Chapter 1

It's been about 9 years since Shinichi Kudo had shrunk and became Conan Edogawa. 9 whole years since that fateful day in Tropical Land. It felt like yesterday since he shrunk and there was still no progress in tracking down the Black Organization, even with the help of the FBI, PSB, and CIA, they all still can't find any leads to take them down. Despite that though they remain hopeful that the Organization will one day fall.

Conan slowly got out of bed and put on his glasses, he looked around the room and chuckled to himself remembering he's no longer staying in the detective agency, he moved to the Kudo Mansion after he entered middle school. The reason he moved out was that he felt Kogoro had become a more competent detective without the need to be knocked out and need to provide hints, but he still needs to work on his drinking. Conan checked his phone for the time and saw that it was still pretty early, so he decided to take a short shower. Once he finished he walked downstairs to the kitchen on the table he saw a note. Conan read it and signed, he put the note back on the table. He looked in the fridge and saw that there was nothing for him to eat so he decided to go to Hakase's place for breakfast.

So Conan put on his shoes and walked towards Hakase's house, once he made it he knocked on the door and waited patiently for a couple of minutes. After some time the door opened and revealed the jolly old man.

"Oh Conan-Kuni you're here" Agasa smiled. "so what do you need"

Conan sheepishly rubbed the back of his head "Well there's no food at my house and I was hoping to eat breakfast here"

Conan and Agasa heard someone sign from inside they both looked and saw that it was Haibara who had just woken up.

"Seriously you still can't cook" Haibara yawned.

Conan smiled seeing "Yo Morning Ai"

"Morning" Haibara yawned again "So you're here to eat again"

Conan chuckled "Yeah sorry"

Haibara signed and walked into the kitchen "Well come in"

Agasa smiled and let Conan inside, the teen and the old man sat at the counter awaiting Haibara. Once Conan sat down he took notice of the newspaper that was on the counter, on the front page it's said that a research facility was robbed leaving the entire staff that was there dead. Conan picked the newspaper and looked at the case with interest.

Agasa seeing Conan eyeing the case "Oh the robbery case, from what was said there were no survivors"

Conan nodded "Yeah everyone who was in the facility was killed, it says all of them were either beaten to death or had their necks snapped" Conan looked over the article and tried to find any kind of clue the only thing he found was that it was most likely a group of 3 to 4 people and they stole some large device that was left unnamed.

As he was reading, Haibara placed three plates of food on the counter for him, Agasa and herself. Both Conan and Agasa saw it was a rather simple healthy morning breakfast.

"Thanks, Ai" Conan smiled putting the paper down.

"Thank you Ai-Kun" Agasa joyfully smiled.

Haibara smiled back at them "You're Welcome" she then sat down on the counter next to Conan and the three then began to eat their breakfast. Haibara sees Conan still eyeing the paper on the unknown robbery.

"So did you find anything useful to solve the robbery?" Haibara asked as she ate.

Conan shook his head "No, I can't think of anything"

Once finished Conan told Agasa and Haibara that he was going back home to change into his uniform.

"Ai I'll come and pick you up," Conan told her as he left.

Haibara nodded and stood up as well and went off to shower and get ready for school.

Agasa smiled when he saw the two "Those two really have changed, it's hard to believe it's been almost 10 years since those events"

After some time Conan was now waiting outside for Haibara, Haibara emerged from the house dressed in her school uniform.

"Took you long enough" Conan signed as the two began to walk to school.

Haibara smirked "Well a girl has to look her best"

Conan signed holding his bag lazily over his shoulder "Let's just get to school"

Haibara smirked "Okay"

As they walked Haibara took quick glances at Conan and as usual, she saw a bored expression on his face. She smirked as he was probably still lost in thought about the robbery case.

The two continue to walk to school once they reach their destination Teitan High School; they run into three of their friends consisting of two guys and one girl. One of the guys was tall and chubby and had short hair. The other male was a little shorter than the large one; he was scrawny and had freckles on his face. The girl was of average height and had a joyful expression on her face. The three wore the same uniforms as Conan and Haibara.

The girl seeing them smile and waved "Good Morning Conan-Kun Ai-chan"

"Yo Conan, Haibara," the chubby one smiled widely.

"Good Morning Conan-Kun, Haibara-san," the skinny one said.

"Morning Ayumi, Genta, Mitsuhiko" Conan smiled.

"Morning" Haibara yawned still tired from this morning.

The group that is known as the Detective Boys then walked into the school all of them talking about the usual. However when the group was about to enter one of the soccer players who was practicing accidentally kicked the ball towards.

Seeing it made Conan smirk a little he took the ball and kicked hard enough to score a goal on the opposite end of the field shocking the players.

"He scored a goal from there," one player said, shocked.

"As expected of Edogawa," another said.

Conan smirked and he and his friends walked inside the building with his friends.

"Seriously why did you quit soccer club, you can totally join the J-League with your skill," Genta told Conan after seeing him score a goal.

Conan signed "Like I said before I only play soccer to increase my physical abilities as a detective"

"Oh, really," Haibara asked.

"Yes, how many times do I have to keep telling everyone this" Conan said.

"It's just that we totally would have won the championship if you were in the club" Genta said.

"Genta-Kun is right Conan-Kun your skills are already at a J-Leaguer" Mitsuhiko stated.

"Yeah, you can totally join the Tokyo Spirits" Ayumi smiled.

Conan signed "Leave me alone"

The group friends then separated each of them going to their own class. Conan and Haibara walked into their class and sat quietly at their desk. Haibara taking out a fashion magazine but secretly gazed at Conan as he stared out the window in boredom. Once the class started the two paid no attention and answered every question they were asked with ease. Once class Conan and Haibara always walked home together after separating from the Detective Boys. As they were walking home, Haibara just gazed and kept her gaze on Conan.

"What's wrong Ai," Conan said, feeling her gaze on him.

Haibara looked up at him, not surprised he noticed her gazes "it's just that are you happy living like this"

Conan signed "This again, I told you before I'm happy living like this. I accepted it"

"But what about.." Haibara was interrupted.

"If it's about Ran, it's fine she's happy and that's all I care about '' Conan smiled softly, "Why do you keep asking me this? You already know my answer"

Haibara clenched her fist and looked down on the ground "it's just that, if I had finished the antidote properly then you'd be living your normal life again"

Conan just walked up to her, placing his hand on her shoulder "Come on don't look so down so much" he smiled trying to cheer her up.

"Conan" Haibara blushed.

"See that's better, you look prettier that way" Conan teased.

Haibara went redder and she quickly turned away from him "Idiot" she then walked away from him. Conan chuckled at this and went to catch up to her, as the two were continuing their walk home, however.

"AAAAHHHH"

The two heard a loud scream, they both turned and saw that someone was running towards them wielding knives.

Conan signed "Hey Ai can you hold this"

"Huh," Haibara said as Conan just threw his bag to her, Conan then stood in the man's way and he took a deep breath.

"Huh' the man said "GET OUT OF MY WAY KID" the man thrust his knife arm forward trying to stab Conan. Conan in a quick motion grabbed the man's knife and elbowed the man in the face.

"GAH" the man screamed, Conan then quickly grabbed the man's knife and used the hilt to hit the man in the face knocking the man out.

"Whew, that was easy," Conan said.

Haibara signed and handed Conan back his bag "Thanks Ai"

Haibara nodded "So what did you think this guy did"

"Well looks like we're about to find out" Conan pointed and Haibara looked and saw that Takagi was coming their way.

"Ah Conan-Kun, Ai-chan," Takagi said when he arrived.

Conan grinned "Yo Takagi-Keiji"

"Hello," Haibara said, she then looked towards the knocked out man "So I guess this man tried to escape custody"

Takagi nodded "Yes, we took our eyes off him for a second and he just ran away after he was exposed for his crimes"

"Oh I see," Conan said. "So let me guess, you had a detective solve the case again"

Haibara signed "Oh come on, the police can't always rely on some random detective to their job"

Takagi sweat drop "Well um"

"I just happened to be there by coincidence. It's not like I just walk in on crime scenes" a male voice.

Conan and Haibara turned and saw another man who looked like an older Conan, and Conan smiled when he saw who it was.

"As I thought it was you who solved it Shinichi-san" Conan smiled as he looked at none other than Kudo Shinichi.

A.N. hello there, This is a rewrite of the old story, I decided to rewrite this story because I was not really happy with the original which is on me because the story was all over the place. So for this rewrite, it's going to be pretty similar, its going to be more of a hero/Vigilante type story so what do you guys think, be sure to let me know in the reviews.
