"Wake up damnit!" a feminine voice said before splashing the child in front of her with a bucket of water. His eyes shot open and he gasped coughing and shaking his head to rid himself of the water. He looked at the slender female in front of him, a Gerudo, the race of all women who took over hyrule. "What do you want." he said with venom. His name was link, or thats what hes been told. For his entire life he'd been in captivity. He doesn't remember his parents and he never had a childhood. All he's known is hatred and pain.
The woman above him laughed at him. "Oh don't be like that come on it's your special day." Link snarled at her knowing damn straight what the day was. It was his execution day. He was only eleven years old but they were executing her. They believed that he was the hero of legend that would overthrow the Gerudo. "Again with this really. You're going to execute an eleven year old boy over what an educated guess. Sounds like crap to me." The gerudo soldier looked at him with spite before grabbing him by his hair and pulling him up. "An educated guess it may be but we won't be taking any chances. The Gerudo race is far superior to that of any others. Human, Zora, Kokiri, Goran, Hylian whatever. We were born and bred to rule this country and nobody will stop us." she said proudly.
For over twenty years the Gerudo had ruled Hyrule. It started when their lone male Ganondorf killed the king in battle. Every hundred years or so a male was born into the gerudo race. He was destined to be their king. Ganondorf was supposed to be almighty and powerful but not long after he was killed. A few years after the war a group of sheikah formed a secret gorup known as the assassins. They fought for justice and to defend the weak but would go to extreme circumstances to do so. For the past year they had been living in the shadows attacing Gerudo fortresses and cities. In the last month Ganondorf was killed. An assassin was able to catch him off guard and drive a blade through his neck. However, his spirit still lingered with the queen of the Gerudo.
She took over after he was killed and ruled the Gerudo. She treated every other race as less then people. Hylians were nothing more than slaves and their very race was on the verge of extinction. The few who were free hid in fear knowing their time could be up soon. The only hylian that was allowed to be free was Ganondorfs daughter zelda. She was half Gerudo, half Hylian but her features were prominently Hylian. She lived in the castle away from the world wanting peace but knowing it couldn't happen.
link struggled in the soldiers grip trying his hardest to break free. "Why are you so hell bent on killing me!" he yelled trying to get amswers. The gerudo ignored him and kept walking till they reached the thrown room. She dropped him on the foor and kicked his stomach before walking away. He grunted in pain and spat up blood before hearing footsteps. He slowly looked up and saw the queen of the Gerudo striding towards him.
She laughed when she saw his weak form. "Well my my if it isn't the hero of legend in the flesh. Or should i say without much flesh." Link was missing skin all over his body from the years of torture. His face was scarred with burns and cuts and he had one eye gouged out. He slowly looked up at the queen. "W-why?" was all he could get out. She knew what he wanted by just that simple question and nodded at him. "I guess iI can allow you that much."
"You see hero after the great Ganondorf was killed by those damned assassins a phenominal miracle happened. His spirit entered into me and with it i gained his powers. Ganon can only be truly defeated by the Master Sword, The Blade of Evils Bane which, can only be held by the chosen hero." she finished smirkin down at Link. "Which we belive to be you. I mean seriously your mother tried so hard to hide you and even sacrificed herself when she thought it would save you why else would she try so hard when everyone else just wanted to save themselves." Link tried to jump at her for the statement but was easily brushed aside as if he was noting. "You see hero if you are eliminated before you fully grasp your powers then the Gerudo will live on forever!"
"The assasins will never let that happen!" Link shouted. "They killed Ganondorf before they can easily kill you!" The queen laughed and used her dark magic to grab link and make him face to face with her. "And if they do kill me his spirit will go to somebody else it's a never ending cycle." LInk growled at her knowing it was true. "Now where was I, oh yes it's your execution day let us head to the square."
The Gerudo did public executions for any criminal they deemed worth enough. As they walked Link watched all the faces that looked at him. Gerudo citixens who cheered and threw things at him. The Goron and Zora workers who just shook their heads sadly. The Hylian slaves who were crying as another member of their race was sent to his death. And finally his only friend, the princess Zelda. She wasn't allowed to say anything to him and could only watch with sadness in her eyes as Link was walked to the center of town. "What can i say. I tried everything i could, but in the end it didnt matter." he said directing it towards zelda.
"Oh shut your mouth." the queen said before pushing him to his knees. She used her magic to hold him in place as she went to grab a large blade. Link sighed and closed his eyes in preperation. "I'm sorry everyone." he said under his breath as heard the queen return. "At long last the hero will be killed. Long live the Gerudo!" She yelled before swinging the blade. The last thing Link felt was the cold steel before it ripped through his skin.
