Hey y'all! Here's a two-shot for you since I'm feeling the love. I'm not a big fan of this story, like I'm not completely satisfied, but maybe I'll rewrite it some day. Not too sure. Anyway, this is my best at 2AM. Enjoy~
"I'm so wasted!" shouts a man with unruly jet black hair.
Holding on to the very drunk man, a girl with long brown hair says, "Gary, we need to go home. Ash is fucked up."
The more sober man, Gary, rolls his dark viridian eyes. "No way, Leaf! I am having way too much fun. It's not my fault Ashy boy can't hang." The auburn haired man takes a shot of vodka.
"You're a bad friend, Gary!" Leaf exclaims as she helps Ash sit at the booth. The drunk man is swaying and barely conscious now.
"Ash is a bad friend for making us leave early. This club is lit. I am not leaving now." Gary tells her as he stands up to head to the dance floor. The three friends took a trip out of their small town of Pallet Town to go to a new club in Viridian City. There are lots of people in the club, especially well known League officials. The multi-colored lights are flashing and drinks are pouring. This is totally Gary Oak's scene. However, Ash drank too much trying to keep up with his longtime rival. It is always a competition between the two. Leaf didn't drink as much because she deemed herself the sober monitor for the night; although, Gary called her lame.
"C'mon, Ash. Let's call you a cab." Leaf tells the barely conscious man.
"No." He moans. "I can still drink…"
"Ash, you are definitely not drinking anymore." Fortunately, Ash doesn't respond. Leaf looks over at the dance floor to see if she can find Gary. She quickly spots him flirting with his 3rd girl tonight. "Typical Gary Fucking Oak." she thinks. "Ash, I'll be right back!" Leaf shouts through the music and storms her way over to Gary. While pushing through the dancefloor, someone grabs her butt, but Leaf ignores it as an accident as she focuses on the auburn playboy.
"What do you say we get out of here?" Gary smoothly asks the blonde woman.
"Yeah. Let's go." Leaf interjects as she finally reaches her friend.
"Um. Who's this?" the blonde woman asks.
The surprised Gary gives a sweet smile. "Oh. Just my little sister." He lies.
Leaf rolls her eyes and hooks her arm with Gary's before standing on her tiptoes to land a peck on his cheek. The man flinches in shock. Leaf then looks back at the angry blonde woman. "I'm sorry that my cheating boyfriend is trying to pick you up. We really must go now." She smiles sweetly at the woman and drags Gary away.
"What the fuck, Leaf!" exclaims the man as they walk back to the booth.
"We came here together, we leave here together."
"You just cockblocked! Not cool!"
"Yeah. And you're abandoning your friends. Not cool."
Gary pulls his arm away as they're crossing the dance floor. "Look, Leaf, you and Ash know me. This is my thing! I flirt with girls and take them home! Stop being so fucking righteous and just leave with Ash already!" he exclaims at the woman.
Leaf glares at him. "Fine, Gary. Fuck you! You can wake up without your kidneys for all I care!" She throws her hands up in defeat and walks back to Ash by herself. Gary, muttering curse words to himself, heads off in search of his next wasted target. Leaf returns to the booth to see Ash fully passed out on the bench. She can't lift him up by herself, but she already cussed out Gary and can't ask him for help. It'd hurt her pride.
As Leaf sits at the booth trying to figure out what to do with Ash that doesn't involve security throwing them out into the cold, someone approaches their booth. "Excuse me?" comes a high voice. Leaf removes her head from her hands to look up and see a very pretty woman with orange hair and green eyes.
"Can I help you?" Leaf asks her. The woman couldn't be any older than her.
"Yes! My name is Misty Waterflower. I am the Cerulean City Gym leader. Gary just tried to pick me up before realizing it was me." Misty laughs awkwardly. "But he told me Ash was here?"
Leaf looks over at the sleeping man dressed in black beside her, but due to the table being in the way as well as the dim booth lights, Misty must not have noticed him yet. The brunette gives a tight smile before standing up and exiting the booth. "There he is." She extends her arms as if he is on display.
"What happened to him?" Misty asks.
"He thought he could outdrink our notorious playboy and party boy, Gary Oak." Leaf crosses her arms.
Misty rolls her eyes at the man. "Figures." She then looks around. "Can you help me carry him out?"
Leaf gives her a confused look. "Um. I'm sorry. I don't know you, and I can't just let you take my unconscious friend with you."
Misty gives her a small smile. "Yeah. I'm sorry." she gives an awkward laugh. "But I don't think he should be here anymore. I can take him back to Pallet Town or even my hotel here in Viridian City." Misty blushes as she realizes what she just said. "Ash and I are just childhood friends! I'm not gonna do anything to him!"
Leaf laughs at the redhead. She seems alright. "Okay. Well, I was actually looking for help on getting him out of here too." She smiles at Misty. "We were all supposed to crash at Gary's since his sister and grandpa are out of town, but as you can see" she motions to the auburn haired man making out with some poor soul. "And we can't go back to Ash's place with his mom. My place has both of my parents home as well, so I think I'll take you up on that hotel offer."
"Yeah! The more the merrier!" The two women each support Ash by throwing one of his arms around their shoulders. Once outside, they sit on a bench waiting for a cab. They share stories about Ash and Gary while getting to know each other better. Apparently, Misty got dragged to the club because of her sisters who decided to tag along on her League meeting (since they are technically still gym leaders). She is grateful for the excuse to leave since clubs are not her scene. Once the cab pulls up, the women load Ash into the backseat. Misty then sits down in the car, but Leaf hesitates. "What's wrong, Leaf?" Misty asks.
The brunette sighs. "As much as I'd like to ditch Gary, I can't." She then smiles at Misty. "I trust you'll take care of Ash, especially if Gary sent you over to us."
Misty smiles back. "Okay. I'll text you with Ash's pokenav once we're in the hotel. Please text him once you and Gary are home safely too!"
Leaf nods and watches as the cab pulls off. She then makes her way back into the club. She doesn't immediately see Gary, so the brunette walks around the dance floor. While walking past the bathrooms, she gets pulled from behind. Leaf looks up to see an extremely intoxicated bluenette. He tries to plant a kiss on her, but she sidesteps him. Unfortunately, he is bigger and stronger than her and grabs her wrist.
"Not so fast, pretty lady. What's your name?" He slurs with his disgusting alcohol breath.
Leaf inwardly groans. This is why she usually sticks with Ash when their trio go out. "I have a boyfriend." she lies.
"I saw. But it seems like he's cheating on you, so you might as well do it back." the man closes up on Leaf who is pinned against a wall.
"What do you mean you saw?"
"On the dance floor earlier." She feels his breath on her neck. "He was talking to some lady and then you had an argument and he went to make out with someone else." he plants a kiss on her neck. "You're too pretty to be cheated on."
Cringing, Leaf manages to knee the man in the pokeballs, which makes him release his grip on her. Unfortunately, he recovers quickly and angrily chases after her.
"You fucking bitch!" he shouts over the music. Leaf runs towards security, but before she can get there, the man manages to grab her again. His face is red from alcohol, pain, and fatigue as he pants out, "I'm gonna-"
"Gonna what?" The two turn around to see Gary approaching the man from behind.
"Mind your own business." The man says. Gary puts a hand on the man's arm that is holding Leaf's wrist.
"Let her go." Gary sternly tells the man.
The bluenette scoff. "You were cheating on her all night. Fuck off."
"We're not dating, but she's my friend. I'm only gonna ask you nicely one more time." he cooly tells the fuming man. There is now a small crowd of people around them.
The man tightens his grip on Leaf, which makes her yelp. He turns his attention from Gary to her, "So you were lying to me about having a boyfriend? What a bitch!"
"POP!" Leaf's wrist is freed as Gary throws more punches at the bluenette on the ground. Security is quick on them and grabs all three before they are tossed out of the club. Fortunately, the bloody bluenette scurries off once outside.
Leaf looks over at her best friend. He has a cut on the left side of his lip and his right knuckles are red and bruised, but overall, he doesn't seem too hurt. Gary is still very visibly pissed off as the two stand outside the club. "I had it handled." Leaf finally says.
The auburn haired man glares at her. "That did not look like you had it handled."
Leaf glares at him. "You should've just kept making out with random women!"
"And you should've left with Ash and Misty!" Gary angrily shouts. The two glare at each other until Gary speaks. "A thank you would be nice now."
"Fuck you, Gary." Leaf says before calling a cab. The two stand in uncomfortable silence waiting for the cab. Once it arrives, Leaf gets in but Gary still waits outside. Rolling her eyes, she grabs his sleeve and pulls him in. He doesn't put up any kind of a fight, so it is fairly easy. As the cab makes the drive towards Pallet Town, both friends are sitting on opposite sides of the backseat in silence. Leaf looks at her pokenav and sees a recent text from "Ash" saying he's at Misty's hotel.
"Sorry." Leaf snaps her attention from the pokenav. Had she just heard that correctly? She looks over at the auburn haired man who is now leaning his head back in exhaustion.
"What?"
"Sorry." He mutters louder now.
Leaf smiles. "It's okay. You know I always forgive you."
He lets out a loud sigh. "I'm drunk."
"I figured. Sober Gary doesn't fight that easily."
"He called you a bitch."
"I kind of deserved it though." She shrugs, but Gary opens his eyes and looks into her green eyes.
"You never deserve to be called that, Leaf."
"Well, I did lie to him, knee him in the balls, and say some rude things to him."
"You hit his balls?" Gary snickers. Leaf nods with a smile. "Damn! High-five, Greeny!" And the two friends high five, but before Gary can bring his hand back to his side, Leaf grabs it. She looks at his swollen knuckles.
"Thanks, Gary."
He gives her a soft, drunk smile. "Anything for you, Greeny." The two then resume sitting in comfortable silence as the car enters Pallet Town. "I'm drunk." Gary slurs.
Rolling her eyes since he already announced his intoxication level earlier, Leaf sarcastically says, "Tell me something I don't know."
"I like you." Gary's eyes are still closed as his head is rested on the headrest.
Leaf blushes and looks out her window again. "Uh. I like you too, Gary. You're a good friend."
Despite the woman not seeing, Gary shakes his head. "Nah, Greeny. I like you, like you."
"Gary, you're drunk."
"I told you that." The cab pulls into the Oak residence and Leaf supports Gary as they walk up the steps. Of course, Leaf has to unlock the front door. She supports Gary into his room and drops him on the bed. While Leaf is taking off his shoes, he mumbles, "I really, really like you, Leaf."
Blushing even harder now, Leaf says, "Let's talk about this when you're sober."
"Uh uh. I'll be too scared to when I'm sober."
"Gary…"
Gary finds some energy to sit up on the bed and look into her green eyes. "Leaf Green, I like you."
"Gary, I watched you make out with like 3 different women tonight. And that was just making out." She crosses her arms while standing in front of him.
The auburn haired man runs a hand through his hair and chuckles. "I wish they were you."
Leaf feels her face get hotter. "Gary, you're drunk."
"I know." He says before laying back on the bed and closing his eyes. "I feel better getting it off my chest." he mutters.
While thinking of a response, Leaf hears Gary quietly snoring. She rolls her eyes at him before pulling the blanket over the passed out man. As she tucks him in, she sees his swollen hand again. Smiling to herself, Leaf plants a kiss on Gary's lip where his cut from the fight is. "I like you too, Gary Oak."
Honestly, I based Gary's drunkness after my college years. I would repeatedly tell people I'm drunk when they could visibly see it. I also would spill a lot of things, but luckily, it was only to my close fiends haha (never crushed on my friends tho). In addition, Leaf's sober monitoring is based off of me too whenever I was the sober monitor in college. You always gotta make sure everyone who came with you leaves with you. You also gotta make sure the really drunk ones get into a comfortable bed with their shoes off. Practice safe and healthy drinking habits!
Chapter 2 is about Ash and Misty at her hotel. ;)
