Alright I decided to redo my Sinnoh story, and hopefully I can do a better job. First Ash will be paired Giselle since it's rarely seen. Next Brock and Dawn will still be traveling with him, since I wouldn't feel right to leave them out. Ash, Brock and Dawn will catch more Pokémon and Giselle with be a ground type trainer. Also Ash will take his old Pokémon with him to Sinnoh. As for Team Rocket I'll keep just because the series wouldn't be the same without them.
"Ouch Victreebel took a major hit, but it looks like he's not backing down."
It was once time for the Kanto League, and Ash happen to be invited by Mr. Goodshow the head of the Pokémon League to watch. After hearing about Ash successes in conquering the Battle Frontier, Mr. Goodshow thought it would be a good opportunity to catch up with his old friend. Currently the two were watching a battle between a trainer named Paul who was apparently from Veilstone City in the Sinnoh Region, where Ash would be going on his next journey.
From Ash could see, Paul was powerful trainer who like to use pure power with impressive tactics. He often rotated his team to get the best results, however he didn't to like failure from his Pokémon. The other trainer was one Ash had met a long time ago, Joe. He first met Joe when he first traveled through the Kanto Region, with Misty and Brock, the three came across the Pokémon Technical Institute. It was a school where trainers could study for 4 years then could enter the Kanto League without battling the gym leaders.
Currently Joe was down to his last Pokémon while Paul hadn't lost a single one.
"Victreebel use Leaf Blade." Joe in hopes of dealing some damage.
On Paul's side was bipedal weasel with a dark grey body, a bright red crown of feathers. These feathers with on the side of its head, and two tail feathers. It also several shape claws on its hands and feet. The final noticeable feature was an orange gem on its forehead.
Seeing his opponent Pokémon making a last ditch effect, Paul simply ordered Ice Beam. Grinning Weavile cupped his hands together and it generator a wave of freezing cold energy that created an icy blue arc that struck Victreebel hard. Once it was done, Victreebel collapsed knocked out.
"Victreebel is unable, and Weavile is the winner, which means the victory goes to the trainer Paul from Veilstone City." The ref announced holding a red flag.
"What an upset Joe from the Pokémon Technical Institute put up a fight, but Paul defeat without losing a single Pokémon. What a match!" The announcer cheered.
The audience cheered as the incredible match ended, Joe returned his Victreebel and praised his Pokémon for its hard work. Paul on the other hand quietly returned his Pokémon, before walking off without acknowledging his opponent.
"What an amazing match what did you think Ash?" Mr. Goodshow asked looking towards Ash.
"You're certainly right, that match go me sure fired up. That trainer Paul he certainly strong, and I'm glad Joe became a great trainer too." Ash answered back with a smile on his face. "Don't you agree Pikachu?" Ash asked his longtime partner.
"Pika, Pika." Pikachu cheered.
"So Ash I'm curious where's your next journey going to take place?" Mr. Goodshow asked. Ever since he first met Ash he knew the young man showed much potential. As the years went he only proved this by place in top 16 in his 1st league, top 8 for his next two league as well, he also won the orange league, and now with him being the first trainer to defeat the Battle Frontier he also seems to continue grow as a trainer.
"Sinnoh." Ash replied, as his eyes wondered back to the battlefield where the next contestants had entered.
The red trainer was using a Flygon while the green trainer was using an Kingdra. The two trainers were on the water battlefield, and now were using two power dragon types.
"Ah the Sinnoh Region, such a beautiful place, with some of the most powerful gyms, and arguing the most powerful league. Tell me Ash why did you decide Sinnoh for your next journey." Mr. Goodshow asked.
Not taking his eyes off the battlefield Ash answered, "Well after beating separating from May, Max, and Brock I decided to head home and figure out what to do next. On my way, I came across Gary my old friend and Prof. Oak grandson. The two of us battle and I lost badly. It was then I learned Gary was studying to become a Professor in Sinnoh."
"After hearing about Sinnoh I knew that's where my next journey would take place. Originally I was planning on going as soon as possible, but that's when I got your invitation to watch the Kanto League, so with encourage from my mother and Prof. Oak to take a quick break before going on another journey I decided to accept your offer. Plus, it gave me some time…." Ash continued his story before trailing off, as he continued to watch the match. So far the green trainer's Kingdra took down Flygon, before failing to the red trainer's Breloom. Now it was Breloom vs Fearow.
"I'm assuming your using this time to reflect on what you want to do on your next journey." Mr. Goodshow finished Ash's last sentence, his eyes returning battlefield.
"How'd you know?" Ash asked, with his eyes full of surprised.
Laughing slightly Mr. Goodshow turned towards Ash, "I noticed when you were telling your story, you seemed to be unsure of yourself at this moment, I'm assuming your rethinking your training methods after you lost?"
Eyes having not been taking off Mr. Goodshow Ash could only nod.
"You're a fine trainer Ash, and your still young, you still have plenty of time from learning from your mistake. I'm sure once you get your mindset in the right place you'll grow leaps beyond where you are now. I'm sure Agatha, Lorelei, Lance, Bruno, and Drake will agree after all they believe you and your Pokémon so much potential." Goodshow finished.
Turning back to the match Ash couldn't help but smile, hearing the champion of the Kanto and Johto region as well as members of the elite four had confidence in him gave meant a lot to him.
The match ended with the red trainer coming out top. Since there would be time between before the next match, Ash decided to get some refreshments for himself, Pikachu, and Mr. Goodshow.
As he waited in line to order, he felt a tap on his shoulder. Turning around he notice he was surprised to see it was Joe.
"No way it's you, Ash!" Joe exclaimed causing people to shift their attention to them.
Surprised at the outburst, Ash quickly recomposed himself and responded.
"It's good to see you again Joe." Ash said.
His smile widening happy that Ash still recognized him, extending him arm Ash took it and shook it.
"I saw your match, you did well." Ash stated.
"Really, thanks I thought for sure I would have made it to the top 16 like you did." Joe replied, looking a little disappointed.
"You watch my first league matches." Ash said, surprised consider it had been years since his first league.
"You were amazing winning your first match with only one Pokémon then going to the top 16." Joes stated enthusiastically. "Oh, such a shame you lost because your Charizard didn't listen to you." Joe then sadly added.
Smiling Ash simply waved it off, and replied, "Well I wasn't that good of a trainer back then, I don't blame Charizard that much for not listening to me. I'm just glad I was able to get through to him."
Seeing the line moving up Ash and Joe moved up as well before continuing their conversation.
"Yah, I saw your matches Johto they, were so incredible. Where did you get the idea to burn the battlefield the way you did?" Joe asked wanting to learn more.
"Well it just came to me, I was just trying to figure a way to let deal damage, as well as a way to get Charizard in close." Ash answered while rubbing the back of his head.
"Yah and then the battle between Charizard and Blaziken was incredible, shame Charizard didn't know any Flying Type moves, you could've won." Joe added, unknowing stated something Ash had been thinking about.
Over the past could of days Ash could help but think on why he lost to Gary, and Electivire. One of the reasons he was over confident, like he always got afraid great battle. 2nd was he didn't have any strong moves to use against Electivire. Pikachu two main moves were Thunderbolt, and Volt Tackle. However, Electivire had the ability Motor Drive, negating any damage Pikachu could have done again it. Then there were his other two moves, Iron Tail and Quick Attack. Since Iron Tail was a steel type move it wouldn't have much effect on an electric type. He originally taught Pikachu Iron Tail to help deal with rock types. But was that the right move, what if he taught Pikachu a fighting type move. This would've done the same purpose, giving Pikachu something to use against Rock, and more importantly something against Pikachu biggest weakness ground types. A fighting type move also would have done more against Electivire. As for Quick Attack, while Quick Attack was good for getting close, and getting away quickly, it would do much damage, and Pikachu could only dodge for so long. Maybe he should teach Pikachu Protect. That why if Pikachu can't get away fast enough, he would have a backup strategy.
Then there was his other Pokémon, maybe he should look into what moves they can learn in order to help them against their weakness. But before Ash could continue to ponder, he felt someone poke him. Turning he realized Joe was letting him know it was his turn to order. Once that was done the two continued to talk when waiting for their order.
"What were you thinking about?" Joe asked.
"I was thinking about what I'm going to do in Sinnoh." Ash answered.
"Wow, you know after today I think I'll go on my own journey, and collect gym badges along the way." Joe stated.
"I will be a great learning experience for you, after all not everything you can learn just by studying. Somethings can only be learned through experiencing yourself." Ash informed.
Joe nodded in agreement, after their orders arrived Joe gave quick goodbye since he need to get back to his parents before they worry too. Ash also his own goodbyes and promised Joe a battle next time they meet.
Once Ash returned it was time for the he noticed Goodshow was standing up cheering for someone. Looking down at the field he noticed a girl taking her stance on the field. When Ash's eyes laid on her, and blush appeared on his face. She had reddish-brown hair that went down to her waist, brown eyes that he could stare at all day. She wore a blue school blouse, with white puffy sleeves, a short blue mini skirt, a pair of white stocking that reached her knees, a pair of black dress shoes.
"Beautiful." Was all Ash could mutter, the blush still present on his face.
"Go Giselle, you can do it!" Mr. Goodshow cheered with proud eyes.
Snapping out of his daze, he noticed the Pikachu had been poking his cheek for a while.
"Sorry buddy, guess I got distracted, but say doesn't that girl look familiar?" Ash responded to his partner.
Looking toward the field, Pikachu did feel that girl was familiar.
"Oh, so you met my granddaughter, Giselle?" Goodshow asked.
"Your, granddaughter?"/" Pika, Pika?" Both Ash and Pikachu responded., with a surprised face.
"Yup. This is her first league and she has already done so well, winning her first three battles without losing a single Pokémon." Mr. Goodshow informed.
"Wow that's pretty impressive." Ash complemented.
'So it really is Giselle, she has certainly grown up a lot.' Ash though as he couldn't help but begin examine every inch of her. When Ash realized what he was doing he quickly shook those thoughts, he wasn't Brock, he wasn't going to let his hormones take over. Looking back on the field he noticed the determine look on Giselle's face. It was a look he had worn many time before a big battle.
He had to admit that look seemed only to increase her beauty to him. Still he was interested in seeing what kind of trainer had grown into, since he had last seen her over four years ago.
(Down on the Battlefield)
'Alright, one more match and I'll have made to the top 16, just like he did in his first league.' Giselle thought, as she took out a necklace with a lock, that held a photo of a certain raven hair trainer with z marks on his cheeks, and certain Pikachu on his shoulders.
Ever since Ash had defeated all those years ago, she couldn't take her mind off of the young trainer. There was something about him that she couldn't but admire about him, was it his bond with his Pokémon or the way he never gives up during battle. Whatever it was it drew her to him, what at first started as an admiration for the trainer, soon turned into attraction. Every time any of the Pokémon League happen he always seem to be at one. She watched his progress, top 16 in Kanto, top 8 in Johto and Hoenn, defeating the Orange Island challenge, and now being the first trainer to defeat the Battle Frontier. He had gone so far in such a short amount of time, and now was her time to show him that she could go just as far.
Looking dead on straight ahead, she narrowed her eyes at her opponent, who did the same to her. It would be her to reveal the first Pokémon, taking a deep breath to calm her thoughts, she grabbed her first and tossed her Pokéball into the air.
"I choose you!" She called out.
And done, I feel this is a major over my last attempt. Now next chapter will be Giselle battle and I've already pick out her team. I forgot to mention Ash will trade his Tauros, but I won't be taking any suggestions. Why because I have all twenty now 29 picked out, however I will take suggestions on what Pokémon you want to see Dawn, Giselle, Brock and Ash will catch even their rivals. But remember any suggestions for Giselle's Pokémon must be ground types.
