance and said "hey." "Hi, Gowther I understand I must've seemed very suspicious but-" "I understand slader, and I trust you. Listen I wanna clear the air, we may have had something back then but, I have a girlfriend and a daughter who I love, I'm sorry but it's just not gonna happen again, but I hope we can still be friends." Gowther said. Slader looked upset, then he smiled and said "okay, and if you want we can still see Stephen King, as friends." "I'd like that." Gowther said. He went back to the others. "Excuse me, can we get a picture please?" A reporter asked. "Of course." They all posed and as the picture was taken hawk oinked three times.
four months later, the mystery inc. family was currently in a hospital waiting room, except for King and Helbram, who were in the delivery room with Marilyn. "You're almost There Marilyn, Just a few more pushes." The midwife said. Marilyn pushed again and squeezed King and Helbrams hands. Soon the cries of a newborn baby filled the room. The baby was cleaned and swaddled and handed to King. The three looked at the baby girl and Helbram said "she's perfect." In a choked up voice. "Thank you so much Marilyn." King said with tears in his eyes. "What are you gonna name her?" She asked "Victoria." King replied. The rest of the family was then introduced to the new addition, tears were shed, congratulations were given, and they were all happy that they had someone new to share their adventures with.
