It takes place at the graduation party scene where the Cullen's are telling Jacob, quill, and embry about the newborns. Also, in this story. Bella has made her feelings for Jacob clear she loves him like a brother, that's it. He, however, keeps pushing. Also, in this story Bella has a bit of a backbone we know in Stephanie Myers story she doesn't have one. She has her faults in this story yes but not as bad as she did in the original. Also harry clearwater is not dead in this story but Leah and Seth still phased which caused Harry's heart attack, but he did live through it. Also, Collin and Brady are siblings in this story. "Hold up. What damn army?" Jacob asked.

"newborns. Our kind" Carlisle responded

"What are they after?" Embry asked not liking where this was going. His wolf did not like this at all. He made eye contact with Bella, but she wouldn't look at him. Typical, of course, she wouldn't. not in their presence.

"They were passing around Bella's scent. A red blouse." Alice commented.

Embry had to refrain from growling and had to keep his thoughts under lock and key. If Edward or Jacob knew, they'd kill him. That red blouse. That stupid red blouse. The red blouse that he bought for her.

"They are after Bella? What the hell does this mean?" Jacob asked,

"it means an ugly fight with lives lost." Carlisle responded in deep thought.

"alright were in." Jacob declared looking back at quil and embry who nodded. Embry, however, kept his eyes to the ground. He couldn't risk showing his emotions.

Bella sucked in a breath, her heartbeat was accelerating, and it only got worse when spoke again

"Jacob do you believe Sam would agree to an understanding?" Carlisle asked

"as long as we get kill some vampires "Jacob said looking towards Edward.

The group began to discuss training with each other on how to fight the newborns with jasper leading them.

Bella couldn't take much more, she had to walk out. "Bella?" Edward called

"leave me alone. I just need some space. Please." She called back. Bella started at a small trot but then it turned into a full run. Where was she going anyway? She didn't know. She couldn't breathe. How much longer would she have to hide? How much longer would she have to bear this? Newborns were coming and no one knew why or who created them and worst enough the vampires and werewolves had to work together. By now she was leaning on her truck. Her forehead on the window. Lives would be lost.

Her stressful thoughts were broken when hot arms wrapped around her waist. "you're scared." He whispered.

"I'm 100% human. Of course, I am scared." She replied as his arms wrapped around her tighter than before.

"So what, you think all of us aren't scared?" he growled

"Who pissed in your coffee?" she snapped

"you did. Get in the truck. Were leaving. Don't know why you even allowed the stupid pixie to throw you a party. You and I both know you didn't want one. All this stupid fakeness. Come on let's go." He growled

Bella could tell he was allowing his wolf to take control and she didn't blame him. She is pissed off to.

Chapter 2:

He asked her to drive because he was too pissed to do so himself. "I can't do this anymore! I won't do this anymore! You let them treat you like a pet! You didn't want a party yet they threw you one anyway! And what about Charlie, did you get to spend time with him? and don't get me started on Jacob or Edward! Jacob kissed you without your consent! And then he gives some dumb meaningless bracelet as if that is supposed to make things better! I thought he was better than that! Do you know how much self-control I had to have in order not to tear his head off! But no, instead of me! Your mate! You allow that cold dead leech to defend you! That should have been me, Bella! Are you ashamed of me? Is that it? Because if that's the case then we can end this right here, right now! I have enough of people being ashamed of me." he asked coldly

"Don't you yell at me embry call! You know why I am putting up with this crap! I can't just leave yet Em. Alice promised the Volturi I would be changed. I have to get out of that promise before we-"

"Bull crap! Bullcrap! Bullcrap!" He snapped. Seeing him like this turned her on. He was never this loud or feral around the pack or even with Jacob or quil. Only with her. Around her he could be himself. Yes he was quiet, shy and playful but under that there was a man who had a fire in him and wouldn't take crap from anybody.

"That's just an excuse because your scared! Your scared Bella, well I am too! An army of vampires are coming after you! And another army of vampires wants you changed! And there's nothing I can do about it! I have to watch Jacob paw after you while Edward hovers over your neck like some freaking value meal from a burger king menu! They treat you like an object not a person! And I can't watch it anymore!"

"Embry! All hell will break loose if we tell people right now! it's all about timing. Where are we going?" she asked

"your house. I would like to treat my mate to a vampire and werewolf free environment. So, I planned a nice romantic weekend at my place. And screw it, Bella! Screw it. Everyone will have to get over it. Fine, ill make you a deal. After this newborn battle is over, were coming out no more hiding. I can't take it anymore. I finally have someone to call my own and someone to love me for me and someone I can love but because people will get pissy, I have to hide it. I'm tired of hiding. Its bad enough my mom won't tell me who my dad is, and the pack themselves don't understand and never will. I'm not full quilete Bella. I wasn't supposed to phase. But because somebody couldn't zip their pants I was born, and it could be anybody. It could have been Harry or Billy or Joshua or even Quils dad. But everyone is so afraid to spill the beans because it will make the tribe look bad. And did you know Sam's dad came home a few months ago! And Sam's mom just lets him in with open arms. He even a part of the stupid council now! All the important pack members' parents are on it. Pau's dad, Jacob's dad, Seth and Leah's dad, Sam's dad, Jared's freaking father, even Colin and Brady's dad just because he's Billy's brother in law and lastly quil's freaking grandfather. It's ridiculous! Tribe politics takes precedence over everything!"

So that's what was bothering him all week. Bella thought as they pulled up to her house. "hey when you say your place, do you mean your mom's house or-"

"The Makah reservation Bella. My uncle and his wife have missed you. So, I suggest you pack your stuff for a least a week. I gotta take a call anyway."

Bella nodded and headed inside.

Chapter 3:

A/n: in this story, the preparation for the newborn battle is going to be for some weeks. Not days. That really annoyed me in the book and movie. Like how are you going to train and then defeat an army within days? That just never made sense to me.

Jacob and quil finished getting all the information from the leeches before they headed over to Sam's. They stopped however when Edward called them. "Have you seen Bella?"

"What? no, I thought she came back in and where the heck is embry?" Jacob asked him

"He complained about the leech smell and went outside." Quil mentioned

"maybe she went home leech. Probably trying to get away from you." Jacob snarled

Edward stepped into Jacob's space to say something, but Alice came from around the corner.

"hey! Both of you chill out! Bella is at home. She just called me. She said she wasn't feeling well, and she would see us in a few days. Besides, we all have to work together to protect her. Edward, The wolves are around Bella a lot more, so you need to relax"

"I better go check on her," Edward said.

"I think you give her space Edward. She's had a long day. Her emotions were all over the place. Just give her some time to process everything" jasper said as he appeared next to Alice.

"fine," Edward said as he continued to give Jacob's retreating form a death glare.

Quil and Jacob had just entered Sam's house when his house phone rang. They had searched fruitlessly for embry. He was nowhere to be found. By now the whole pack and council had gathered in the backyard. News of vampires coming on their land traveled fast. A bonfire had been lit and the pack settled down.

It was Emily who answered the phone. "hello."

"Emily, its embry. Look I don't have time to explain but something came, and I have to take care of it. I'll be around tomorrow or the day after. Tell sam. Thanks." The line went dead

"hey! Is that embry?" Jacob asked rushing in.

"yeah, but he hung up. He said he had something to handle? What happened I thought you guys were going to Bella's graduation party?" Emily asked

"we did but then embry bailed on us. I wonder what's wrong with him?" Jacob murmured.

"We'll figure that out later. We have a meeting, he will have to catch up later. Let's go." Sam ordered

Sam Uley was not happy. First the Cullen's return causing the phase, then they leave but more boys continued to phase and to their shock embry call was one of them. Which meant his father or someone else had cheated? And to make matters worse, his father popped out of the blue a few months ago. It angered him. How could his mother just act like nothing happened and now he was on the council? which meant Sam had to see him almost every day and it gave Sam's father have power over him that he didn't deserve but of course none of the elders would say that. Joshua Uley was an Uley and there for the head of the three great families from which the wolves phased. Black, Altera, and Uley it wouldn't make sense to have two family heads and not all three. Billy, old quil and Joshua had seniority and the most power. Of course, Billy black's word was law. He was the chief.

His thoughts were cut off when Billy black himself gave a loud whistle to gather everyone's attention.

"Cold ones are approaching our lands. Within 3 to 4 weeks. We as a tribe must prepare. From here on out the tribe will be on lockdown. While the older wolves are training. The younger ones will guard the reservation. But first Sam, did the Cullen's tell you why this so-called army is even coming?"

"I didn't get a chance to ask. Jacob was the one who informed me." Sam replied as all eyes turned to Jacob who was spaced out himself.

"Jacob? "Harry called out.

"huh? What? oh sorry. yeah ..the reason uh. Their after...Bella."

"Bella? As in Isabella swan?" harry asked

"The leech lover. We are protecting her? For the love of god! She's the one who screws leeches! Why should we defend her?" Paul yelled.

Jacob jumped up to defend Bella but was cut off by his father.

"Enough!" Billy roared. "our job is to protect this tribe and any human from the cold ones. These cold ones could get on our land if we don't help the Cullen's. They have extended an olive branch to us and we will take it. Now go home and get some sleep. You all will need it" The pack began to head home, most of them leaving their fathers to talk amongst themselves Except for Sam and Jacob
