A/N: Tonight's episode will probably be the last chance for anything Savis related this season. With him going to Texas instead of J-bad I'm REALLY hoping they get some sort of goodbye moment. This little story is just my delusional brain's attempt at eventually getting them back together for season four! Enjoy.

Davis stood outside of the all too familiar white door with mixed emotions. On one hand Sonny was going through a hard time, having just been removed from Bravo for the next six weeks and he could probably use a friend right now. She would be lying, too, if she said that she wasn't going to miss him. After nine years in the Navy, this would be her first deployment without Sonny Quinn. On the other hand, the last time she knocked on this door things between them escalated unexpectedly. That night her emotions ran rampant after almost losing him and being in his arms again was the relief she hadn't known she needed until she was there. It was a night they both needed, really, an ice breaker, so to speak, to cut the tension between them; breakup sex.

Just as she snapped back to reality and prepared to knock, the images of their last night together quickly fading away, she heard the lock to Sonny's front door unlatch and the knob turn. The door jerked open and Sonny bounded through it almost knocking her over. He was carrying a large duffel bag and the worst scowl she had ever seen on his face. She reached out to catch herself to keep from falling backwards, grabbing the open flaps of Sonny's half-buttoned plaid shirt. His free arm snaked around her petite waist with his hand coming to rest on her lower back. He held her effortlessly as she leaned forward to regain her balance.

"I'm sorry-." "Whoa-."

They spoke in unison, their gaze meeting one another for the first time. They held each other for brief moment, until the surprise of the collision wore off. Davis released the fabric that was clinched between her fingers, but allowed her hands to linger on Sonny's broad chest for an extra second, or five, before pulling them to her sides. The warmth of his hand left her back, trailing around to her hip where one finger breached the gap between her shirt and blue jeans, leaving a burning sensation on her skin in it's wake.

"Lisa, what are you doing here?"

It wasn't the greeting she was hoping for, but given recent events, it was considerably warmer than some of the things he could have said to her.

She cleared her throat and replied, "I wanted to check on you... Make sure you were okay."

Sonny let out a short, sarcastic laugh, "I'm far from 'okay', but thanks."

The sternness of his voice and passive aggressiveness was shocking. She had seen him mad many times, more times than she could count, but never over something so important to him. Unsure if this was the best decision, she just nodded, acknowledging his mood, and turned to leave.

Davis heard the loaded duffel bag hit the floor and echo through the hallway just before Sonny started to speak. "Wait..."

She spun back around to face him, but didn't make a movement in his direction, waiting to see what he had to say.

"Is that really why you came all the way over here?" He asked, his tone more mellow and even than before.

"It's half the reason," she admitted, taking a step forward.

He grinned as his curiosity peaked, "Oh, yeah? What's the other half?"

She picked up on the playful nature of his voice now and took the few steps back to his front door. "Not whatever's going through your head right now, cowboy!"

Sonny raised his hands in resignation and shrugged. "Can't blame for trying."

Davis rolled her eyes and shook her head, trying not to let him see her blush. She didn't want him to catch on to the fact that that thought may have crossed her mind, too.

"Seriously, though," he continued, "What's up?"

Her eyes met his once again, "I was packing earlier, going over everything for this deployment, list after list, and your name wasn't there. It doesn't feel right, leaving without you. I just wanted to say 'goodbye' in person."

As the words left her lips, she instantly regretted them. Bringing all of this up to him would only be adding salt to the wound; another reminder of where Sonny wasn't going to be. She began to backpedal, "It's selfish of me, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have come."

Sonny took a step forward to shorten the gap between them, "I'm glad you did." He reached up to brush a strand of hair behind her ear and gently ran the back of his fingers down the length of her jawline. "What if I didn't come back to Bravo? This could be our chance."

Lisa caught Sonny's hand in her own the moment it left her face and intertwined her fingers with his. "Sonny, I love you too much to let you throw your career for me. The team is the most important part of your life-"

"Second most," he corrected. "I figured that out long before today."

Davis realized early on in their relationship that Sonny had dove in head first. Once he was in, he was all in. There was never an ounce of hesitation from him. His unwavering loyalty and passion for them as a couple came as a surprise to her at first, but he always knew exactly what he wanted and wasn't afraid to say it. She could see those same features in him now. He was completely serious about leaving DEVGRU.

"Come back to Bravo. Let's finish this deployment together and then, if this is still what we want when we get back, we'll make it happen. We can tell Blackburn, Lindell, the team... face the consequences, and hope for the best."

"Fair enough," he agreed.

Davis leaned forward and tenderly placed her soft lips on his. The kiss caught Sonny of guard and as soon as he realized it was happening, she pulled away. The kiss penetrated every nerve and he could almost feel the endorphins shooting through his brain. Nothing he'd ever felt before compared to her kiss and he wanted nothing more than to feel like that again everyday.

"Goodbye, Sonny," she said as she released his hand and walked away.

"G'bye, Lisa."

A lot could happen over the next three months, they both knew that even the slightest variable may throw this plan off course, but at least they had a plan.
