The Ultimate Detective and the Ultimate Hope Gaiden: Class 78th Celebrates! Junko Banned?
"Ugh…why is everyone so…peppy? I haven't seen this many smiles and giggles since everyone came back from seeing Hope Boy and Miss Detective get hitched."
Junko walked through the cloudy halls of the afterlife, a scowl formed on her face as she repeatedly crossed paths with her former classmates and victims. When she first arrived in the afterlife after executing herself, to her great shock, Kami had sentenced her to eternity in heaven with her classmates instead of burning in hell, proclaiming that he could not think of a better punishment than to spend eternity with her classmates that she had killed in the name of despair.
After arriving, she was appalled to find out that her former classmates had more or less formed their own community, having forgiven each other for their sins. In addition, they all got along more or less as well as they had before Junko wiped their memories; they had ups and downs, but nothing that strained their communal afterlife.
Ugh…if I had known the afterlife was gonna be the same as my actual life, I might have stayed on the mortal plane for a few more decades…at least then I'd have the despair of growing old and losing my good looks…Junko had thought one day as she strolled around to stave away her boredom.
One of the major ups that made Junko especially disgusted was the day after everyone sans Junko and Mukuro decided to visit the mortal plane to watch Makoto and Kyoko get married. Everyone was giggling, laughing, and smiling from their happiness at seeing their two friends finally wed. Even Celeste, who usually only gave deceptive smiles, actually smiled sincerely, much to Junko's disgust. And ever since Kyoko had become pregnant, a more low-key version of that happiness had pervaded the community.
"Ugh! Ever since Herbivore Man got the guts to knock her up, it's been Baby Naegi this and Baby Naegi that for the past eight months! Even Muku's been smiling more! I can't stand another month of seeing them all coo at Kyoko's swelling gut! …The only good part was when she got that nightmare a month ago. I swear, I needed some of that maternal despair! Too bad Hope Boy and his Mommy had to cheer her up and ruin my fun!"
It was then that a giggling Sayaka and Chihiro passed her by, irritating the former Ultimate Fashionista even more, though her ears perked at their gossip.
"Did you hear, Chihiro? Makoto and Kyoko just brought home their baby from the hospital!"
"Oh, YAY! What did they have, Sayaka? Boy or girl?"
Smiling sweetly, Sayaka informed him "Girl! Everyone's at the theater to see her! Come on, let's go!"
"Okay!"
As the two classmates ran off, Junko started to muse "Ah, so the kid finally came, huh? Ah, might as well check it out. At the very least it might be fun to know who I can haunt every now and again…"

In a matter of minutes, the trio had arrived at an empty, decrepit theater. While spirits of the deceased had the freedom to make limited interactions with the world of the living at will, they usually went to the movie theater to observe the lives of those they were close to in life, as well as to look back on their pasts. As Sayaka and Chihiro approached the entrance, they saw Sakura standing guard at the entrance.
Curtsying, Sayaka greeted "Good morning, Sakura."
Smiling warmly at the two visitors Sakura greeted "Good morning, you two. Are you here to see them? Everyone else is inside; even the Kirigiris and Kizakura-sensei decided to come and watch, too."
Nodding, Sayaka squealed "Of course we are! I mean…Makoto and Kyoko had a BABY! There's no way we're missing this!"
Nodding, a curious expression entered Chihiro's face as he asked "But why are you standing out here, Sakura? Don't you want to see Makoto and Kyoko's baby with everyone else?"
Shaking her head, Sakura explained "I was asked to keep guard in case She-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named decides to crash the celebration."
Sayaka's nose wrinkled in disgust as she groaned "Ugh, I hope not! I can just see her trying to haunt the poor kid!"
Looking down, Chihiro admitted "I don't…want to exclude anybody…but if she's just gonna ruin the mood…then I guess it's for the best…"
Sayaka patted Chihiro's shoulder, causing the former Ultimate Programmer to look up at his companion as she said "You're a much better person than we are, Chihiro."
Nodding in agreement, Sakura said "At any rate, you two are more than welcome. Go right ahead in!"
As Sakura shuffled to the side, Sayaka and Chihiro squealed before running in. Sakura chuckled before resuming her spot, frowning as the oblivious Ultimate Despair sauntered up to the entrance.
"Hey there, Sakura! How's it going?"
Sighing, Sakura asked suspiciously "What are you doing here, Junko?"
Pouting, Junko fake-whined "Aww, come on! I thought we were friends!"
Her eyes narrowed, Sakura answered "That was before you plunged the world into despair and killed us all. Not to mention the fact that you tried to execute Makoto for a crime he didn't commit and indirectly caused a Killing Game that nearly killed Kyoko."
"Aww, come on! I was super bored! Can you blame me for wanting to make things a little more exciting?"
"Boredom does not excuse murdering us and filling the world with death and despair."
Sighing, Junko replied "Whatever…this conversation is getting super boring anyway. I only came to get a glimpse of Naegi's new brat. Now, if you'll excuse me…"
As she tried to walk through however, Sakura simply glared at her, blocking her path and warning her "The others have unanimously agreed that you are not to come any closer to this theater, Junko."
"Aww, but why nooottttt?"
"Considering how much you still love despair, none of us would put it past you to try and haunt their precious bundle of joy the instant you learned their identity."
"Me?" Junko changed into her cutesy personality, asking "Do you really think someone as cute as this would dare to haunt an infant?"
Shaking her head, Sakura advised her "Do not even try the puppy-dog eyes onme. If you try to get through this door…" Sakura's eyes blazed with fire, the Ultimate Martial Artist exhibiting a white aura as she roared "you'll have to deal with me!"
"Oh, hello Sakura. Hey, Junko."
Both turned to see Mukuro Ikusaba, bowing before Sakura, who nodded and replied "Good Morning, Mukuro. Are you here to see Makoto and Kyoko's new baby too?"
Mukuro nodded, only for Junko to advise "Forget about it, Muku. They've banned us from…"
"Go right ahead, Mukuro."
Junko gaped in shock as Sakura shuffled to one side, Mukuro nodding gratefully as she walked though the entrance. Before Junko could think to run in after her, Sakura stepped back in place to block Junko.
"What the hell? Why is my useless sister free to go while I'm banned?" Junko asked incredulously.
"Two reasons. First, Mukuro got on her knees and begged us for our forgiveness after Makoto led the others out of Hope's Peak. We chose to forgive her not only because she was one of your victims, but because we knew that Makoto would have forgiven her in a heartbeat. Second, when Makoto offered you his mercy after defeating you, you spat in his face. As far as we're concerned, anyone who spits in the face of his kindness doesn't deserve to see his family. So don't even think of trying to get past me."
"And if you somehow make it past her, you'll just get a knuckle sandwich from me."
The two adjusted their gaze to see an irate Mondo walking up, standing beside Sakura as he cracked his knuckles in a clear warning to the former Ultimate Fashionista.
Junko only laughed in response and taunted "come on, Mondo; you know as well as I do that you can't hit girls, so don't even try to threaten me."
"We're dead, Junko. We're all equals now. And besides, no walloping I could possibly give you would do any kind of permanent damage. The way I see it, my old rules and restraints are null and void. So if you even try to make it past us…" Mondo grinned, pounding his fist against his open palm as he threatened "I'll fuckin' deck ya!"
Smiling at the support, Sakura assured the former Ultimate Biker Gang Leader "It's alright, Mondo. I've got this."
After searching her eyes for a moment, Mondo reluctantly nodded, walking away and leaving the two women alone.
It was then that Junko adopted her depressed persona and moaned "To be excluded from all the festivities…it makes me all sad…and by my own classmates…it fills me with such despair…"
Shaking her head, Sakura warned "Your depressed persona won't work on me either, Junko."
Putting on a pair of glasses, Junko switched to her teacher persona and lectured "You do realize that prohibiting someone from entering a public facility and joining in the communal festivities is antithetical to the philosophy of the very man the others are spying on, don't you?"
Gritting her teeth, Sakura growled "Don't you dare try to use Makoto's logic against us. The answer is no, Junko."
Feeling more and more frustrated, Junko switched her glasses for a crown and transitioned to her ruler persona, ordering "As your Empress, I hereby order you to stand aside and grant me passage, peasant!" Sakura however chose to ignore Junko's antics, merely glaring at her as the two engaged in a staring contest, ending only when Junko sighed, tossing her crown aside and moaning "Whatever, I'm bored. So long, folks; Hope boy and his wife can coo over their little bundle of hope without me."
Sakura watched Junko leave, sighing in relief as she thought I'm glad that's over with…
"Psych!" Junko had switched over to her rock star personality, an unsettling grin on her face as she dashed for the entrance, cackling "Make way, bitch! Junko Enoshima is about to crash this…OOF!"
Junko's surprise attack was foiled by a swift punch between the eyes by Sakura, the Ultimate Despair falling flat on her back, losing consciousness from the former Ultimate Martial Artist's counter.
Sighing in exasperation, Sakura turned to see an irate Mukuro, walking up to her sister as she commented "Let me guess, she tried to get past and you decked her?"
Nodding, Sakura answered "That is correct. Would you be so kind as to…"
Before she could even finish, Mukuro sighed and reluctantly nodded, grabbing her sister's ankle and dragging her out of view with one hand, grumbling "Way to go, Junko; spoiling my chance to see Makoto smile again by crashing our watching of Makoto's daughter…you ALWAYS ruin things for me…"
Sakura's eyes softened out of pity before sighing, turning around and disappearing into the movie theater to rejoin her classmates.

"Hey, I thought you had guard duty?"
Sakura hummed before answering Sayaka "Taken care of; figured I'd come join everyone. Did I miss anything?"
Shaking her head, Sayaka answered "Not really; the baby's just been sleeping…oh look! She's waking up!"
Sakura turned her gaze to the projector to see a young infant girl, yawning as her purple and green eyes fluttered open.
"Aww…she has both of their eyes!" Sayaka gushed as the waking infant.
They continued to watch as Makoto walked into view, fatigue obvious in his eyes as he lifted his daughter out of the crib to reveal her set of green footie-hoodie pajamas.
"So! It would seem that the Naegi offspring has inherited the family armor…I wonder what stat advantages it has?" Hifumi mused, everyone's eyes rolling at his use of game lingo.
"Oh, look!" Chihiro squealed. "She has Makoto's hair color!"
"Except for her ahoge; that's clearly Kyoko's color." Leon observed.
"Speaking of which, are ahoges genetic to the Naegi family?" Celeste pondered, musing as she smiled "Because otherwise, for Makoto, his sister, and his daughter to all have ahoges…those are odds even I wouldn't want to gamble with."
Everyone grew quiet as Makoto ran his hand against his daughter's scalp, cooing "Hey, Kiki! Did you have a nice nap?"
"Kiki Naegi…" Taka teared up as he continued "Makoto…you really have chosen a strong name for your little girl!" turning to Mondo, he finished "Isn't that right, bro?"
Tearing up himself, Mondo spoke "You said it, bro! Makoto…Kyoko…your little girl is beautiful…an absolute treasure…"
Both men broke down, embracing each other in a man hug and crying manly tears of joy at the sight of Kiki.
Shaking her head in amusement at the sight, Sakura watched as Kyoko walked into the scene, informing Makoto that he could go take a nap while she took her turn watching Kiki.
"Aww…" some of the more romantics cooed as they saw Makoto hand Kyoko his daughter before kissing Kiki and Kyoko goodnight, walking off scene to crash on their bed.
Hibiki and Jin in particular smiled at the parental sight, filled with nostalgic memories of caring for a toddling Kyoko as the Kirigiri matriarch nuzzled into her husband, Jin wrapping an arm around his wife as Koichi and Fuhito watched proudly at Kyoko's innate parenting skills.
"Shh…shh…" they watched as Kyoko soothed her fussing daughter, exposing a nipple so she could feed off of her breastmilk. "There we go…Mama's here, Kiki. Mama's here…"
Sakura smiled as the deceased members of Class 78th continued to watch the Naegi's new life as parents.
Makoto…Kyoko…I may have trained to be the Strongest Human Alive…but as far as parenting skills…you two have far surpassed my capabilities. I just know you will raise a strong daughter…one who will inherit her father's strong, hopeful core.
