RWBY: Keep Moving Forward

(Author's note: I had this little idea a few days ago. I was just thinking and this popped into my head. No clue if it'll be good or bad, but it seemed interesting to me. So, here it is. My new OC idea. Hope you all enjoy!

By the way, for those wondering, I do plan on continuing my other RWBY fics but I sort of hit a bit of a writers block with them. I want to break out of the habit of following the story one-hundred percent, which is why I want to focus a bit of my time on this one. The main RWBY storyline will be correct, Fall of Beacon, Haven, yada yada yada, I just want to make changes to the dialogue so it seems my character is actually in the story instead of feeling like an added character... That sounds confusing. Hm. For example, I usually follow the same dialogue but add in one or two lines of my OCs. But in this fic, I will come up with new lines for when my OC interacts with the main cast as well as add new scenes. Hopefully I can show it better than tell it)

Prologue

Running through the woods, two kids, one girl, around the age of fifteen, and one boy, around nine, ran away from a burning home. The girl held tightly onto her brother's hand as she led him away. "Don't look back!" the girl panted. "Don't look back, Dean!"

Hearing shouts and yells, the boy, Dean, looks back, doing the opposite of what his sister said, to see a dozen people standing around the burning house. "Where did those animals go?!" someone shouted.

Another person, a woman, pointed in the direction of Dean and his sister. "There!" she shouted at the others. "They're making a run for it!"

The two siblings picked up speed, running through the woods with their pursuers close behind.

The older sister suddenly stopped as she saw a hole in the trunk of a tree. It wasn't big enough for her to fit, but Dean could easily slip inside.

"Here." the girl said to her brother, leading him to the tree. The little boy looks at the hole before up at his big sister. Leaning down, she lifts her brother up and helps him crawl into the hole. "Keep your ears back." she told him. Doing as told, Dean folded his cat ears back. Getting into a sitting position, the two looked each other in the eyes. "Stay here, alright. Don't come out until it's quiet."

"O-okay." Dean nodded. "But what about you, Sae?"

"I'll be okay." she told him. "Here." Sae grabbed his hand as she reached into her back pocket. "Whenever you're scared, just look at this, okay? It'll make you feel safe."

Looking down at his hand, he was holding a silver locket in the shape of a heart. Inside was a picture of his sister. "Excuse me?" glancing up, a female Faunus with a raccoon tail held a book to her chest as she glanced at the empty spot next to Dean. "Is this seat taken?"

Dean tucked the necklace into his shirt. "It's all yours." he said as he stood up, putting his hands inside of his pockets.

"Oh, I wasn't asking you to move." the girl told him.

"It's fine." he replied. "I need to stretch my legs anyway."

Dean began to walk towards the window of the airship to get a look at Beacon as it came into view. "Excuse me?" the girl said again as she tapped his shoulder.

"Yeah?" Dean glanced back at her.

"If you don't mind me asking, what kind of Faunus are you?" she asked. "I've never seen one like you before and I couldn't help but let my curiosity get the better of me."

"I'm a Lynx." Dean told her.

"A Lynx?" the girl repeated. "I heard there's only a handful of Lynx Faunus in the world."

The two stood in silence for a few seconds. "Oh! I forgot." the girl held her hand out to Dean. "I'm Natasha Sumire, but my friends call me Nat."

"Dean Marston." the two shook hands.

As the two looked at each other, Natasha rubbed the back of her head as she grinned awkwardly. "I...I guess I'll be seeing you around?" she said with a nervous chuckle. "Beacon, I mean."

"Guess so." Dean said before placing his hands in his pockets.

"Alright." Natasha began backing away. "It was cool talking with you!"

"Ditto."

Once Natasha left Dean, Dean pulled out his scroll. Opening a list, a dozen names filled the screen.

-Simon Phillips

-Lillith Truman

-Charlie Sheen

-Arthur Brown

-Julius Wright

-Paul Beckan

-Jill Frennan

-Brian Freeman

-Quentin John

-Nicholas Motavich

-Yennan Free

-Killian Moc

And at the top of the list was a bit of text that read 'Remaining Members of A.F.G.'

End of prologue

(AN: I wanted to try something different here. At the beginning, Dean is remembering him and his sister when they were attacked by a group of people. When his sister handed him the locket, he stopped thinking about it and came back to reality. I'm sorry if it was a bit confusing, and if you guys want, I can make it more obvious when Dean is having a flashback/memory by changing the text style. Anyway, this is what I came up with. Whaddya guys think?)
